This is off topic but whenever I see your avatar I imagine you sitting at your computer desk looking exactly like that haha.

Ack at no multiplayer, takes a big hit for me, seems lazy with offline options. Reminds me of Scott Pilgrim and Double Dragon (despite this not being a fighter) I'll still check it out soon.

Also yes, Trine 2 is amazing. The Wii U version is great.

Question Re Persona 3 Portable: Does P3P use the same soundtrack as the PS2 version of P3? The music is one of the things that endeared the game to me. If the music is not in the portable version, that's a no buy for me.

In general the music is the same. There might be a few added tracks and the music might occur on slightly different screens. But in my experience, all of the memorable music from my time with P3:FES was back in P3P.

It's a great game.

Yup, the music is all there. In fact, if you opt to play as the FemMC, you'll get almost a completely different soundtrack throughout the whole game to enjoy.

If you played P3 and beat it, I recommend you try playing through it with the FemMC for a fresh experience.

I just finished up my first round of The Cave and loved it. It's got a great sense of humor and it's interesting to piece together the character stories. I'm looking forward to playing it again with a fresh batch of characters.

I didn't find it overly difficult. It took about 4 hours for the first playthrough.

The game definitely isn't for everybody. I've played adventure games since the early 90s and I'd say this one does a pretty good job of mimicking games from that era.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I'm not sure where else to put it. How do you renew games on a PSP? I renewed my subscription, but its saying all my games have expired. Do I need to download them again or what?

This may be a dumb question, but in order to qualify for the spend $50 get $10 promo, do I need to actually spend the money on PSN? Like, can I not just have it in my PSN wallet -- I have to spend it? I'm only asking this because I'm interested in getting Darkstalkers Resurrection, Okami HD, and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, but the total would be $49.97, a mere three cents (or two, if $49.99 counts) shy of the required amount.

Try deactivating the PSP and then reactivating it. DRM should be updated without re-downloading your content.

Buy an avatar for $0.49. You need to spend $50, refilling your PSN wallet does not count.
I got both Dokuro and Escape Plan, and they're fairly different styles of games. I liked Dokuro much better, mostly because you have direct control over your character, and it has a certain charming style. Escape Plan you have two chars that you don't have direct control over -- you send them to a particular spot, or tap a valve to make them investigate it, etc. It's more puzzle-y, but what ultimately annoyed me was the over-use of touch controls (particularly rear touchpad and pinching controls) combined with indirect control over the chars, which resulted in a lot of cheap deaths.
Could not agree more. I wanted to like Escape plan, but the touch controls ruined it for me. First, your hand is in the way far too often, and you'll die because you cant see shit. More egregious is relying on the rear touch pad for precision broke the game for me. It's infuriating to die because you were a 1/4th of an inch off touching something blindly. Hate that stupid game now.

Dokuro is so much better (at least through the first 50 or so levels) though. It is challenging, but not because the controls are difficult. Some timing aspects, some platforming, but mostly puzzles and problem solving. Most stages can be done in under a minute or two so its perfect for pick up put down game sessions.
I figured out why Tecmo Koei released the Atelier game on Vita without any prior warning. This is from their European press release about its launch:

Make sure you read that sentence carefully to see the stupidity of that announcement.
Hey do you happen to have a link to that announcement?

But damn I wish Zero Escape was for the US or that the vita enabled 2 accounts so I can use my EU account with my US account.

Dang, that's pretty good, especially for Vita. Not all that great of a month for PS3 if you're not interested in Okami. I hope we get Thomas Was Alone, I'm assuming that's probably its release date.

I think I have one extra month of EU PS+ laying around, might be worth it to redeem and play Okami for free.

No PS3 eh?

Damn, Okami HD & Zero Escape. Already have both (won Okami HD, pre-ordered VLR once the demo came out & I played it. Yay for pre-order bonus watch), and I can recommend both of them.
I do but the vita only allows one account. Zero escape is a vita game.
Sorry, I thought you could use the PS3 to d/l the game and then transfer it between accts.

I didn't expect to like Zero Escape as the concept (basically a choose your own adventure comic book with occasional puzzles) escaped me. I still need to finish it, but I've absolutely adored the 10-12 hours I've put into it so far. Really witty, funny and compelling stuff and yet another reason the Vita is the system with the most interesting and eclectic library of games in the industry.

Considering the breadth of indie support, I think the Vita is en route to having a Dreamcast-esque life. Lots of great, under-played games from designers trying something creative and a small devoted fanbase.

Looking forward to Terraria + new content, just worried about the controls since I've always heard that the KB+M is better for the PC version. I hope they're good on PS3..
Sorry, I thought you could use the PS3 to d/l the game and then transfer it between accts.
I knew you could download the game one PS3 to vita but I didn't think that you could transfer between different accounts. Can someone else confirm this? If so, my UK plus just got even better.
Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD confirmed this year for PS3 and Vita:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/03/22/final-fantasy-xx-2-hd-remaster-announced-for-north-america/

The preorder page is also up on Amazon for $39.99 which includes both games. Vita pricing and availability is yet to be known as far as I know.
I really hope the vita version is $19.99 each. Though I feel it will be $29.99 each with some stores doing promotions like "buy both, get $10-$20 off" or something like that(I hope that happens).

