At half their prices I would think of them and I would still feel they're overpriced IMHO. The blocks are cute at least, but yeah they're not even made of a lot of parts so the building part is very minimal. Fanboys will still buy this garbo up.

I did that last week. I had a bunch of PSN credit I will never use so I just pre-ordered that. I did not even think about "what if its bad?" until this morning when I saw someone talking about the reviews coming soon. I am glad to see it is scoring well. I have been looking for this game before I even know it would even be made.
I was less worried about what if it was bad, and more whether I would want to (and have time to) play it right away. I beat Infinite Wealth over the weekend but still have some trophies to go after, but I'll put that on the back-burner for this.

I bought Baldurs Gate III on the Series X the other week... Luckily for me the game crashes every minute so I will have plenty of time for Astro.

I found two copies of Concord at Target today for $39.99. Two of the tech guys helped unlock them and they were all about discussing video games with me. When I got to the register the lady ringing me up got an error screen, and the POS denied the item scan. It had to print out receipts which she then taped to the cases which said "DO NOT SELL" in big letters.

It depends on how you redeem them unless that's changed. If you just click the download button on the system then no email. But if you do it through the web browser it gives a email since you are adding it to your cart and such.
I always claim them through the website, so that's seemingly no longer the case.

I found four at best buy. Didn't bother trying to buy one.

about ~23 Concord games on PS5 have been sold today with an avg. sold price of about ~$100. While there's about ~120 listings still available, after you filter out the controllers and other stuff.

That's right, the sealed coaster is currently selling for $100. As a collectors item fad. People are seeing the twitter memes and then buying a copy, in order to be a part of it.

They are all thinking that it's going to be valuable in 10 to 15 years, when in reality it's going to be some random game like:

"Mon-Yu: Defeat Monsters And Gain Strong Weapons And Armor. You May Be Defeated, But Don’t Give Up. Become Stronger. I Believe There Will Be A Day When The Heroes Defeat The Devil King"

(and yes that is the actual title)

I'm actually curious, are there any online focused games that, once shut down, physical copies are sudden in demand? I suddenly though of Lawbreakers and how worthless copies of that game came to be once it shut down...

Fangamer has an Astro plush and Good smile is re-releasing the rare Astro Nindoroid in 2025 for those looking for cool Astro merch.

My game and controller arrived today. It's pretty damn good so far. To those who picked it up...Enjoy!

We need pit them in a thunderdome with all the people who bought a physical copy of Lawbreakers for our amusement.

Do they advertise video games anymore or am I just not paying attention?

With all the Astro Boy attention, I don't think I saw a since ad on TV nor online (computer has uBlock but I see tons of ads on mobile). For FF Rebirth, I remember there was at least that one "mental health help" commercial or whatever. I can't even recall the last game where I saw a major add campaign (maybe NCAA 25?).

I've seen a decent amount of Star Wars Outlaws ads online (I do use an adblocker but not all sites). I think the last game I saw really everywhere including TV was Elden Ring. I have seen like 1 or 2 online ads for Astro Bot (will get sometime later this month is a bit too packed already....maybe by the end of the year for me). I think so much word of mouth from places such as those impressions and such is really how game hype gets around these days. Also Nintendo games get a lot of online ads. I've been seeing quite a bit of online ads for the new Legend of Zelda game coming this month and the Mario & Luigi game lately.

I've read some big game predictions this month for PS premium including God of war Ragnarok, Atomic heart, Gran Turismo 7, Last of us part one. I would love for Ragnarok to finally get here. Haven't played it yet, but absolutely loved God of war.

I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I was thinking the same thing regarding the whole Concord ordeal. Granted I don't watch a ton of TV (just YouTube and apps like Pluto and Tubi) but I didn't know anything about Concord until the custom controller came out. Hearing about all the work and time that went into it, you'd think they'd follow up with some kind of ad campaign. Listening to a podcast where they suggested Sonycould've seen the failure coming in advance and it makes sense if they felt it wasn't worth it to advertise.

I also avoid watching commercials as best I can so I do not know what is aired on TV. I always assumed most companies would find it cheaper to just send a few hundred game codes out to influencers and let them advertise for their games for free. If the game is not good maybe through some money to the influencer along with with the game to say it is fun.

Well here we go. On one hand, I'm excited to see what the Pro is.. on the other, I'm also at a loss for what new game, if any, that they could possibly show for it to get me excited to spend $$$$ on it.
Without a disc drive I am out on this upgrade. Guess we will see. And the notion to purchase the disc drive separately like with the digital is dumb

A PS5 Pro, assuming more than $500, is going to have to really sell it's ass off to convince anyone but the biggest nerds.

Is it a flex to just say they've got the most powerful console on the market?

And if it's digital only, absolutely not, go 🦆 yourself. I'll be done with consoles with carts and discs die.

Oh yeah, if it's digital only than no chance from me. And even if it's not a native disc drive, that's also a no chance unless it's super cheap... needing to online-active the disc drive in the updated PS5 is some grade A bullshit hardware DRM.
