Given how much more limited my gaming time is, I can't help but just want it to be as enjoyable as possible... and I have an inexplicable desire to buy a PS5 Pro.

But my TV is just old enough that it's missing VRR (was really hope Sony would add Freesync which my TV does support) and my receiver is older but with audio, could just run a separate connection. Crazy, it feels like I just bought them and was hoping OLED prices would drop by now. But guessing traffics are gonna cause both console and TV prices to shoot up... :(

You’re right, time is finite, especially for ‘older’ gamers. Though OLEDs have been cheap for ages now. We are all in different stages of life and incomes of course.

Last year I upgraded everything… LG G3 77 inch, new Denon 6800H 4k120hz receiver, and recently the new PS5 Pro. With finite time, I don’t want to ‘waste’ it playing games at a lesser quality.

On the other side of that argument, outside of the first hour of play after I upgraded everything it doesnt look any different to me now. You grow accustom to what you have. If I played games side by side and compared I am sure there would be a difference but I don't. If I upgraded just to upgrade and not because I wanted a smaller tv and some of the HDMI ports were failing in my receiver I would have been regretful of the cost and slight improvement I see.

I, for sure do not enjoy my gaming time any more than I did before I upgraded.

I mean this is the other side of things... I'd be spending a lot of money for something I'd likely only enjoy for like 3-4 hours a week. Thanks for bringing me back down to Earth bro.

I still game on my Samsung 1080p 55" TV from 2015 and don't plan on upgrading until it dies. Picture and color still look great on it. I have the base PS5 and most games run fine. I haven't played anything that looked grainy or blurry yet. Horizon FW did have some issues at launch but they fixed those. I used to be in the I need the latest and greatest tech but as I get older I just care about playing games. I have a lot of other things I need to waste money on that gaming is for me now do it as cheaply as possible. I bought a switch lite since I didn't plan on playing it on the TV and even though some ports are downgraded (graphics/FPS) on there I've been having a blast with it.

But oooohhh so pretty

Yes, you do get used to the PS5 Pro just like when you buy a new TV.

The only thing that I can really tell a difference on is the load times. Not a big deal, although somethines the things (facts, hints, gameplay) that companies put into the loading screens go by too fast for me to read.

Used my Gamestop credit from flipping some consoles to get a PS5 Pro. I was going to wait for some sort of bundle or LE. Bring on the 1000% tariffs!

PlayStation has silently rolled out new Animated Backgrounds for the PS5 Welcome tab to select users!

I want to be a select user for this! I love me some animated backgrounds. 😍

Anyone know how to find out if we have this option and what to do to make it work?

I don't get why they wouldn't just provide this to everyone? Stuff like this and the whole PS anniversary themes being limited time are just so stupid to me....

Maybe people shouldn't put twitter posts and instead put a direct link. :sneaky:

I almost missed March's games... thought I added them but when I went to check, only because Apr free games announcement seemed kinda late. Hopefully I actually was able to redeem March games, haven't gotten the emails yet even though it shows as them as "in library".

Blue Prince is out now for PS+ Extra and Premium members:

Odd thing is the controller is still available to order today. It must be either canceled orders or Sony made too many. So much for a ‘limited edition’ controller. Mine just got delivered today.

Also just ordered the “COMPLETE” edition though here’s a doozy…. I own the firefly and the WFG edition. And the CEs on PS4. And probably a PS3 version too. Crazy thing…..? Never once played either game.

The real question is will you get the remastered mastered PS6 Last of Us edition.

I played about an hour of the first game and still don't understand the hype over it or the TV show that now has a Season 3 announced

it's very interesting that they already announced season 3. i know there was talk about splitting the 2nd game into 2 seasons, so i don't know if that it what they are doing but if they are just banking on the popularity staying high once "it" happens, I don't know that the casual watcher will be happy at the end of the 2nd season. but you didn't play it so you don't know what im talking about anyway.

Vampire Survivors got a big free update today along with free DLC that is SaGa: Emerald Beyond themed:

12+ New Characters
An eclectic cast of bizarre SaGa protagonists join the Survivors, including:
Tsunanori Mido - A fate-forged master of Kugutsu combat puppets.
Ameya Aisling - An undercover witch searching for her lost magic (and cats)
Bonnie & Formina - A duo of daring detectives who fight side-by-side with fists and firearms.
Diva No.5 - A songstress mech forsaken for singing a forbidden melody, travelling between different worlds (and robotic bodies) to rediscover her memories.
And Many More! - including a teacher of heroes, an Emperor unthawed, and a Dismal King with some bloodthirsty tendencies...

16+ New Weapons & the Glimmer mechanic
40 new ways to attack, including base weapons, evolutions, and the sensational Glimmer mechanic from the SaGa series. Whenever you attack with these weapons, there's a chance to spontaneously learn a special technique through the Glimmer system. Swords, magics, punches, and missiles: all the variety of SaGa gets represented!
Fleuret - stab enough encroaching enemies and you'll Glimmer the Crystalline Carve, letting you freeze foes whilst cutting them down.
Pressure Point - unleash a barrage of martial arts blows at close range to Glimmer the far-reaching fire jab Shenlong Firefist.
Hecaton Machine Gun - shoot a blistering salvo of interestingly inaccurate bullets to Glimmer the Bombarding Fire technique, blasting baddies with a massive upheaval of the earth.
Hyperion Bazooka - master these high-power missiles that explode as they penetrate through hordes of foes to Glimmer the Cosmic Rave to massively multiply your firepower.

Character parties
No JRPG DLC is complete without a squad of odd allies to pal around with. Level up Tsunanori Mido to summon up to 4 Kugutsu combat puppets, fighting independently with their own weapons in a defensive cross formation. Pick either Bonnie or Formina to play as both intrepid investigators, combining punches and pistols for a powerful partnership. And in the darkness of Yomi, rumours swirl of a Dismal King who can enthral defeated foes to make his own army of allies...

Showstopper
Survivors never give up! When a SaGa character reaches critical HP they fight back from the brink with a Showstopper, a brief burst of bonus Might, decreased Cooldown, and a little extra Luck to help them survive whatever precarious situation you’ve put them in with a tempest of powered-up projectiles.

A New World-Weaving Stage
Follow the Emerald Wave through a diorama of interwoven worlds, the perfect setting to walk sideways while mowing down masses of unusual monsters and bonkers bosses.

Remixes of Stupendous SaGa: Emerald Beyond Tracks
A Fierce Engagement
A Quick Warm-Up
Against All Odds
CCPD, Moving Out!
Darkness Incarnate
Emerald Destinies
Feel The Beat
The World's Heartbeat

New announcements from the Triple-i Initiative showcase that happened today:

And some other announcements:

I played about an hour of the first game and still don't understand the hype over it or the TV show that now has a Season 3 announced
You barely touched the greatness of the game. The first hour is a flashback and mostly cutscenes. You have not given the game a fair chance honestly. Get to playing son!
It’s in my top 5 games list!!!