It is very likely to be $30. Hell if the game is priced at $20, I'll probably get both versions if they do a promo.

Great news on Thomas Was Alone. Especially the free for ps plus member part lol.

As for FFX and X-2 I really hope it's $20 each for the vita versions as that's what I really would like to buy it on. But being realistic with psn it'll probably be $30 each. I'm just hoping they do a retail vita release as well. Kind of like what they did with MGS HD collection on vita. Here's to hoping! :)

Seeing how the retail PS3 versions are set for $40 for both, the vita versions should be cheaper for the same combo.

I'm guessing $14.99 each, digital release only.

I don't have 2 different PS+ accounts to test this with (though I suppose I could download a cheap game on my friend's account on my PS3 to test), but I think each game on your PS3 is "signed" with the account that purchased it. Thus I don't think you'd be able to download that onto your Vita since it is signed with a different account than your Vita's native account.

At least that's what I've read so far. I'll test it this weekend, unless someone else has first hand experience :)

zero escape is awesome. it's a series of 'escape the room' puzzles in a fantastic, deeply branching story that uses a sort of prisoner's dilemma mechanism in a meta-game. you can easily skip around to areas you've unlocked and can easily skip past dialog you've already experienced. i'm not usually one for stories, but this one's deep and interesting imo. the escape the room puzzles are solid, and all have two solutions (one to escape, one for a bonus).
i normally equate escape the room games with free flash games, and don't usually like cutscenes, but this game had me in its grips from start to platinum. difficulty seemed well done - i never needed to resort to a guide, but it never felt too easy, either.
highly recommended.

Just to head this off at the pass, it's only been announced for EU PS+ right now and the developer says on Twitter that it's not coming to US PS+:
There are no plans for Thomas on PS Plus in the US at the current time, but never say never!

Edit: If you think Square Enix will go cheap on Final Fantasy re-releases, you don't pay much attention to the way Square Enix works in North America.

Went with capcom reloaded, or which ever one has SFII. $12 left to spend by April. Really hope they have good stuff next week.

Do we have a release date on Lone Survivor yet? I've had it on my Mac since it's PC/Mac release date but haven't dipped into it yet - not a lot of time to game on my laptop. Very excited to have it on my Vita, especially with all the bonuses they're adding in.

Also, grrrr. I was looking forward to Thomas Was Alone for my vita - another PC game I own but haven't had a chance to play on my laptop.

i've never tried crackle before -- looks like ad-supported free movies? is there a list anywhere or do i need to go into the app to check? do they tend to be different/newer than netflix/amazon?

Thanks for the heads up on that Frisky. I'll temper my expectations, and also make sure to find an EU PS+ code somewhere.

You don't need to use the Crackle app on the PS3 anymore, as all of that stuff is fully viewable from the PS Store. They have a section just for Crackle stuff, so you can go there to see what's available and start watching it instantly.
Just to head this off at the pass, it's only been announced for EU PS+ right now and the developer says on Twitter that it's not coming to US PS+:
Thanks for the correction Frisky! I'm still excited for it though. Should have read more carefully I guess.

Oh and for those who are interested here is the Amazon page for the PS3 pre order. I noticed one of you had trouble finding it.

They are not newer than Netflix or Amazon, though I have seen movies there once or twice that weren't available on the other services.

For me, the ad placement and repetition cripple the experience. I've watched movies before where every ad played was for Crackle (hello, I'm already watching), and it was the same exact commercial everytime. Furthmore, there's no thought put into the breaks like with regular TV. The movie will sometimes stop right in the middle of dialog exchange to cut to an ad. It's immersion breaking and annoying.

If Crackle had an option to watch, say, a five-minute product ad before your movie starts instead of shorter commercials interspersed throughout, I would say that the service could become an extremely viable free option. As it stands, I think the commercials need to be thought out better.
Went with capcom reloaded, or which ever one has SFII. $12 left to spend by April. Really hope they have good stuff next week.
Can you confirm if that can be moved from the PS3 to the Vita or not? It's on the list that you can, but I've heard of some games no longer working with that.

Oh! Derp, thanks! I tried typing in Final Fantasy X and it didnt seem to work but it could be because they have a | right next to it followed by X2 with no space

If the PS Store runs slowly as it is, would trying to watch this app through the PS Store be even worse? Just curious here as I wont ever use crackle, but others might and the PS Store is still slow to me.
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I'm not sure where else to put it. How do you renew games on a PSP? I renewed my subscription, but its saying all my games have expired. Do I need to download them again or what?
Start the download, it will say "activating" then will start downloading the game. As soon as it finishes activating, cancel the download and your game will have the new date.
