lol.

wow, thanks Sony. I'm not sure what my favorite part about the 30th anniversary was. Having no chance to get a 30th Pro? Not being able to get a 30th digital console, even tho I'm very good at getting limited drops, and them distributing none of them through traditional retail channels. Or was it these neat themes which they are now taking away, bc reasons? Happy 30th to all the fans! In celebration, SquareEnix is heading firmly towards publishing on other platforms.

Periodically check as sometimes they just don't have the padlock anymore due to some glitch and become free without having plus. I have a few on ps4 including yakuza 6 that randomly did that.
Yakuza 6 was in Extra, not Essential, and already left, so unless you bought the game, you won't be able to play it.

I wonder what level of involvement Hulst had in approving Sony's big games as a service push that has failed spectacularly even beyond Concord
He unfortunately was gung-ho about Concord and really thought it was going to be big for them. The demotion is partially his fault but the deck was already stacked.

I still have no man's sky for psvr 2 just sitting there waiting for me to play it. From what I've heard, it's so incredibly amazing that it will suck up all of your time. I'm a little scared to start LOL
I’ve got ballpark about 25 hours into the game so far and I’m just shy of “starting the game”. I was just about to discover the Space Anomaly when I had to stop playing and just haven’t had time to go back.

But it’s been pretty awesome so far which is why it’s taken me so long to get going. Just been having fun exploring. I’d say watch a beginner tips video so you aren’t so overwhelmed. There are a lot of mechanics to get used to

At this point they could re-release it with everything for $100 and I wouldn't even flinch at buying it. They've beyond redeemed themselves. Their next game I'll buy day one in support.
what's ironic is I did buy this Day 1, but now with everyhting added to it, it feels overwhelming to attempt to play again

Don't spend $70 on it though. It will be 50% off by the end of the year when FH6 rolls out on Xbox. 😁
If PGG just gets rid of the weekly playlists to unlock the new cars and lets them all be available in the car shop I would say it is worth $70. But obviously if you waited this long to play it you can wait a bit longer for a sale.

FH5 was leaked a while back. Awesome now we have confirmation it is official. Game is awesome. Def a day 1 buy.
Eh, anyone with a brain could read between the awkward lines when they had to have a special townhall meeting about Indy and the other few games that were leaked as multi-plat. MS is really tearing down the silicon curtain and I love it.

They said future games will be day one for PS5 or Switch 2. Indiana Jones is only coming later because how far they were in development.
I think it may vary by game. South of Midnight for instance hasn’t even been announced for PlayStation. Same with Avowed. Have not seen anything that says every future game will be on PS day one.

Have a source?
It was one of those discord leakers, and months later more people are collaborating that games that are in early stage of development cycle has switched to multiplatform, and games that are further ahead will eventually go multiplatform if the system is able to support it.

Then I really do not need to hold onto my X any longer and can stop paying for Game Pass. Sounds like a win-win to me
I'm right there with you, I got a ps5 back in September I believe, and have been watching closely to see what happens, but this finally feels like its the right time. Ill be sad to see my xbox and all the money I had invested in it go since I have two years of game pass and 1100 owned games on it but it just doesn't make sense to have both anymore at this point.

GamePass will definitely keep me getting an Xbox as there’s just too many great games coming day one on it and it continues to be a good value for me. But love my PS5 too and glad that sole PlayStation gamers will be able to experience games like FH5.

PS getting Xbox games doesn’t really change my outlook but should help MS right the ship with their gaming division. So win-win to me.

MS and Sony need to just bite the bullet and let GamePass come to PS. Shit would print money, or add it into the PSN ecosystem for an up charge. MS needs to ditch console making and focus on delivering their software to current successful platforms. It is a no brainer.

Most of their games (Bethesda) are already on PS+ for the foreseeable future, so they'd have to start porting a lot more games to PS5 to be worth a $20+ subscription service fee since it's not like the Xbox version of the service is all that great unless you love every single game they put out. Bringing out Doom in a few months, Indiana Jones whenever, and Ninja Gaiden 4 whenever is not really enough.

