Yeah, most of the special edition Dualsense are. Going to get it because I am a fan of the series.

how about we post direct links instead of nonsense redirects?

I was going to skip it as I agree it is ugly… I loathe the white joysticks and the white wolf. I only preordered it today because I have the two limited editions from PS direct of the first two games.

It’s a new game and they’ve said it will keep the same style of gameplay of what you’d expect from SH but just in a Japanese setting.
Not feeling it tbh. Part of why Silent Hill worked was the world building based on actual events. Adds a sort of creepiness knowing there are worldly ties to hell unleashed. This just looks visually like every horror/ghost story to come out of Japan, like Juon or Dark Water.

Update for God of War Ragnarok and the game is on PS+ Game Catalog now.

Dark Odyssey Collection – In-Game Update for God of War Ragnarök

Release Date: Thursday, March 20

As a gift to everyone who owns God of War Ragnarök, on March 20th we will be releasing an update for all players on PlayStation and PC that includes the Dark Odyssey collection at no additional cost.

Inspired by the working name of God of War (2005) and the skin that originally appeared in God of War II as a reward for beating the game on God Mode difficulty, we are bringing the classic black and gold theme for the 20th anniversary.

Once the update is live, you’ll be able access the collection below from any Lost Items chest in the base game or automatically while in Valhalla.

Dark Odyssey Armor & Appearance for Kratos

  • Dark Odyssey Kratos Appearance
  • Dark Odyssey Armor Set for Kratos (Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Dark Odyssey Bracers, Dark Odyssey Belt)

Dark Odyssey Companion Armor

  • Dark Odyssey Vestment for Atreus
  • Dark Odyssey Witch Frock for Freya

Dark Odyssey Weapon Appearances & Attachments*

  • Dark Odyssey Leviathan Axe [Appearance] & Dark Odyssey Knob [Attachment]
  • Dark Odyssey Blades of Chaos [Appearance] & Dark Odyssey Handles [Attachment]
  • Dark Odyssey Draupnir Spear [Appearance] & Dark Odyssey Hind [Attachment]

Dark Odyssey Shield Appearances & Rönd

  • Dark Odyssey Guardian Shield [Appearance]
  • Dark Odyssey Dauntless Shield [Appearance]
  • Dark Odyssey Stone Wall Shield [Appearance]
  • Dark Odyssey Shatter Start Shield [Appearance]
  • Dark Odyssey Onslaught Shield [Appearance]
  • Dark Odyssey Spartan Aspis Shield [Appearance]
  • Dark Odyssey Rönd
*Please note, the weapon appearances are made for the fully upgraded version of each weapon and will only be available for use upon reaching that upgrade.

Edit Appearance for Weapon & Shield Attachments

With the addition of the new Dark Odyssey weapon attachments and shield rönd in the upcoming patch on March 20, we will add the ability to use the ‘Edit Appearance’ feature on those components of Kratos’ arsenal.

You’ll be able to pick whatever visual suits your look with the functionality you want for your build.

PlayStation Plus

For PlayStation Plus Members, God of War Ragnarök is available now on the Game Catalog for PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra Members* at no additional cost.

God of War (2018) is also included in the Game Catalog (Extra and Premium members) and God of War III Remastered is part of the Classics Catalog (Premium Members).

Sounds like "leakers" were wrong again when they predicted a God of War legacy collection. I just don't get why Sony ignores their older games. We'll probably get a remaster of God of War 2018 in a couple years while the original trilogy goes ignored.

That looks amazing!

Did you see an unboxing video for the controller? I’d say it’s one of my favorites. Beautiful ‘etching’ along the sides. The cover though…. It’s boring for a ‘limited edition’. I already own the black slim plates. This is the same thing with a tiny sticker slammed on the bottom plate. Just my collector-itis would irk me to no end if I didn’t have the set.

If the Last of Us Remake and Horizon ZD Remasters sold well, then of course Sony will prob try to push out more remakes/remasters... it would be a dumb business decision not to.

And I'll be the first to say it, I didn't think either LoU Remake or the HZD Remaster would be worth looking at if you already played the originals but after actually seeing them in person and then go back to the originals, you can see that there's a significant noticeable difference. Whether or not the price is worth admission though, is up to you (it's not to me, unless LoU hits $20 and HZD is $10).

I'd rather Sony do original, SP games or unique MP games... but if not those, then I'd rather Sony do remakes/remasters of good games vs shit like line of service/subscription/micro-transaction games.

there really isn't that much money in older games. heck, they can barely make money on new ones that aren't huge releases.

Most remasters have gone straight to the woot clearance bin lately. It's also the stuff that sits on Amazon for years, for $18-$29. Plus, these companies have pushed everyone into service gaming, and are now struggling with the results from their own endeavors. A lot of people login for just their one hangout spot now.

These are the results from assassinating the slow poisoning of single-player and offline / physical game publishing. Everything is just incomplete gaming experiences now. Day1 downloads, planned or carved dlc, online required, constant updates, and worst of all, shipped or disc-authored incomplete. Just like the state of things on PC. The industry has trained us to 'not buy games' anymore; wait for the Platinum or complete edition on discount instead. Sony isn't really even known for their definitive single-player experiences any longer either. They stopped cultivating that garden. There has been almost nothing notable, let alone culturally historically relevant during the previous five years. So the public's attitude now is just: "you can wait and get it later, better on PC".

This is the endgame from screwing your day1 supporters. People wait for complete games and massive price drops. There are too many games and there's not enough attention to go around.

