PSN Account banned/suspended; no explanation given.
I found this list of "banning explanations" on their website which isn't very explanatory at all but falls under why you got suspended/banned. It's not much beyond what you were already told over the phone:

I've had half of those things done to me on PSN, but there's no easy way to report people while they're in a game or even via the 'players met' list or at least none that I know about anyway.

I've also had people accuse me of 'using a lag switch'(whatever the fuck that is) due to my shitty connection and that I do lag quite a bit at times.

But I've definitely heard of the bannings for doing a chargeback, which is why I only use the PSN cards to fund my PSN account.

LOL you have a beaner connection to eh? I do as well, well I define my beaner connection by the fact I hijack it from my neighbors signal. I then run it through my pc which is then hooked up to my ps3. Hence I get horrid lag sometimes. Beaner connection I define it as a bad connection, doesn't have to be piggy backed, just has to be a bad connection lol!

My connection has been deemed 'Brazilian Internet' by more than a few on here before. I tried playing a game of Mortal Kombat II with the one CAG a while ago and it was like playing in super slow-mo.:D
I think the issue is resolved, he's just to ashamed to post after his rant one the Sony lady's "banned" vs. "suspended"...
totally agree with this statement...however i would still like to know what happened

He's probably trying to come up with a way to blame Sony for his mistake(s).

I believe he posted in another thread that he was going out of town for a wrestling event, thus why he's not updated this thread.

At least one person here isn't an idiot. Glad to see people will make ignorant generalizations and defamatory comments about others for no apparent reason, though! I'm sorry, but I was spending a few days in Hollywood having a life while some of you guys were busy this weekend making posts talking shit about me. I hate to sound like one of those guys, but it's true in this case.

I got my account reinstated on Thursday night. I had to go through a few different people at different numbers over several days till I could get a hold of somebody who could tell me what the hell was going on. Finally, I talked to someone who knew what they were doing and he offered to look into things after I explained the situation. He said he'd call me back from his personal phone and he gave me the number, too. It was a California area code and not an 800 number, though it showed up as Sony Computer Entertainment on my caller I.D.

He called me after 15-20 minutes and said that I had been suspended due to the disputed charge, since I was rightfully given my money back. He said the second $50 charge was for PlayStation Plus, and that he didn't know why they charged me a second time later but he corrected the error. Well, technically he corrected it, I guess, but I didn't get any compensation for missed time.

The guy, Dan, was very cool and helpful, but my experience with Sony on the whole has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Good to hear they reinstated your account! What a hassle though, I hope I never have to go through that but I do I'm going to hound you for Dan's number.

Yeah, it was very irritating, and like Is aid, I got nothing for my trouble even though they mess up. I'm definitely holding onto his number, and if anyone does need help of this kind, I can let you know how to get a hold of him.

Get ready for more of this from every company as shit goes digital. This is why I don't use credit cards with 360 or PS3, even more risk. I think Xbox Live has been hacked before.

Right off bat, there, you sounded like a prick.

So, as some CAGs pointed out, it has to do with the PS+.

Live is even worse IMO, they automatically renew your Live membership even if your box is under repair... Also, you can't even remove the CC info once you entered it, there's no option to do that. You can call MS up and have the CC info removed though, but the operator keeps telling how great/convenient to have CC info on hand until of course you ask them "why I was charged for renewal when my Xbox is under repair?"

He's pretty justified in my opinion, considering a few people chose to jump down his throat, talk shit, and begin speculating why he hasn't responded when he was simply out of town.

While I wont say one thing or another about OP.. what you type sure is not a way to judge anybody. I will say both companies have good and bad customer service people. It can depend on who you get, if you get new people, etc... I work in IT for a large company and do warranty work with many HUGE companies (HP, Dell, MS, Visioneer, etc... long list) and I can tell you one thing. One day a simple warranty problem can be solved in minutes, the next day the same exact problem can take hours. Employees training and sometimes attuitude, not companies are some of the major problems (not in all cases).

