Also, amazon. Yeesh. Did anyone even bother? Lightning deal overload plus no unique deals equals easy skip for me.
I would have bought a couple of the 3 months of PSN for $10 if it was available for more then 20 mins. Otherwise I didn't really bother loading up Amazon. As we all know they at best match BB and others. With GCU there is no point in considering Amazon. A few months ago there was some noise about Prime members getting some discount select new games. I think maybe once was it SLIGHTLY cheaper then BB with GCU. I don't think a single deal was available for Amazon Prime members for games.

I definitely didn't. Everything seems better and easier at other places now. Not even sure I'm going to sign up for prime again. Part of that is that I pay tax at Amazon now.
If I didn't split it with a friend I wouldn't bother. I do use them for other stuff for the house but hardly games anymore.

There's no reason to buy the Season Pass for Fallout 4 now is there? I assume it's always going to be for sale and at $30 but then there's the Dying Light price increase.

That shoprunner shipping failed me. Delivery exception. Looks like they weren't in the right location at all. Now to be delivered Monday. I guess I deserved that.

Definitely not, especially since Bethesda hasn't yet mentioned what it'll include other than vague single-player stuff.

Well, I just bought an RB4 bundle for $100 from a CAG, so now I have officially spent way too much money this holiday.  I don't even want to total up everything.

The PS3 games weren't on sale, but I was browsing Amazon and the wallet was open.

Sweet haul.  I'm surprised I actually spent nothing this Black Friday.  Already picked up most of the games I wanted and the stuff for friends/family a while ago.

I was going to pick up the Rock Band deal but it was pouring way to hard to drive an hour hoping it would be in stock.

As a big fan of the original (in a genuine non-ironic way), the Point Break remake looks absolutely awful.

The only movie I got this year for myself was a $1.96 copy of The Expendables on DVD. I figure I can watch it once and then give it to my nephew.

  • Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY
  • Mad Max
  • Dishonored Defininitve
  • Hasbro Family Fun Pack
  • Lego Dimensions
  • Disney Infinity 3.0
  • Lego Jurassic World
  • Wasteland 2

I got a TV, Bloodborne, Destiny The Taken King, a computer monitor, Golds, a 1 TB USB 3.0 HDD (Jet.com deal) and 1 year of Plus for $40.

Maybe you can count the TV stand and the computer desk, but some of this stuff might not be BF deals.

This was almost the first year I didn't buy any games on BF, but I ended up getting that Helldivers GOTY bundle. I thought about asking if anyone wanted to sell me their vita/PS3 code but figured it was easier just to get the whole enchilada to future proof.

Been playing some Crysis 2. It's alright. I've always liked the armor abilities in the game, fleeing and going invisible and stuff is pretty sweet.

It's WAY more linear than I remember the original being. The original was a lot better, which is pretty much exactly what I've heard, and that 3 is even worse.

People generally consider Crysis 1 better than Crysis 2? Interesting...I played them both and thought the 2nd was better simply because the first seemed like an old game.

I have Xmas Festivus Mystery Bag with a random PS4 code in it and may or may not contain Badland GOTY. Name your price!

I've mostly heard that the original Crysis is the best in the series. I know I really liked it. I'll admit that the stealth could be a bit borked at times in the original, being spotted from half a mile away while your invisible suit is on. The sequel does fix that, but I much preferred the pseudo open world of the island in the original.

Oh man and the first one has some awesome settings in the 2nd half of the game. And way more destructible environments. Damn Crysis 1 was awesome.

What always annoyed me about Crysis 1 was how quickly the cloak ran out. Since the map is so large you were constantly having to prone in brush to let it recharge.

Just finished Uncharted 2 on PS4.  Way better game then Uncharted 1.  If you got the collection and might not play them all I would skip 1 and play 2 and/or 3.

1 really shows its age.  Still fun though.

Until Dawn pros, how long does it take for the plat? Think I'm gonna make that the first main game I play from the Black Friday haul once it comes in.
If you follow a guide and plan things out, you could probably do it in around 6 hours minimum. But that would ruin the fun of your first playthrough of just running through it spoiler free and unconcerned of consequences. But your call.

Even using a guide, it will be much longer than that. I would say 10-12 is the real minimum to get any enjoyment out of the game using a relatively spoiler free guide for collectibles and all live on the first pass.

You are probably right. I just remember playing willy nilly through the first time. Then screwing up worse than you could imagine. Constantly messing up and thinking if planned out, I could have breezed through it. I probably spend 15 hours, maybe more. Hell, maybe it was 20 hours, I'm a bad judge on that. But even after the frustration, I'm glad I didn't consult a guide for first playthrough.

Wait a minute...is this the squirrel game? I'm glad I didn't pick this up now.

Yeah I didn't use a guide on my first playthrough and made extra work for myself. I can't see me ever using a guide on the first playthrough.

Guides aren't always terrible, but for this style of game using a guide really just ruins the whole thing. Thats a worse waste of your time than simply multiple playthroughs.

I travel a fair amount, and I've never seen anyone in Panthers gear outside of NC or SC.  Heck, half the people who live here are Cowboys, Redskins, Steelers or Patriots fans.

Beat Prototype 2 last night, now time to zip through hard mode on new game plus for the plat. Actually almost finished the first island last night, it's a piece of cake and feels no different from easy so far with Heller being a straight up beast from all the upgrades.

I'm glad we got it as a Plus game. The original left a bad taste in my mouth so I had no plans of buying this one. I ended up loving it though.

My BF haul:

ps4 games

witcher 3

far cry 4

cod ghosts

elder scrolls online

dark souls II scholar of something or other

House stuff

Calphalon contempary cookware set

Kitchenaid stand mixer

Got those at bed bath and beyond. The cookware set was on sale for 340. Had a 20 percent off coupon and then it came with a 50 GC. We had 100 in GC from using southwest points to buy those so paid 180 OOP for it. The mixer was 350 with a 50 mail in rebate and the same 20% off coupon. Used the 50 gc from the cookware toward it and wife had 75 in free monies from her boss at work from some contest thing, so essentially paid 100 oop for it.

280 out of pocket for a 400 dollar cookware set and a 400 dollar mixer. Call that a win.

Oh and bought a pair of new balance shoes from amazon for 35 bucks. Needed new shoes so sounded good when I saw them.

For those who were wanting the target exclusive Lego movie blu-ray, but didn't want to go to the store, it's now available for shipping. It has an extra commentary track, deleted scenes, and a few other random extras along with all the extras from the previous release. Free shipping regardless if you have a red card.

I really can't fathom why anyone would want that many games as you guys are buying. Let alone physical copies. You mean I gotta keep track of all the discs? Make sure the kids don't destroy the packaging?

Digital 100% for me. Same with movies.

I must be the only one that liked the first game better.

It's a fantastic day for a football game; almost 70 with hardly a cloud in the sky. Here's hoping the game doesn't get ugly early. It's the son's first Carolina/Clemson game.

And there is a lot of orange in and around the stadium. Yeesh.
