Anyone who has ever upgraded your ps4 hard drive. Have you gotten an error that says your usb drive is not connected when trying to reinstall the firmware? I copied all my saves and the firmware to a single sub device and my ps4 has decided it doesn't want to recognize it. I'm beyond pissed right now. Anyone know how to fix this error?

I recommend hardwiring your PS4 to your internet and updating that way.

Also, you probably shouldn't have both the firmware and saves on the same USB. If you can't hardwire your PS4 to the internet, you should delete the save files on the USB, update the firmware and then just reinstall your saves from the cloud. Reinstalling from the cloud takes probably 3 seconds per file to download.
 
I've played some Shutshimi, which is pretty cool. It's a shmup based around the gimmick of a goldfish's short-term memory. Every wave lasts about ten seconds and has you pick a perk that could be helpful or not so helpful, though if you get good enough, it doesn't really matter what you choose. There's a main arcade mode, something to unlock, and a boss rush mode along with a lot of collectibles and in-game awards/trophies to find as far as content is concerned.

The drive that firmware updates are done from must be exFAT32 formatted, not NTFS. Just toss the firmware onto a small thumb drive you have laying around (or go out and buy one for like $5 at gamestop/bestbuy/grocery store/whatever), make sure its formatted as FAT or FAT32 on your PC and copy the contents where the instructions tell you to - i think to a folder called PS4 or something, don't remember exactly.

Since the firmware update happens when the system is booting its not got the entire PS4 OS loaded, so it tends to be a bit pickier about what hardware it'll work with. Small thumb drives always work, bigger hard drives may need the full OS loaded.

I bought rainbow six siege gold edition. I'm really hoping I like it, it will be my first rainbow six since.... Black Thorn. Which ultimately led me into socom 1 and 2. I really haven't enjoyed a Call of duty in forever. I play battlefield on hard-core mode, so I'm really hoping this is the type of game I've been wanting. I can't stand twitch shooters anymore where I feel like I have sprint everywhere

From everything i've researched, Rainbow Six sounds like it'll be right up your alley. Tactical, single life, breaching... basically if you like games like Socom, Counterstrike, and TLOUR survivor mode.

I want it too, I just am still struggling with the price tag.

 
Gem Wars --

This game is actually excellent.  And while there are iap packs, i've played countless hours for free.

Unless you simply have to unlock everything instantly, you'll never feel like you're grinding for anything.   You're constantly earning everything you need to just have fun playing every day...   the only time i could see anyone really wanting to buy anything is if they absolutely want to unlock like 50 super rare cards -right now-.  But you'll naturally earn good cards, and then in the process of leveling them maybe find a better one to replace one with, etc.   My cards are all max'd out, and i generally earn enough experience just playing that by the time i find a good card I want to replace a team member with I have enough exp to max that card out instantly.

Impressed that i actually like a game with so much IAP -- it's just very low key which is nice, and since it's ultimately a match 3 game there's no rush to have some sort of super-ultra team.

My only warning is the game is crack... my wife plays a lot too.

You made me feel better lol, the price tag hurt me too, which is why I saved my %20 coupon and hoped for a sale on it. For me a digital copy of games I plan on getting season passes for me is a huge plus! I hate swapping discs. I really wish I got the handsome jack collection at its current digital price also

I also didn't want the season pass for rainbow six but I think it came out to around 51 after the discount coupon

Sound Shapes is pretty terrible, but pushing through it for that double platinum. The campaign had one good level/song

It is a pretty peaceful game, but just boring me. I will try to platinum it as fast as possible so I can move on to Assassins Creed Syndicate since I rented it from the library.

I agree, the game was pretty damn awesome. I did all of them, mostly on the :vita: and some I couldn't do on there so I had to do it on :ps4:. It's all about luck though, you gotta keep trying because you will finally get a round where they're all close to each other.

It's not like I didn't spend many, many nights chipping away at them. By the trophies I was down to 3 death mode levels when I gave up which should say how much time I threw at it before giving up on it. I'm sure I spent at least 10-15 hours trying to knock those three out when I played it.

 
Crap, I just realized I never got my 20% off code. I bought Yakuza 5 the day before release and thought I'd get a code for that purchase. Did this happen to anyone else? Any advice on how to go about getting my code? Any help is appreciated.

I tried using the search function all day and it seems to not be working. Thanks in advance.

Gem Wars is the true successor to the original Puzzle Quest. There's an Android version too so now I have crack AND heroin to deal with. I just want to log in and get my money and hopefully some wings....and end up invading a few people, going on missions and trying my hand in the arena. And the Ragnarod reindeer power Blitz Em is surprisingly powerful, worth 120 wings.

