That's what it sounds like but someone in the PS Blog comments said his golds were returned after he got out bid.

That makes sense. You don't lose real money you bid in a real auction if you're outbid. Seems to be the same principle.

wow gatorbeekgeek. you got 50 more plats then me. your 95% completion rating is awesome too.

iv got alot more games in my system but i barely play them, lol. congrats on all those plats!

yeah id like to win something, but there are 80+ people with more trophies than me in usa, my only hope is that none of them know about this promotion. plus if i bid, gatorbeek already has 2 more golds, so he will knock me out. lol. i just want that skyrim dagger.

if you get your golds back if you are outbid, might as well bid the max on everything, right? i mean, its not like you are gonna win 2 items...

yeah with only 15 days/items, just takes the top 15 people to pay attention and bid. but who knows

i was gonna say if i didnt try so hard for plats i would have more golds, but gatorbeeks got me beat in both! well how bout overall trophy count! 10,000 baby! lol

all in all, i blame call of duty! damn you master prestige! you cost me golds! lol. but i love it so.

It makes it a smaller group of people who can have any chance though. Even for me with a large number of golds, I would prefer if you bid you lose them. Decide what you really want to go after.

somewhere, there was a programmer coding the backend for this auction system shaking his head at how great marketing's concept was, but how terrible they wanted it implemented.

woulda coulda shoulda, but perhaps being able to buy raffle tickets for, say 20 gold a pop would have worked better. once spent, they're gone.

hopefully, though, this is a sign of things to come and they do create some sort of 'trophy' store where you can buy stuff with your trophies.  i'm guessing to start it would mostly be skins and themes and such, but it would still be nice.  and maybe they'd even put a game up once a year or so just to stoke interest.

as it is, i have just under 200 golds.  with this system, there's no point even paying attention.

Thanks man. Problem is there are more than 80 people with more than you. You got to remember PSNP removes some number of the cheaters.

I hope that they release the PSN IDs of the winners. Can you imagine the backlash if it is a known hacker/cheater. Maybe it will finally make Sony do something about those that hack since with this trophies are worth something besides pride for a change.

Maybe they could do something like Club Nintendo, that'd be pretty sweet.

I really don't understand why people are afraid of hackers winning, you don't think Sony will vet those profiles? It'll take less than 5 min to see if someone hacks or not.

Apparently I have 33 gold trophies. I play a lot of games (I think). I would have thought I earned more after being a Day One PS3 owner. I like trophies, but I've only rarely sought them out. I guess it shows.

Yeah, but the blog guy said it was going to be a couple months. Of course they won't don't an after the fact cross buy I'm sure.
They are still discussing with Ubisoft about setting it up for crossbuy. The guy in the blog posted that comment as well.

Also, the store update is up. As for the deals, I'm pretty sure Frisky caught everything already.

The Runner2 DLC is out today for anyone that cares. It's one of my favorite games of the year, but $3 seems too much for a 5-character pack for now. Guessing a discount will appear in the future as it's already been discounted in Steam during the summer sale.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/07/15/runner2-who-says-you-cant-buy-friends/
I guess there is a 6th character, Invisible CommanderVideo as well. Kind of interesting, when I was playing the final world I kind of felt like CommanderVideo was invisible anyway. After playing that game for a while, I'm pretty sure I could play the game reasonably well without actually even seeing the character since it's all based on timing. I'm wondering if that's the point of the Invisible CommanderVideo character.

$6 for Doodle God?  Are you fuck ing kidding me?  There better be a ton of extra content they added to it, because the content was enough for a 99 cent cell phone game, not a $6 Vita game.

I have 42 golds in the 194 games that I could earn trophies in.

a. I suck.

b. fuck! I own 194 PS3/Vita games plus another 20 I haven't even opened and another 30 to 50 that were pre-trophy.

Money burns a hole in my pocket.

Level 11 (almost 12) w/ 15 gold trophies, I don't think I can get anything.   This is what happens when you just want to just play games instead of trophy searching w/ hundreds of your own games lol

I did tell my friend that has 3X level to bid on these things.

When does Jet Set for the PS+ gets release ?

It's been available for a few hours now. There's a link in the OP.

the only trophy that needs to be done online for that xmen game is to get to mystique with 5 other players online.

the first game i played with my 3 daughters ( so only 4 total, and offline) we were able to get that trophy. so i dont know if it glitched in a good way or if they patched it or what, but you shouldn't need to play online. and wow that xmen game and tmnt and simpsons were so much more fun when we were like 8 y/o and eating pizza and drinking soda at pizza hut. lol

haha, just bid all 601 points on that blackhand outfit... then a minute later i get blown away by a 975 gold bid. yeah, im done. and you are correct, you get all golds back. ha. so i guess i will bid max everyday. worth a shot.

Must have been in a comment further down or after I looked at it then. That would be more incentive to buy it though I still would wait for a lower price probably.

Nothing for me this week unfortunately. I will try out JSR, but I've never really heard of it so I don't know how it will work out.

I've been playing JSR on my Vita, and I beat it on the 360 for the first time last year. So now I guess I get to play it again on the PS3 too!

I just tried it. Dreamcast port that's hard as fuck. I couldn't get through the tutorial so I deleted it. Tutorial = challenge mode?
I... I'm trying really hard not to say something overly mean. The game's certainly harder than some of the games that do everything for you now a days but it's far from a hard game. Excuse me while I go curmudgeon now, dang kids these days.

Haha I feel you there man. The video games in my past didn't know what a tutorial was much less held your hand lol. NES games in particular. *shudders at Megaman and Castlevania* I've spoiled myself now and I don't think I can go back and beat those without save states.

