I still got magazine's, tips and tricks and some other ones. Always wonder if they will be worth money one day but of course I know they won't. Also journalist back then were way better then these fools today.

Only if you were a PlayStation kid. I grew up on Nintendo, I got maybe 2 or 3 new games each year.

My parents never bought me an N64 because they wanted me to focus on school. I had the NES and Genesis. I rarely got new games (Birthdays mostly) and instead mainly just rented games. It wasn't all bad though because it forced me to discover the wealth of games on the PC side, which were cheaper and there were a lot of older games to enjoy like Civilization or Colonization. I didn't get back into console gaming until I went off to college and bought an Xbox (OG). After that I have been PS3 then PS4/5 primarily. Now that I am older I have all the consoles and play whatever I want.

100%

I felt it was time and grabbed GTA 5 for $20. I quit the game, could not get through the Trevor part. 0 redeemable qualities
I was the opposite. I started hating Trevor when I first met him but by the end of the game, he became my favorite character in it and I couldn't stand Michael and Franklin. Trevor really was the realist person in all of Los Santos.

I didn't particular like or dislike any of the characters, but one thing I hated about Trevor was just waking up in the middle of nowhere and areas without any vehicles. It's one thing when it's part of the story, but it's just annoying otherwise if you just wanna do random shit... any time that happened, I just switched back to Franklin or Michael.

When does the PSN holiday sale usually start? Xbox started this week, so I was hoping PS would be today or next week.
PSN I wanna know when does everything comes out about pricing at all stores. Wasn't everything out about game pricing shown early in the month or at least half way point. Guess ive been outta the BF spotlight for far to long.

Sony Direct offered release day delivery right? I just realized I'm gonna be out of town end of next week and I hate that UPS change delivery doesn't seem to work with a lot of packages...

I just beat it recently too. It was a slog for me at times. I loved 4 but 5 was okay to me. My biggest gripe is having to drive for long distances and then during missions if I fail, I'd have to drive all over again. This is a big factor as to why I don't want to touch Red Dead 2. I think of it as a horse riding Sim. Red Dead Redemption 1 killed me with the long horse rides. I don't know why they didn't just have fast teleport

All of my orders from PS direct are pending charge and shipment right now. When drop day happened I placed four separate orders over a couple hours. I didn’t know you could add to cart multiple items so when my queue time was up, I hastily added one item to cart and did a rapid checkout. Then back to queue and bought another item after.

There’s a PS Stars quest that nets 750 coins for buying Horizon Zero Dawn… anyone know if it unlocks when you buy the $10 upgrade if you own it? Thats a pretty hefty reward…

Yes it should, unfortunately don't have that quest. I have one for 200 coins with different PS5 pro enhanced games.

It should work, given that I read it worked when there was a rewards quest for TLOU2 remastered, buying the upgrade counted as buying the game.

That said...

Are you sure it's for Zero Dawn and not the sequel, Forbidden West? You're talking about the PS5 Pro quest right?

Yep, you’re right. Damn. Thought I was on to something.

I'll say it again: Best Buy's $599 LG B4 48" OLED is insane value.

and the type of thing people should look into doing, instead of getting another redundant console. Last year they had the $499 48" LG A2 around Christmas week and then it was never seen or heard from again. It's amazing what kind of high-midrange performance you can get for your money now.

Ubisoft updated Assassin's Creed Syndicate to let it run at 60 fps on PS5 and PS5 Pro.
Holy shit. Awesome news. The framerate is the reason I could never get into this game. I'll be giving it a go.

This is also one of the last Assassin Creeds to feature a Latin American Spanish translation (the later ones only have Spain Spanish), which is nice for people like me who are studying the language.

Bought the LG OLED CX in 2020 for the Series X and PS5. Still looks great to this day. Definitely happy with the hdmi 2.1 capability for 4k 120hz (this is pretty standard now but was new then).

Yep, used to like the TCL I first got for 4K HDR but then upgraded to a LG CX and haven’t looked back. Looked glorious then and still does. Quite happy with it and having VRR and 120hz. It does exactly what I need it to for gaming.

Legit don't understand why Ubisoft doesn't add 60fps to GR Wildlands as well. Game is so good but the fps is ass.

I need to replace my big screen living room TV which just broke permanently I think. I'm looking at 55" refurbs at Microcenter and hopefully I win my fantasy football league lol.

I have an LG C series OLED and it's incredible. Definitely upgrade your TV before upgrading your console to the Pro
Yeah, that TV (LG B4) basically has same specs (HDR and SDR nits brightness) as my 2021 48" C1 from exactly three years ago. Which costed $900 at best, but was typically $1000. So the 'price : performance' has really come a long ways, with these models now at $600. It's probably the most satisfying device I've ever owned.

Not sure if you saw this. There are some reviews on youtube but only 2x 2.1 HDMI ports. Sansui 55" OLED.

Also, if you can generate it (possibly may need VPN), there's a $50 off HDTV coupon floating around on that website too.

Might be an odd question but is there a way to tell what color a DualShock 4 is based on the model or something? I have one from... I dunno what, but it's this like, dark gray or maybe a dark gray-ish blue/green color that I really like but I cannot figure out what color it is. Model number is just CUH-ZCT2E, which seems like a generic model. There is no logo or anything special about it- so I don't think it's from some bundle.

Here's a pic of it between my (top) plain black controller and (bottom) Last of Us II edition controller. It seems very close to the color of the LoU II controller but more shiny.

I'm pretty sure that's gunmetal gray dualshock 4

Speaking of Micro Center, the virtual tour on their site is dope. I remember being blown away when I first went to one in the 90's.
Floor plan of that store before they relocated.

got the CX. how much am I missing out on now? How much better is the b4, g4, c4?

You aren't missing anything. Don't look at it that way. Yours even has the 120hz VRR and g-sync + freesync after firmware updates. Older models might have slightly more chance at burn-in but the risk seems almost nonexistent on my C1; all sorts of screen savers and auto shut-off.
The newer C-series models are getting a little brighter most every year and that's about it. Some years the A and B-series models have lesser processors but that doesn't seem to matter much. For once, the 2024 G4 actually has higher performance with much more brightness, but that wasn't the case in most years.

My C1 display only does about 750 nits brightness at most, and 300 nits in normal SDR TV show / movie environment and I have never once thought my set didn't look bright enough. Colors are brilliant. Your CX is brighter than the C1 even; they were worried about limiting brightness and associated burn-in on my year. 2021 C1 got a much lower review score than other years but I couldn't even really tell you why, or the differences.

These were considered high-end level televisions until just a couple years ago. I'm not sure what else has changed. When the best rated tv of this year has the same overall score, and it doesn't even do Dolby Vision. It doesn't matter than your LG OLED is a few years older.
