Since I thought the cheap 3DS games thread was a good idea. I thought I would start one for the PS Vita. I will maintain this site a few times a day going forward. Post links up to new deals and I will add them to the OP. Anyhow, here we go:

Agreed^

Recently, Amazon JP has seemed to be the go to spot, as the prices have been just under $200 shipped, and you have a much wider choice of colors. I imported mine from NCSX here in the states a few years back, and it's been one of my favorite imported systems of all time. A lot of the Japanese color schemes are really cool. Another missed opportunity by Sony here in the US.

 
Thanks! Great idea and one I hadn't thought of. I'll keep a look out. Was hoping at this point we might see them getting clearanced out for $100 but looks like they are still going for roughly $200 new.

They've already been clearanced/sold out at NA retailers and are no longer made for NA. That's why Amazon.jp is recommended for a new system.
 
The leftover western stock came into high demand when a piracy exploit was found. The manufacturing had stopped a couple months prior so it quickly went out of stock where it had gotten as low as $169.

I got my first Vita at $130 in 2013 because AT&T were dumping their 3G stock like it was a phone. Then I've purchased several PSTV units on clearance from $20-50 depending on the sale date.

 
Does anyone know if Vitas manufactured for the Asia region (not JP) come with the O/X button flip in the main OS? I feel like most Asia English games I have follow the NA style, but can't find an answer for these regions Vitas.

That's a good question actually, as I don't think I've ever seen it asked before. If I had to guess, I would say it's the same, as the X & O, has to do with X being seen as NO, and the O being seen as YES. Which I believe it was stated here in the past deals with Asian language and or culture. But it may be the other way as well, as my only experience with an Asia based system are the NA region 3DS they sell, and those are the same as the US.

I would suggest contacting Heavy Arm, as they deal with tons of Asia products, as well as systems, and they could probably say for sure one way or another.

 
Likely YMMV, but picked up Shantae Half Genie Hero Risky Beats, sealed, for the preowned price.

Not sure if gamestops are starting to mark them that way or it was simply a mistake, but just a heads up,
 
Does anyone know why or if Axiom Verge Multiverse is truly out of stock at Amazon? I was hoping to get it after the next paycheck, but looks like I might be sol.

The game was a digital voucher inside a physical case. Asia has a physical release. Baseball is also played in other countries. There is a World Baseball Classic every four years.

There was an Asia English release, and that was it I believe. I guess they figured a title like this would do better on home consoles, due to the big screen. It's not like disappointment isn't the order of the day when it comes to the Vita. I was happy to get the Asia release, and say fuck Digital, but sadly that isn't always an option.

Baseball is called America's national sport, but if anyone deserves to call it that, it's the Cubans, they're completely nuts over it. The Japanese love baseball way more than Americans, too.
 
I got a cheap PSTV today New in the box. Is it worth installing Henkakuat this point? I heard you can use regular flash drives for memory cards which would be neat
 
Thanks for the responses. Looks like the Yomawari preorder is unavailable also. Maybe it's just a pre-order thing and they'll become available again. The power of positive thinking and what not.

Yeah, I think when a titles release date moves, or changes without any new estimate, they remove it. A few days back, the Shovel Knight art book vanished from Amazon, only to return with a push back release date, and a slightly higher price than before.

So for some of these regular titles that are being removed, I'm sure it has to do with something behind the scenes, as no way some of these titles have sold out(but it could have happened in a few cases).

Something else may be going on as it appears most, if not ALL, upcoming games from NIS America, Atlus, Badland Games, and Nicalis (along with a few other small publishers) can no longer be preordered on Amazon. There is no way they all sold out recently so its definitely odd.

I have heard cases in the past where Amazon and certain movie studios got in a disagreement and those studios' movies were no longer able to be preordered on Amazon but not sure if that is what is going on here. If it is, then pretty shitty move on Amazon's part as a lot of these smaller companies get a huge chunk of their sales from Amazon (and Gamestop).

so first party is not effected... but All ATLUS, NISA, and a few others are no longer available for preorder!

This was my fear, and why I pre ordered that game. however, since I found out the Ps4 version had more content (working achievements, new dungeons and DLC*) I opted for both versions, since I had the chance and option to do so. I can recommend the Vita version, as it plays nice on the system, however It seemed to scale poorly on PSTV. However the lack of syncing achievements and the surprising missing DLC that the Ps4 version got, is annoying. I highly recommend the Ps4 version it's worth the extra $20.

*So I played most of the way into Chapter 2 on the Vita, before the Ps4 version arrived, and I can say I've noticed a few minor changes. There are some adjustments of making certain material more rare on PS4. The Monster bug nests are used in more places. There are two new fishing things to do, Chests and big shadow "boss" fish. The new dungeon's are just night time alternative versions of a few places, with different monsters and loot, and extra Bosses.

Vita version actually has the best DLC costumes. Swimwear and Pirate, looks way better than the costume DLC that the PS4 got IMO. Sucks that the inferior version got the best costumes, but oh well. PS4 version's definitely the way to go, I've heard it has performance issues on the vita.
 
Thankfully the only two preorders I currently have remaining are Mario Odyssey and the new Layton game. I'm waiting till closer to the end of the year before locking in Yakuza 6. I've noticed other games like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 stop being available for preorder and then it come back... so... it's possible this is a temporary thing. If you have anything preordered, check your purchase history and it will likely still show the preorder is still there.

It's BB, they don't keep a lot of stock of Vita games around. You either preorder for launch or you likely will miss out. I'm actually shocked BB still does any Vita stuff as it's been ages since they carried vita stuff in the stores.

Wario64 tweeted this earlier. Looks like Valhalla hits PSN next week. I'm super pumped! Especially since I have all this psn credit from PCgamesupply lol!
