Most of the stuff that Gamestop price drops tends to be in line with universal price drops, but because not all of them are, this thread is warranted. Also, if the price of the new item has dropped in price, expect the used item price to similarly follow suit and be $2-$5 less than its new retail price. Sometimes the used version drops first, but both are often around the same time.

Many of these items are sold out in stores since they're old and won't get restocked (Gamestop, after all, tends to make most of its money from selling used games), so you'll have to do a zip code store search for the appropriate title to hopefully find it in your area if you can't buy the item online.

All of this information is presented on the Gamestop website, but because of their new "Price Drop" algorithm, it doesn't really display when new price drops hit. Since I started keeping a running list for current platforms, I figure its easy enough to do a comparison to my lists every week. I generally run the reports once a week on Wednesday mornings, because I've noticed most price drops occur on Monday or Tuesday mornings so I wanted to catch those on the weekly report. If you find price drops sooner than my weekly Wednesday morning report, feel free to post them in the thread so others can get a "head start". I no longer have time to maintain this thread due to my new job but feel free to continue posting Gamestop price drops in this thread or if anyone wants to take over just let me know. Thanks!

Yeah, for anyone interested in survival horror, I'd check it out. I rented the 360 version and despite some of the horrible reviews it got, I actually had a lot of fun with it. So, $20 for the improved PS3 version doesn't sound too bad.

If it's the usual 20% we've been getting and AiTD drops to $17.99 used, $12.60 seems like a good entry point for it. I guess I'll go trade in my 360 version while the 40% off trade promotion is still going on.

LOL there were one of those YMMV 50% off bins at a Bestbuy close to my work and they had Disgaea 3 in there with the soundtrack so for $24.99 it was a steal.

Sounds like time to buy yet another copy of Alone in the Dark (this time PS3). This is one game that I've been making the point of buying new copies to show support for future installments and/or risky innovations. Now if only they'd patch up the 360 version already. I'd rather have Achievements than do anything on my PS3.
 
Extremely disappointed Dragon Quest 4 not drop down $20 :( I may get Alone in the Dark (PS3), Operation Darkness (360) and Spectral Force 3 (360). I know both OD and SF is not great game still ATLUS Gem :)
 
In for Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3. Especially at $17.99 used and a B2G1 promo coming up. Reviews and opinions be damned.

Most likely, there were drops but nothing good enough to post. In the past, he's posted 2 weeks-worth of drops in one post.
 
Just because games are published by Atlus does not always make them gems...they were really hitting on all cylinders back on the PS1 and pretty well on the PS2. I'm not really impressed with their 360 releases so far...

It's good to see Lair drop even though I already own it. I'm hoping the same thing happens to Heavenly Sword, seeing as how they both came out around the same time and have held on to the $60 price.

Anyone interested: Don't bother. That's only $10 less than MSRP back when the game came out last year, AND the new version is out like next month, which will still be $30.
 
Looks like a couple decent price drops today. Guilty Gear for 360 is down to $30 and Leisure Suit Larry for the 360 which isn't even out until tomorrow dropped to $20 from $30 already. The other drops look pretty mediocre.

That's very tempting considering the camera itself is still 39.99. I've been using mine for a webcam, so this would be great to get a second for the 360.

All consoles except the DS get some love this week, even the PSP! I think there are already a couple threads for certain drops that occurred in the past week like You're In the Movies with Camera. I actually saw the price drop for You're In the Movies show up on the website yesterday afternoon and tried to pick it up after work last night. The system at my local Gamestop still had it ring up for the $39.99 price so it was very odd to me that there was a lag between what was showing up online and in-store, since this has never been the case in the past. Anyway, I stopped by the same store this morning and was able to pick it up for $19.99 so it looks like everything should be good now.

Oh come on? LIPS? I just bought that 2 weeks ago USED for $50. Argh. And I thought I was stealing it with the Edge and Eternal coupon (down to 40). Ahh well still worth it.
