Just finished Heavenly Sword.

[...]

I really don't get why games like this never end up on PSN with a trophy list. It can't be that much work and the game must have gone out of print years ago. Having it on PSN and throwing sales out on occasion would have at least kept some money running in for the title, which it does deserve.
Perhaps the issue was like MGS 4's issue, the file size was huge (MGS IV was 26.6 GB and likely because of that was only finally released on PSN 7 months ago) and at the time it was released it wasn't feasible to expect to sell download of that size. And now it's old enough that they don't think it worth the effort and expense to put it on PSN when you can get cheap, used ones second hand.

Ripper Street (it's not really about what the title implies) S1 was pretty good, but S2 (which I just finished) was amazing. It is somewhat annoying that Amazon saved it from cancellation in the UK for a season 3, but it (nor the past 2 seasons) are available for prime viewing in the US.

I imagine they must keep the Darkness 2 at $40 MSRP just so they can trot out advertising for "up to 80% off" for mediocre sales occasionally.

I fucking love zero escape. VLR has some of the best story ever in a game and freaking awesome tieing in the game mechanics and the plot. The guy who made the trophy guide on ps3t.org was awesome too with flowcharts and everything. Id be in day 1 but considering we eventually got the last for free ps+, i think i should try and wait.
Come on, man, you need to support games like the Zero Escape series. With your money. :shame:

Just 1 Riddle--which I can't get until I get farther in the story--and the road bombs left other than beating the game, then I'll just have NG+ to deal with for the AK plat. I'm not looking forward to driving randomly until I find those bombs.

On another note, it wasn't necessary, but it was still fun to get all 78 AR stars.

Looks like the Rocket League distance one wont be as bad since you apparently need to win over 150 matches to get all the items as well.  I am guessing you will still need to grind it, but it looks like you have to put a lot of time into actually playing if you want the plat anyway.

Cool. Didn't need to do any overrides to get a 2nd copy of MLB 15. Just had to buy em in separate transactions. TIV on amazon dropped to $16, but I locked those in at $26 anyway. Might just go to gamestop tomorrow if it's still good for $25 there.

Matches have a time limit of 5 minutes not counting replays and loading and shit. I don't think you need to win that many matches either since you get an item at the end of the game whether or not you win or lose.

I have a feeling that the employee at Mild's Best Buy did something wrong so that his second-transaction copy didn't automatically ring up $16+tax.

Thanks for the motivation, Topside! And you're completely wrong. I could do with more climbing and puzzle shit and a little less shooting.
Whoa now... I am never COMPLETELY wrong.

I was fine with the puzzles, although calling them "puzzles is a bit of a stretch... they were so easy that it was more filler than anything. But MORE climbing??? The amount they had in there already was pushing it...

And climbing that fucking train twice was stupid... even Drake makes the comment that he's "so tired of climbing shit" after that.

3-starring levels in GW3 as I go. Been pretty easy so far....but there's still 40 to go, lol. Also, I have no idea what I need for the plat since I haven't looked at the trophies yet, so hopefully I'm not wasting my time.

Amazon has their phone as the deal of the day. Unlocked for $159.

Like I said before, not a bad phone if you don't mind not having access to the Google Play store. If you need that access, you can root the phone to get it. When I installed Google Play, it resulted in my battery life dropping significantly. I'm talking about going two days on a full charge to less than half a day. In the end, it wasn't really worth it since you can sideload any app anyway.

Steins;Gate's US versions will be Amazon-exclusive: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1076765

there's a humongous grind trophy (approx 10 hours) and of course the infamous local coop trophies

Re: Han Solo prequel

I know its not considered "canon" any more, but the Han Solo Trilogy was some of my favorite books from the EU. I read it at least twice. It starts with han when he is younger and ends with the meeting in Mos Eisley in Star Wars.

If they make it even half as good as that, it would be pretty awesome.

Well the new modes for single player count towards the grind so it won't be that bad.
yes it will! and you know it!

I spent some time before work trying to get the gate dash trophy score and all of the obsessive feelings started flooding back in to my blood. Also, congrats on having real life friends that can play geometry wars and being the first (and only) person to get the coop trophies. I have to try to convince these dumdums sitting in the room with me to try playing a game that isn't everquest or whatever the fuck.

Same here. I spent most of the night on the gate dash and oh man it pisses me off but still I'm enjoying it. Ended up with 4.4 mil. Gonna have to try again after work.

HS was my first Ninja Theory game. It's gotten me a lot more excited about playing Enslaved, DmC, and even Hellblade despite there not being any gameplay footage for that yet.
Heavenly Sword was one of the first games I played on the PS3; I rented it from Blockbuster (those were the days). That was back when my son was a baby, and I'd come home from work and unwind playing games while he chilled on the floor. Don't do that anymore. Now I usually don't start up the 3/4 until after 9p. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. I haven't played any of the other Ninja Theory games either, but they are in the backlog.

Watched Episode 2 of True Detective S1 last night. Definitely liking S1 better than S2 so far. And damn that Alexandra Daddario; that is a NICE rack!

Heavenly Sword was great...one of the first games I played and finished when I got my PS3. Enslaved was awesome as well. It was great...I bought it from Amazon for $25 on sale finished it over Thanksgiving weekend and sent it back to them as a trade-in for $25. I haven't gotten to DMC yet but will at some point. I'm optimistic about Hellblade as well.

I'm not even getting past the 4m mark yet, but I just figured out (I think) that the value of each gate goes up by some multiplier if you go through them in quick succession. So if you go through 4 in a row they'll be worth (made up example) 8k -> 16k -> 48k -> 128k or something. I didn't notice that before. I really need to finish batman (45% done!) and then go play helldivers to try out the bosses so I can start spending all of my time playing geometry wars again.

And stotch must be a wizard or something - I think the ng+ difficulty is definitely harder. There's a lot less room to be sloppy. I haven't run in to anything that's been super problematic, but I definitely have to pay more attention during any action sequence and I've had to restart a few more than once which I never had to do on normal difficulty.

Trying to load the Plus games yesterday I hit the limits of the 500 GB drive, and I don't even have that many retail games. Had to delete stuff to make room (one thing I deleted was Drive Club PS+). Why did they think 500 GB was enough?

Because they were trying to hit a price point. If they were say $450 at launch vs XBox One at $500 maybe they wouldn't have jumped out to such a great lead.

I rather they cheap out on a field replaceable item then go with a cheaper CPU/GPU less memory or make the controllers a bit cheaper (as it stands I think they suck in quality compared to the DS3). I have thought about replacing my drive but I delete retail games I trade/sell off my system and so far haven't hit 500GB. I also delete games I beat and have no intentions of playing again.

Not everyone downloads everything and keeps it for 2 years. For those that do just buy a 1TB or greater and upgrade.

Upgrading the HDD and backing up/restoring, sounds like a pain, but I guess I'm going to have to do it at some point.
Seems like it would be easier to delete games when your done with them. As much as some of you say you want to play games whenever you want, how often do you go back to a game once your done with them? Rarely I bet.
