plastic screen on PSone LCD

So there is this piece of clear plastic attached with two yellow stripes of tape over the screen. Is it alright to remove it or is that part of the screen? I'm not sure since I got it used.

It's just to protect it. I leave mine on, because it's clear and, uh, it protects it.

they put em on lots of devices, i always remove them because i cant stand them

Ahahaha! This topic literally made me LOL.

I can't stand when people leave the packaging plastic film on. You go to their house and the DVD player still has the plastic film along the front. Even worse is when they leave the display stickers on. You know... those bright yellow stickers that explain what features the device has.

Please. For the love of humanity, take off the plastic.

Or when people use plastic on their furniture. I never seen that in real life though.
