so I noticed that it states "there will be 12,300 units of the Playstation 5 Pro console".

Meaning they have not announced the run number for the regular PS5 digital. It could conceivably stay in stock (or in manufacturing) for a much longer time period.

Also, "Limited Edition PlayStation Poster (1 of 30 possible designs)". A couple sickos will try to collect the set. That will be a strong possible way to subsidize the ticket price.
 
I just want a regular Pro. That's it.

After my experience trying to get the 20th Anniversary and failing every time, I am not even gonna bother with the 30th.
 
The play here def seems like it would be to grab a regular digital slim anniversary set so far. Considering that it's looking to be about half the price after the DualSense Edge inclusion in the Pro bundle.

I honestly hope that's the play for many but I know better. The regular slim probably isn't numbered. I just hope my luck continues. Ps direct is a crap shoot.

Great timing. Just in time for Black Friday.

So it looks like the regular slim will be sold at every retailer. The only thing that is truly limited is the pro 30th and that will sold at Playstation direct. Probably about 5k to the US.

The website will crash and 68% of them will go to scalpers. You'll have a less than 1% chance to get one. I'm out purely on the price alone, but even if they sold individual pro consoles for retail price, I'd be out, just to prevent the frustration of clicking for an hour and a half and getting "can't add to cart" and "can't load page" only to tell me it's sold out later.

The PlayStation que is pretty good. Just gong to take a lot of luck. Sadly I think the regular pro pre-orders drop at the same time so your competing with that too.
 
I had a PSP and Vita but PS5 was my first PS console, so I don't have the nostalgia for these. The black ports against the gray on the front doesn't hit for me either.

It's not the queue that's the problem though. The last few times they have had something limited on PSX Direct, the checkout has crashed and many people had problems making payment which then resulted in them missing out. I think it's a certainty that the same thing will happen on Thursday with so much stuff going up at once and crazy demand for this item.

I just made sure I saved my credit card on my profile . Every second counts. I tried to get a limited edition controller and it went from in stock to sold out between refreshing so I know.
 
The key, as been mentioned before, is to have your credit card info already loaded onto PS Direct site. Checkout is much quicker. Unless they changed things, you couldn't do that unless you had already purchased from them in the past.

I am also shocked they have not set up email invite only like they eventually did with the 5

I think we'll be lucky if more then 1 of us actually get 1. You gotta figure, they will allocate about 5k to the US. And with the regular pro going live at the same time.

The odds of actually getting in - in the first couple mins are going to be slim. I still don't know if it's best to refresh at start time or mins before, nor do I know if a refresh resets your spot

Also don't know if mobile or desktop is better. My phone loads pages faster then my laptop.

If they had a controller that looked and felt like an original dual shock, just with the modern features (triggers, touchpad, bluetooth, etc.) crammed in there, I’d probably have grabbed that for nostalgia. This junk isn’t remotely tempting.

So I just bought a edge, I gotta return it and pick the 30th edge up right. Luckily I haven't opened it yet. I'm a bestbuy plus member so I have a 60 day return window

You mean spend money to make money? At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they're just releasing the same games with higher-res textures they already had but needed to downscale for the PS4. Someone needs to dig through the original files because I'd bet money these are just slider options being set to ultra and charging full price for the same game.

Apple has strong competition for fandom now. For the love of fuck don't open a Sony store though, because I can't take that level of cringe at malls.
 
I'm feeling so out on anything Sony is doing right now. This just feels like the PS3 early stuff all over again, but they aren't losing in the console game like they were then to Microsoft. I mainly only care about games and reasonably priced limited items (like I'd go for the controller by itself). I'm just going to play my games on the OG PS5 and enjoy the games and just ignore all this other junk. None of it matters to me at least.

I still have mine sealed. Part of me needs this 30th and I definitely will try but if I don't get through, I'll let it go. When I think of all the shit I'm buying. It's going to cost me about 3k. I can always grab the 30th slim.

Sadly there is no disc version and the best you get will be drive-shaped plastic cover painted gray. Which to me feels like Sony mocking us following a decision to never produce a console with onboard physical media again.

This is a done deal. I expect them to stop manufacturing the slim with disc drive within the next year.

I'm already excepting the fact that I might not get the 30th Pro. I'm hit or miss with that site. I've gone from queue in 30 secs from when a item officially drops to a out of stock item. I want the 30th for collection purposes but I know even at a $1,200 price tag. It won't last 10 secs.

I'll consider myself lucky if I can pull a regular pro at $699. I'm not worried about the 30th controllers though.
