Let's stop this stupid discussion and move on. Cue the "Is there a small chance this game that always goes on sale will be cheaper at some point over the next 2.45 years?" question.

Ugh, was going for the Ducktales amazon cave pogo trophy and thought you just had to get all the way across without getting damaged or touching the floor with anything but pogo. Each time I would fail, I would climb up to next screen, climb back down to cave screen and then pogo. After lots and lots of tries I finally got it, but didn't get the trophy. Turns out you have to start the pogo from the screen above, fall into the cavern without climbing the rope, and then start your run. :wall:

Other than free with PS+, isn't generally the top percentage off 75%? At that point doesn't it not typically go any lower unless it goes free?

It's 2.75 YEARS thank you very much. Damn Frisky get your facts right. And I thought the spelunking argument was quite educational! I'm waiting for Spelunked to come out myself. Will be the best Spelunk game to come out ever.

Wait, the Spelunk series is a trilogy?!

On another note...did anyone get that Project Diva game? I tried the demo and was eh about it. However, I feel like its going to end up on the rare side and hard to find down the road. Could be wrong, but wondering if I should get it to secure a copy now. Physical of course, but just wanted to know if anyone's played it and loved it. Maybe it takes a while to get into.

My hypothetical version of that question is for 2.45 years, so your hypothetical version can be whatever number you want it to be.

i definitely want to pick it up, but with saints row 4 last week and diablo 3 next week im stretched on time and money already so some things have to wait. if you were only meh on the demo i dont know what to tell you though, its all pretty much the same thing.

I haven't picked up Diva F yet, but I have Project Diva 2nd on the PSP and Dreamy Theater 2nd on my PS3. It's a pretty solid series if you're a fan of basic rhythm games. The gameplay is literally the same as one half of Gitaroo-man. if you liked that game, this is a close kinda spiritual successor. The main appeal of the game though really comes from how much you like Hatsune Miku and dressing her up in cute outfits.

@Playstation: PS Vita system update 2.61 is coming soon, system software stability during use of some features has been improved

They don't go on to be any more specific than that, and that was just posted a few hours ago.

How can the vita have so many updates without fixing the problem with downloads pausing during power saving even when you check the box? That's far and away the most obnoxious issue.

Got Tokyo Jungle, probably the only thing I'll buy. Still waiting for a Dark Souls Artorias of the Abyss DLC sale >_> Missed the one that ran on February.

I bought a share of it. Fun gameplay, pretty decent music,.. everything you'd expect from a rhythm game and not much else, I suppose. I like it.

One thing to note: if your TV has much input latency, it's a game you'd want to avoid, because the calibration is a huge pain. I tried playing it on my girlfriend's TV, which has some input lag, and it was virtually impossible. To calibrate input lag compensation, you have to manually set it to a number, try it, set it again, try again, etc. After half an hour, I just gave up and hooked my PS3 up to my own TV in another room. I just wish they would have put in some real-time calibration system.. would have been much easier.

edit: Then again, if you've played the demo already, you probably are already aware of whether or not timing would be an issue for you.

I'd be more than happy to trade you that problem for the problem with it freezing every single time I download something. It used to only do it once and then would work normally after powering it off and back on.

If you let the Vita go into sleep mode by itself without pressing the button, your downloads will keep downloading. If you manually press the power button to put it into sleep mode it'll cut your connection.

Ugh, yeah, it's an absolutely horrendous system. If I could even find a song that has a steady note pattern I could at least get a better feel for exactly how the timing is off, but none that I've tried so far actually have that outside of the short bridge section of Secret Police. So I spent about 45 minutes playing up to that point in Secret Police over and over with different timing settings. I'm still not even sure if it's actually better/fixed or if it's all in my head. :(

I bought my copy the other day because I don't think it will be easy to find down the road.

Thanks Eldritch and MrNinjaSquirrel, the new gmail sorted the email into "promotions" and I would have totally missed this.

On a side note, has anyone gotten the Play promotion funds yet? I pre-ordered all 4 games but have not seen the $10 store credit.

Didn't see it posted, but PSA: check your email if you posted in the forums for the Sound Shapes Car Mini-Album & Entity Pack Add-On.

I just got my code and am psyched to have another reason to boot it back up ^_^

EDIT: so it looks like it only gave me the vita version. I have two downloads, but they both say "Playable on PS Vita". Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT 2: just a few moments late but Eldritch beat me hear.

Spelunky is fucking terrific and ate my whole night. Money well spent.
I concur. I was having a lot of fun with Tokyo Jungle. The GF was trying to read her book, but couldn't resist offering advice on who to eat next. I was about to pack it in the for the night and made the mistake of trying to play just a few rounds of Spelunky. Umm... yeah... that game is crack.

I finally started Saints Row The Third from PS+ last night. I followed that up by playing some Blood Dragon. My cheese levels are now dangerously high. And I'm from Wisconsin so my threshold is up there.

I also loved every minute of it.

Not that hit helps you now, but I got that trophy on like my third try using the M-coin powerup that is right above the cave. It gets you like halfway through.

I haven't gotten my Play promo money yet. I believe they said we'd have it by August 30, so we should get it today or tomorrow.

Spelunky and Divekick have both been keeping me up at night.

Is it possible rate a game on store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com? I can't see a way to do that. I guess I have to do this on the Vita? Is that done in the store app on the Vita or within the game itself somehow? I have never tried to rate games before on PSN.

So far this set of games has been great and now I'm looking forward to Kickbeat. I wish there was some bonus for buying 2, 3 or 4 of the games, but then we get the PS+ discount and that's decent.

You want to UNCHECK the WiFI Power Save box. If its checked, WiFi shuts off when you enter standby but will re-activate briefly to do a PS+ checkin (sync trophies, upload saves). If its unchecked and your system times out into standby, downloads will continue. At least that's been my experience.

The 2.61 update doesn't really have anything to do with improving "system stability." It is a release to shut down the VHBL exploit for Arcade Darts that folks in the Homebrew community have been using for the past week. Sony is quick to shut down these exploits. I wish they were quick to address real bugs like the "preparing to download" one that freezes the device.

Free Games next month. I am pretty happy with the selection.

  • Galaga Legions DX (PSN)
  • Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP)
  • ICO HD (PS3)
  • Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection (PS3)
  • Rayman Origins (Vita)

I am not sure why I even buy games anymore.

Actually, this is probably the least interested I have been in the PS Plus monthly games list since I joined. I own two of them already, so that doesn't help. It really annoys me that they would have a great sale on Rayman Origins and then give it away free just a short time later. I thought they weren't doing that anymore. I think ICO was also on a great sale recently, too. Wasn't it?

EDIT: I should clarify that I still think the list is decent, it just doesn't get me too excited this month compared to other months. PS Plus still has to be one of the greatest values in gaming ever offered.

Shadow of the Colossus was, but ICO wasn't. I'm glad I can play the other now after purchasing SotC during said sale.

nothing for me except galaga and ico, but I like this list. was rooting for ACIII, but maybe some other month!

Great list, I didn't buy Origins since I finished it on cart and then sold it. I'll take it back. I bought SOTC for $5 while owning the collection disc. Now with ICO I can sell that one off :) Don't have any of the other games either so I'll take em.

This is a decent list. I'm so glad I didn't buy Origins on sale. GTA: Liberty City Stories is not the GTA I want but I'll take it. I was hoping for GTA IV since V is coming in 2 weeks.

Decent plus update although I own everything other than Galaga. (Although technically I have the PS2 copy of Liberty City Stories. Having it on my Vita will make me much more likely to actually play it, heh.)

As long as they keep it up with the redonk sales, I can't complain.