Hmm...sorcery $5? Seems pretty good, wonder if it will be free eventually?
We've only had one Move exclusive game on PS+ in three years and it's been free for PS+ for over 30 months, so it's not likely.

I haven't played a lot of it yet, but I enjoyed what I had played. They did a good job with the Move controls.

I think alot of the tutorials in games now a days are cuz they don't even include an instruction manual anymore.

I got that defiance game and even tho there is a tutorial they dont even tell me what the status effects on the guns are or anything.

There is no instruction book or even in game guide to tell me what anything does, so i had to look it up online.

And then there is the opposite, im playing trinity universe, im like 20 hours in and im still getting pop up tutorials and the game has a huge instruction manual (in color!) and the game even has an ingame instruction book guide strategy help etc.

n yeah megaman and castlevania are so hardcore. i can hardly play the original versions because i got spoiled with savestate loadstate keys on the computer emulators. without that 'cheating' i don't know how you could beat some of those 3 lives and you are dead castlevania games.

The original Castlevania game took me years of playing it on weekends at my Dad's house until I beat it haha. Megaman was the same way. I could probably do it again with a lot of work and patience the hard way. But save states are such a beautiful thing haha.

The tutorial for Jet Set Radio actually is pretty hard. You have to do a ridiculous amount of complicated tricks and rack up a high score. If you haven't played it since Dreamcast, you probably don't remember the tutorial. This version is worth checking out because it also includes a nice documentary about the game. I hope Sega gives all their rereleases this kind of treatment.

Castlevania was my very first purchased game after I got my NES, and I only beat that damn Grim Reaper once before the wonder of save states. That thing was a sonofabitch.

Tricks in JSR aren't complicated at all though... just grind and jump without touching the ground to accumulate points. The hardest thing in the tutorial might be getting your character to skate backwards.

$5 was the price I was waiting on for Sorcery, but now I'm not sure. The reviews make it sound kinda meh.

OK, I will concede that the actual menu option tutorial does have it's weird difficulty spikes because I forgot about the trick combos it randomly makes you do. I think the Vita version streamlined those bits out but I could be mistaken. Of course the real tutorial is the first level where you play follow the leader with Gum and she tells you all the same info without making you do random strings of tricks.

I'm sorry but anyone who uninstalled the game because the tutorial of the game was too hard and didn't even at least try starting the game proper... well it's probably best if I just leave that be. i mean the game's got like three buttons and Tony Hawk was far more complicated.

I imagine it may also have something to do with the god-awful controls, which on vita, practically made it a chore to play. I've heard countless people make that complaint. Not sure if it's the same situation with PS3, though.

I wouldn't be upset about either of those vita titles. Everything else I can live without.

Little more than I wanted to pay for that but will still probably get it sooner than later. Stupid Europe though, another great month and I'm sure ours won't be half as outstanding.

Whoa!  I didn't realize my small comment on Jet Set Radio was going to spark so much shall we say, "enthusiasm".  I never owned a Dreamcast (which is probably true for almost everyone which is why Sega went into bankruptcy).  I can certainly understand where you guys are coming from, you played this game years ago and enjoyed the hell out of it but in the same way I can't enjoy JSR without the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia I'm sure someone that never owned an N64 that today went back and played "Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire" would not enjoy it while I remember having loads of fun with it.

Anybody played Datura and have opinions? Looks good for $2.50 to me.

FWIW, I played the Sorcery demo, found the controls to be a little tricky but fun, and picked up a hard copy on sale at Newegg for $9. It's still in my PS3 backlog though.

We wear our rose tinted glasses with pride around here thank you very much. <---rose tinted

I didn't actually play JSR until a couple years ago and playing the first few levels to make sure I wasn't remembering the start of the game and difficulty wrong it held up pretty much exactly like I remembered.

Anybody played Datura and have opinions? Looks good for $2.50 to me.
It's interesting if you can latch onto what the concept is going for but it is beyond clunky in actual play. It's also extremely short, like an hour or two, and probably half of that comes from wrestling with the controls. It's real hard to say yes or no because it's going to be a real hit or miss experience for most people. If you generally enjoy the type of games that are more experience than game then you might like it. I enjoyed it for what it was but $2.50 is the absolute max I would have paid for it.

I played it back on the Dreamcast and yeah it's aged just like any other old game but it's definitely one of the classics. Feels the same to me now as it did back then just like you. Except I have a lot less patience now and way more games to play haha.

I think for a lot of us, or maybe at least for me, we didn't have but a few games growing up. So no matter how hard it was (Castlevania lol) we just stuck to it and ran on. Now we are spoiled by choice and more of a disposable income. Atleast those of us without kids haha.

Exactly that.

I wouldn't be upset about either of those vita titles. Everything else I can live without.
We'll probably get something like When Vikings Attack and then some random old PSP game.

I think that's what I'm most jealous of Europe about. They don't get PSP games. Lucky bastards.

Wouldn't mind getting Need for Speed here, we haven't gotten a lot of racing games in general. I'm good if EU keeps the rest though.

I really didn't care for Datura. I get what they are going for, but it all felt very half finished from the terrible controls to the short lenght, and the overall lack of anything making sense (I know that is part of the point, but even at the end I still have no idea what the game was about). It took me about an hour even including some random wandering when I got lost, so $2.50 is kinda a lot IMO. If you are looking for something that probably most resembles games like Dear Esther, you might find some enjoyment with it. Personally speaking though, I'm very glad I played it for free.

Heeeeey I like psp games! Probably cause I never owned a psp so it's nice to get some on my vita that I missed haha.

I think the big reason they include psp games are to give more stuff to Vita owners. But I'm not Sony NA so who knows what they're thinking.