But it’s a lot more than just Microsoft games. The past week or so GamePass got Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, Eternal Strands, Citizen Sleeper 2, Sniper Elite: Resistance and Orcs Must Die Deathtrap.

And there’s a lot of other third party games announced for GamePass this year like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

I’ve never had to pay full price for GamePass but I do think it is a good value and to point out just a few MS games as “not really enough” is disingenuous.

Yeah, but only one of those games would be coming to Game Pass on PS5 for January. That would be it for the one month. $20 for that is too much. I'm sure they'd like to have Game Pass on PS5 because then MS Rewards freeloaders would have no way to cut corners on it, so they'd get a better profit than the various tricks on Xbox and PC.

The way I see it is that what gamepass offers compared to what Playstation already offers (extra/premium) isn't all that different outside of the Xbox exclusives, so bringing gamepass to Playstation isn't all that compelling unless you're interested in all the XB exclusives (and the other games here and there like ninja gaiden coming to GP)

I don't understand this mentality. Doesn't it make sense for the 1100 games and what you spent on them to keep the Xbox?

The Messenger got a free PS5 upgrade for those that own the PS4 version:

Xbox as a console maker is done. They might go the OEM route and license out the Xbox name to Lenovo or MSI or whoever to take some random parts and slap Xbox on it, but I would bet the house that Microsoft themselves will not release another home console.

Forza Horizon is actually a much bigger seller than Halo or Gears these days. That's why they are launching it first.

I get it. I traded in my switch and walked away from Nintendo (and their subscription) despite owning games on it. Some money is better than something collecting dust that I know I will not play.

As far as MS games coming to PS (for me) it is not that compelling. Having owned Xbox over the years I have played through Halo and Gears. I had said that once Palworld came to PS I would buy it, but never have. As far as Forza goes, I am not a huge racing fan and already have Gran turismo.

I think it's lucky for Game Pass to get Sniper day 1, but by the time I get around to playing that it will be on sale for the PS5.

I was always under the impression that Game Pass was supposed to encourage people to buy games like they were on an extended demo, but feels more like you can play, beat, and forget it before it leaves Game Pass.

Another live service bites the dust. It’s almost like chasing that GTA Online/Fortnite money is actually harder than the C-suites think it is…

Exactly, unfortunately its sitting around is not doing much for me. If I do sell it I would probably by a dualshock edge, and additional memory for my pro. It does pain me to see all that money wasted but I game share with a buddy (who I have been friends with all my life) on playstation since I switched back and have access to nearly all my games that I had on xbox. In the end I only switched to xbox during the xbox one because my brother in law switched and he was the main person I played with at the time and he and I are both coming back to ps.

MS games coming over doesn't do a ton for me at this very moment as I've played most their stuff but in the future its huge being able to play all the great sony games I've missed out on over the last 10 years while still being able to catch all the ms games is fantastic.

Also another factor in my decision I just don't have time for two consoles like I thought I might. I keep telling myself ok Tuesday nights is going to be my xbox night but then I end up just playing ps anyways. Im pushing 40 and have two kids and just don't have the time like I used to unfortunately, I would love to keep them both but in the end I play for like two ish hours a night so I'll keep the console that has both games.
Wow that was quick has it even been a year since they brought it back? Atleast they're letting offline play be a thing

It's a hard sell because of PSN, like opening a Blockbuster stand in the back of a GameStop. Walking in the door you can either buy a game or go to the back and rent a bunch for a fee. Sony would be losing money at that point so they would expect compensation, a first for Game Pass since it pays nothing anywhere else. Tricky balance, that one.

Sony will never allow Game Pass on their platform, at least not a full version of it. If Microsoft made a chopped down curated version of it with only their own games on it like EA Play then I can see Sony agreeing to it.