I think it depends on the gamer that you are. Went through a string where played GoW Ragnarok, Horixon FW, Hogwarts Legacy, and the Spiderman 2...all great experiences. Even played through Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad and I was entertained. None of these games did I purchase any of the DLC, or skins, or whatever. I know I will not play multiplayer (except for CoD and College Football) and currently enjoying Dynasty Warriors Origins and Sniper Elite Resistance.

To say games are all turning into live service is looking at the industry one way. There are plenty of other experiences. Remins me of all the people complaining about PGA 2k25. Read one review who said it well. If you enjoy the game is it really a grind?

I'm streaming some MLB The Show 25 if you want to see that in action.

Edit: Here's the archive. Enjoying it a lot so far, as they've made some nice changes to various parts of the game. Diamond Dynasty no longer has seasons, so you won't have the special cards that become unusable in a number of the single-player and multiplayer DD modes for the rest of the year. The new Diamond Quest game is a neat spin on the Conquest/XCOM-style mode but with a quicker pace and a roguelite risk of losing rewards you earn if you don't reach the end point of the map.

Road to the Show has some of the biggest changes, as they've gotten rid of the combine games from the start and replaced them with a high school state tournament, MLB Combine, and College World Series series of games you can play before getting to play professional baseball at the team of your choice. Through the high school games, you'll find out if any of the colleges offer a scholarship and if any MLB teams are interested in drafting you, which can continue in the MLB Combine as you get more of a spotlight with the various teams that might be interested in. From there, you pick a college team to commit to and then go to the draft, where you get a choice of either sticking with the team that drafted you at a lower spot than you might get if you go to college while missing out on three years of potential progress. I was surprised that your attributes don't get a small bump to cover the progress your coaches and the commentators talk about seeing in your game, but you do get some skill tokens to spend on stats.

How your attributes improve is the other big change as they've gotten rid of the system that's been in place for a while where your stats would just increase or decrese automatically as you play well or poorly, but they've gone to a hybrid system that keeps all of the little XP bonuses and deductions for the little things you do and turns that XP into skill tokens you spend on your attributes similarly to how the PS2/PS3 games worked. You get the option of spending those tokens on a category of attributes that adds one point to each attribute or you can spend tokens on individual stats if you know specific things you want to improve. They've also gotten rid of the perk cards that were in recent games and just have perks that unlock that you can spend those same tokens to progress through a perk's mini skill tree that can add additional stat bonuses. Equipment is still around, but instead of improving attributes, they just give a flat % improvement of all perks of certain types (hitting, fielding, pitching, etc). Once you get going in your career, you'll get a package of equipment every so often or you can spend DD currency on packages. The dynamic challenge stuff can also get you added XP and token bonuses for completing them.

Gameplay-wise, they've added a number of new options and such. PCI users have a new thing called Ambush hitting where you can push the right stick left or right to predict whether the ball will go inside or outside of the plate, which makes the cursor increase or shrink on that side off the plate. I'm not big on cursor-based hitting, so I gave it a shot for a while and turned it off. If you're baserunning in RTTS or locked player modes, they now show a ribbon of where a pitch in the dirt will roll to help you better see if it'll roll away from the catcher or not so you can try to get an extra base or not. You can also play your fielding position in RTTS in first-person if that interests you, though I find the third-person camera to still be too zoomed in enough to not want to do first-person.

Storylines has three new Negro League players and more fun story from Bob Kendrick that is great with three more being added in April and May. I haven't played Franchise yet since I wait until the season rosters are ready.

Is this a good podcast? Are there any good PlayStation podcasts I should be listening to? I used to listen to podcast beyond but now one of the hosts there is taking over multiple podcasts and is incredibly annoying and I cannot stand them so I can't watch podcast beyond or Nintendo voice chat anymore. I miss my Sony news and discussion so can this board please point me to a good Sony podcast?

I don't mind remasters, but I would rather they remaster games that need it. Since they can't figure out how to make PS3 games run native on PS5 they should give us remaster collections. And if there was a Naughty Dog game that needed a remake it was Uncharted 1. It is almost unplayable today IMO.

I personally still like Drake's fortune through the Nathan Drake collection, but it's probably since I have nostalgia for uncharted 1 being my first PS3 game. A remake would be awesome, but I've beaten that game like 10 times.

Pretty sure this will trigger some people here, but I've been listening to Sacred Symbols: A PlayStation Podcast since it launched 350 episodes ago, and it's great. No one knows PlayStation like Colin M.!

Even if it came with a digital copy would be better. I will likely NEVER buy a LE without the game unless it's very cheap and I love said game.

I'm guessing it won't be as limited as the Spiderman CE. Hopefully it gets discounted down the road
I was debating selling all my TLoU stuff, and I got curious and took a look at that Firefly Edition. Thing is listed around $365 on eBay. Sold ones are a bit lower but thing is only worth what someone would be willing to pay for it. Had no idea it jumped that high. Might be a good time to offload and put the money elsewhere.

The demand will probably go back up once Season 2 of The Last of Us starts next month.

I got a damaged Firefly Ed preorder from Sony and was able to find a better copy on eBay for like barely anything over MSRP- this was just after release and the Remaster was getting a lot of flack for "remastered too soon/barely noticeable upgrade" campaign... and then season 1 of the show came out and I was able to dump my damaged original preorder copy for like 3x more.

Of course... I never watched the show but I'm really curious as to if season 2 of the show decides to make certain decisions that Part II made and/or how close it follows Part II.

Retro Fighter's spotty quality control aside, unless the d-pad is really good for games like fighters (and going by the render, it doesn't look great), I don't know what the advantage of getting this over a Brook adapter to use a DualShock 4 or DualSense. I use a DualShock 4 with my PS2 via the Brook adapter and feels perfect for it.