Sounds like OP had both machines break down the same (2x each) just in different time frames. So hardware wise sounds liek a wash. Customer service, not so much. I will tell you, when it comes to any type of money fraud on the net, even if you are not at fualt, companies have heard so many stories (and lies) from non legit people they have to be sure nowdays. If we where talking about life altering stuff, I can see a delay being a problem, but its a game system.

I do agree, if they got it all sorted out and you made them, then they should refund the time. Unforntalty I'm pretty sure the TOS pretty much let them off the hook.

I do agree MS XBOX service is pretty good right now, but that isnt becuase MS wants to be, the RROD they wouldnt fix for several months untill the lawyers started threating them has forced it. MS was in a public relations nightmare, and it was of there own making and they had denied it for months. Right now MS cant afford any misteps (the lawyers are ready to pounce) and all the good will it generated has done nothing but help them (maybe they have figured out the old "catch more flies with honey" thing. But with all that said, YES MS customer service for me has been good also.. of course my only call to them was for screwed up billing, freindly but it did take 3 calls to fix. I was a bit unhappy that i was overcharged and got it back as LIVE time, but I think if i had pushed it I couldhave been refunded.

No calls to Sony (on my PS3) so no idea now days, but My SONY discman (when a protable CD player cost $400, good good in the late 80's) that failed, the shop i bought it at wouldnt warranty it, SONY sent me a new one without a recipt or anything, just a serial number, didnt even have to send the broken one back.. I did like that.

long post, mostly jibberish, point was, customer service can be good and bad ANYWHERE depending on day and person you talk to.
Right off bat, there, you sounded like a prick.
Yeah, I know. That's why I said, "I hate to sound like one of those guys." But as SEH mentioned, people were talking shit and saying I was trying to make up things to blame Sony for, or that I was ashamed to respond. One check of my post history would have shown that I was out of town and away from the internet. And if they couldn't be bothered to do that much work, they shouldn't have said anything. It's still true- I was attending events in LA while they were talking unfounded trash on the board.

I don't think someone is a loser if they stay at home, weekends or otherwise. Myself, I stay at home a lot more often now (last month or so excepted), especially since I don't drink and everyone always wants to seem to go to bars and stuff. But if you're going to use that time to make insulting posts based on ignorant speculation, then yeah, you're a loser.

So, as some CAGs pointed out, it has to do with the PS+.

Yes, but what they were saying (at least how I read it) was that I was disputing the original $50 charge for the PS Plus service. I was not. The disputed (now resolved) charge, although it did turn out to be for PS Plus, came several days later, was not authorized, and was a mistake on their part.

But what the last guy said is true: Customer service can vary from business to business and person to person. But it did take a very long time to find one helpful rep out of everyone available.

I asked this before but don't remember seeing an answer... did you try to resolve this with Sony before disputing the charge with your CC company?

Yes. That was the first time I called, when they wouldn't even give me a clue as to what it was for other than saying "it sounded like the price of some Call of Duty game".

Whoa... I read your whole posts making me crazy. My PSN account had been not just suspended since it's 2006. and I have to make another new PSN account because I'll have to share games with my best friend when I buy new games via PSN store. I'm very sorry for yourself in a rage about the Sony.

Not sure what you just said... but yeah, I'm sorry for this guy too.

From my experience as a former banker, when you dispute charges on your bank account, your bank will contact the last "x" amount of businesses where you made purchases. If your bank contacted Sony to verify your transaction, Sony probably flagged your PSN account to prevent the possibility of any additional "unauthorized" transactions... regardless of whether or not the disputed charge was in fact through PSN.

Should clear up in no time, especially considering that it's a suspension and not a ban.

Yeah, I personally don't trust PSN with using my credit card. I prefer to have use PSN cards on PSN store. PSN card is better security to use for me. I could use my credit card via Amazon, Buy, NewEgg, and Gamestop which they are most trusted-websites. There is no trusted-website on PSN's policy yet that's why.

did you purchase an account on ebay by any chance? you know, the accounts equipped with $150.00 ?
those accounts are purchased with stolen credit cards. any account associated will be banned inevitably.
