I feel like digital game prices don't seem to plummet to super low levels anymore. I've had a ton of games on my wishlist since release and they just refuse to go below like a certain threshold from the original price. Chrono Cross HD is one I don't think I've seen below $8 and I am Setsuna I haven't seen below $11 I think.
It depends on the publisher. EA, Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, and others go hard on 80-95% off on their games at some point.

I have had that Grandia collection on my wishlist for several years and I have never seen it drop below $20. See the graph at the link below. I feel like it will never go below $20 if that helps you decide on whether to wait or buy now.

the switch version came out before the playstation version and it hasn't dropped below $20 either.

Yeah, I was waiting for sub $10 on Setsuna, and have been waiting a looooong time. Thanks to all for the Grandia feedback. Will probably bite before the sale's up. I missed playing some of these non SquareSoft series, so I'm glad they're getting updated. Keeping the Suikoden Collection on my radar, as well as the Lunar Series remaster too.

I let my PS+ end last year after 6 years of getting it for $30-$40 during black friday and stacking it. If they're never going to let us locally backup our PS5 saves then please give us a plan for $15-$20 a year for cloud storage only.

You can backup your saves to a USB device? I've been doing this for a while now.
He saying back up saves individually without backing up the whole system. Considering they probably will never make online play free they need to do a barebones tier cause I dont care about the "free" games I just want to play 2 fighting games online every now and then, back up save data every now and then and maybe use discount every now and then nothing else matter behind the paywall

nah I quit for over one year now and I feel grrrrreat!

I quit to for like over a year but fighting games is my thing. So I had caved after a couple of month of getting SF6 last year and paid $25 for 3 months. I enjoyed the time but I also regretted wasting that $25 for that short amount of time. Also those f2p weekend is BS cause I tried playing on one of those weekends and it wouldnt let me play. Sony is keeping me from buying MK1 right now because of there BS subs.

The bigger problem for me is that Marathon looks really cool. But I don't believe I could support another Bungie game again after the habitual, endless monetization of Destiny 2. It was that predatory. People don't like spending $100 annually on expansions, that are not complete expansions, which you constantly give away to new customers for free after the 1year is up. When people buy expansions, support the game with annual fees, they don't want to login and see everything locked behind additional paywalls as micro and macrotransactions.

I'm trying my hardest not to play additional new service games. Think about how Bungie has been charging $200 for the previous two years of Destiny, in addition to dungeon passes and all paid character customization, while they spent that entire time working on developing Marathon and not the game that premium subscribers were paying for and supporting. Just stringing everyone along with dripfed content which was already 80%+ completed.

Oh Marathon will be the bees knees on release week. But it never ends well. I don't need that kind of distaste and regret in my life any longer. MMOs / publishers that have made you quit with extreme prejudice. That's what Bungie is now and customers need to understand that. Think about how they sold a $100 expansion pack to customers each and every year even though there wasn't one.

Yeah Sony is legit out of the loop. Having to backup everything completely is a hassle, I've lost saves tones of times because of power outages and what not. I agree they need to have some type of subscription for cloud saves. Paying for a playstation subscription has become a hassle.

Like others have said the way to do it now is very inconvenient. You would need to do a system restore from the backup for your saves. That's too much of a hassle either give us a cheaper sub for cloud storage only or let us back up our saves locally to a USB drive like you can with PS4 saves. I know their reason is hacking but PS5 has already been compromised on lower firmware. Just seems like they locked it behind a sub for money. I know Nintendo locks cloud save backups behind their sub too but it's only 20 for a year or cheaper if you join someone's family plan.

Going back and forth on snagging Lunar. I remember never getting the chance to play it when I was a kid, but now the cheap ass in me is like do I wait for a sale or dive in now lol?
I went ahead and bought now. Hardly cheapass, I know, but cheaper than buying physicals of the original releases, and in this world of declining physical releases, I'd like to encourage more such, not fewer.

My Apple backup is $1 for 50gb and that still irks me every month. This greed over storage and online access is why consoles are dying. For things like Game Pass I don't even consider online part of that package in terms of value, because I have a PC. PS+ (at the time) holding saves hostage and online access were one of the reasons I dumped the service and stopped using the console. Now at least they're mimicking some day one releases with 3rd party but for my money still wouldn't be worth it.

Cloud saves (within reason) and online should be free, period.
