I'm 27 and this will be my first Pokemon game. Hopefully it takes awhile to complete, because I want this to last til' around Final Fantasy 3's release. I just called Gamestop's corp office and they won't pricematch Circuit City's price. I was hoping they would, so I could use some credit. Oh well, I'll go tonight after class and pick it up at Circuit City.
Mystery Dungeon isn't a typical Pokemon game. It's more like Nethack, but with Pokemon characters. I'm loving the gameplay so far, since it seems to be faithful to nethack, except that your "pet" pokemon doesn't eat the corpses of defeated pokemon, like how your pets do in real nethack =(
The only complaint I have so far is that the UI is AWFUL. I'm playing the DS version and it seems like they just slapped on DS functionality at the end.
The top screen, instead of half of it used for a message log and half of it for party stats, by default only shows party stats. The dungeon map, if you want to see it at all is overlayed on top of the bottom screen, which is also where the action takes place, so it gets so busy there.
I wish they would just add in a toggle for the dungeon map with one of the unused buttons.