Debating picking up LBP3 for $8 to replace the disc version I got on BF for $15. Also that Marvel Mega Pack... I know costumes aren't too important, but not being able to get them in the future is bugging me.

 
Weird.  I bought the Samsung 2TB drive and installed it.  I downloaded nearly all the games I own.

I also own Destiny on disc but not the Taken King in any format and doubt I would have clicked on it.

Here's the weird part.  The first three icons on my XMB are Gems of War, SW Battlefront and Destiny The Taken King.

It says Try Demo Now.  I know I don't own that and didn't even know there was a demo.

Did I accidentally download the demo to my PS4 (which I would not have and didn't know was possible)?

Or is it (my belief) that Sony is advertising to me?

I started up my PS4 today and freaked out thinking someone logged in and downloaded TTK. I checked it out and it said the same thing. So, probably advertising.

Go to :
Settings > System > Automatic Downloads
and uncheck Featured Content to prevent this
 
Thanks to all the gem wars talk I ended up snagging it last night..  I haven't slept yet.. lol  fun game and the micro transactions aren't intrusive at all..

The main campaign of Sound Shapes is pretty dull unless you can really get into the music aspect of it, which I couldn't.

Death Mode is way more fun and actually challenging, compared to the campaign which is very simple.

Then the Beat School levels are stupid, it's a shame all the DLC was Beat School instead of Death Mode.

Battle Trivia Knockout is pretty terrible, it's just structured all wrong for a quiz game.

Infinity Runner is ok if it's super cheap. It's a first person runner and gets old pretty quick.

 
Returned the disc ver of LBP3 and picked up the digital ver for $8. Also grabbed the Marvel DLC Super Pack for $14.35 (it has Deadpool, that was enough to sell me).

Although they don't mention it, the Marvel pack is cross-buy on Vita as well. Just finished downloading the six costume packs in LBP Vita.

How well does the PSTV stream from the PS4?

Just curious because I want to play Until Dawn on my TV, but my ps4 is hooked up to my monitors across the room and Im lazy.

Depending on the strength of your WiFi, it can be very good. I actually bought those electrical outlet networking adapters to use a "wired" connection using the electrical wiring. And 90% of the time, it's as good as being in the same room.

My team is very different, but similar.

My current lead (just trying out) is Lady [something] who is a Epic vampire... at lvl 15, iirc she does a true attack of 4, and adds 4 life and 2 attack to herself. She's basically just my first tank and skull crusher.

2nd and 4th position is another female unit... dark elf, not sure of the name, but she does a Siren attack for 6 damage and makes 10 (10!) of the gem color of the unit she attacks. She charges on green/purple, so once she gets going if the enemy has a unit that has any green or purple she dominates. I have 2 of them because I found most of the time she'll charge up both, and if she ever has an off round I've got the other charged.

3rd position is a Flame Cannon -- 5 damage to all enemies, and very tanky. He has pulled off so many clutch wins.

There are some uniques I'd really like to try out but i don't own yet -- though yesterday I opened 17 normal keys and got 4 epics which is insanity. One of them was the Lady Somethingorother who I'm using now.

I really want Orion, but as far as i can tell the only way to get him is buying a bundle (not gonna happen) or getting reallll lucky.

I was on the fence about picking him up. I did get the candy cane already. What is his special at level 15? I was wondering how it leveled.

(for those curious about this -- you earn 'glory' for free. If you invade and stuff and get trophies, you'll quickly level up for each 'event' which lasts a couple weeks. I think that earns me 16 glory a day, plus a bit extra here and there. And then, in the shop, there is a special 'glory' page with uniques to buy ... so it's not cash, you just need to play. One of the uniques is Rudolph on steroids for 120 glory... the candy cane weapon was 60 glory, i think... so you can afford everything pretty easily if you just play a bit every day. I think I'll still have quite a bit of glory left even buying both special units for the holiday.

I really want to... but I lucked into a high level guild early on (ranked in the 30s currently), and have invested like 50k gold into them already. We're at like +8s and +9s, and I get huge bonuses.

I want to leave so I can be part of a clan w/ people i know. And then i look at the bonuses I"m getting, and I'm like... yeah, maybe I'll just wave and say hi to you guys.

Orion was in the first or second pack I opened with the keys. I think he is ULTRA RARE (impressive booming voice). I only have my Reindeer at level 5 right now since I just got him but it really shakes up the board and almost replenishes the 14 (Red/Brown) you need with one attack and a bunch of skulls end up exploding,

Have you used a 20% code already on your account? That's the message I get if I put a 20% code in but I've already used one. I tried the same code on another account and it works.

I think I have used a 10% code recently. Perhaps I used a 20% and don't recall. Oh well. I was on the fence at $20.49 probably just skip it for now.
