Most of the stuff that Gamestop price drops tends to be in line with universal price drops, but because not all of them are, this thread is warranted. Also, if the price of the new item has dropped in price, expect the used item price to similarly follow suit and be $2-$5 less than its new retail price. Sometimes the used version drops first, but both are often around the same time.

Many of these items are sold out in stores since they're old and won't get restocked (Gamestop, after all, tends to make most of its money from selling used games), so you'll have to do a zip code store search for the appropriate title to hopefully find it in your area if you can't buy the item online.

All of this information is presented on the Gamestop website, but because of their new "Price Drop" algorithm, it doesn't really display when new price drops hit. Since I started keeping a running list for current platforms, I figure its easy enough to do a comparison to my lists every week. I generally run the reports once a week on Wednesday mornings, because I've noticed most price drops occur on Monday or Tuesday mornings so I wanted to catch those on the weekly report. If you find price drops sooner than my weekly Wednesday morning report, feel free to post them in the thread so others can get a "head start". I no longer have time to maintain this thread due to my new job but feel free to continue posting Gamestop price drops in this thread or if anyone wants to take over just let me know. Thanks!

Used game drops sometimes trail the new game drops. Usually it doesn't take long to catch up, but sometimes you end up with a situation like Bully: Scholarship Edition (Wii), which dropped to $19.99 new on January 21st, but is still $26.99 used in April. Both Bully and TR:Anniversary seem to have fairly limited new availability at this point, which may have something to do with it (i.e. if one can't find the cheaper new copy, one might be more inclined to buy the more expensive used copy. This, of course, does not apply to CAGs).
 
Quantum of Solace for PS3 dropped to $29.99 as well. I assume the 360 version did too.

It's an underrated game IMO. It's not mind blowing and it is extremely similar to CoD4, but I had quite a bit of fun with it. I got the platinum trophy a few days ago.
 
I stopped in to get Leis. suit larry- they said it wasn't in yet and they weren't sure when they were getting it. Gonna check tomorrow though!

Hm, how good is the single player?

I have a friend obsessed with anything and everything James Bond, and he's been begging me to get this game. I haven't played a Bond game since like, Goldeneye, and usually only pick up games with good local multiplayer or good single player.

Assuming the single player is good, and the used price falls to $27 ($21.60 after Edge + 10% coupon) it might be worth a buy.

Somebody doesn't want me to play this game. I bought it for PC, but my PC can't run it. I wanted to buy it when Best Buy had it on sale, but none of the ones near me had it in stock then. And of course it sold out at Circuit City when the discount was still 20% (off of MSRP).

So I'm considering biting at $30, since apparently I'm not allowed to buy it any cheaper. :cry:
 
I hope Bioshock for PS3 drops to $19.99 also , and I want Tales of Vesperia to drop to $29.99 (yes I missed the Game Crazy price drop)

FYI, QOS is also $29.99 now at Best Buy, including the version with the free tshirt.

It plays like CoD with a cover system, but since you are in cover most of the time when shooting, it's really more third-person than first-person. It mixes up the gameplay quite a bit too. There are some pretty good stealth segments and some minigame type of things thrown in when on a ledge or fighting someone. The game is short though and the story made no sense since I haven't seen the movies. It's about six hours on normal difficulty. I had it beaten once of normal, once on 007 difficulty (the hardest) and did all the single player trophy requirements over just four days.

Multiplayer's cool. It's got some nice modes where one player plays as Bond along with the usual deathmatch stuff. It plays like an arcadier version of CoD complete with perks and all.

check the clearance section at target. if u can find it, it will be at most 20 bucks and maybe even $10 if it dropped this week.

That's Accent Core Plus which isn't even out yet. Accent Core is sold out new on their site, only used is available. It should be $20 if you can find it in stores. You are better off waiting until Tuesday to get Accent Core Plus. It comes with everything Accent Core does, plus additional features and a second bonus disc.
 
Doh! I just bought GoW: Chains of Olympus off eBay for $23 last Sunday, oh well, I guess it is close to the same price with free shipping and no tax. That is a great deal for that game for 20 bucks though!

Hi all, I'm changing jobs so I'm not sure if I will be able to maintain this list in the future (want to set a good impression with my new employer). I just noticed that the gh2 bundle is somehow more expensive then the gh3 and gh aerosmith bundles...
 
Wow, those are some nice GH drops. With the Aerosmith deal, you could grab GHII, III, and Aerosmith all for $30 and get a free guitar. I wonder if the used price will fall, since right now it would cost over twice as much to buy GH3 used

Kind of funny though that now the PS3/360 versions of GH3 are more expensive than the PS2 version.
 
Wow. That is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. Might take advantage of the Aerosmith/Xplorer Guitar bundle deal, then return Aerosmith to get GHIII instead.
 
Definitely thanks for the updates. I went and picked up new copies of Guitar Hero II & III and figured I'd might as well get Guitar Hero Aerosmith. I forgot all about the free guitar promotion and with sales tax got it all for $32.07

People might be interested in Quantom of Solace Collectors Edition for $29.99. Gamestop and Amazon don't say what it is, Wikipedia says The PlayStation and Xbox 360 versions have also been released as a collector's edition. Both are enclosed in a metallic case, and contain behind-the-scenes features. The PlayStation 3 version contains over 10GB of exclusive behind-the-scenes content and the game itself. The Xbox 360 Collector's Edition features a DVD in a white paper sleeve inserted into the metallic box.
 
Knew Dead Space was gonna drop, was hoping for a b2g1 free to get that with Mirror's Edge and something else (probably naruto since all would be 34.99) but now mirrors edge dropped too o.o

yay smackdown vs raw finally went down...know i can do some bloody hardcore matches on my xbox 360 and watch them too and make my own show and beat the game..THEN I FIGHT ONLINE!!!

Expect to see them continue to go down in price everywhere since GH: Smash Hits will be releasing soon with all of the music from the original GH games but with Master Recordings instead of covers like many of the songs in past GH's. Buy them cheap now if you don't mind covers.

Nice drop on Midnight Club and its a universal one as well for everystore so Finally I can go get that bastard price adjusted ha ha...

BTW I saw talk of the 007 game going to $29.99 well Bestbuy has it for the same price as well and they also have those one bundled with the T-shirts for the same price.
 
Very happy about the price drop on GH II and III. I just bought GH Aerosmith yesterday and got the free guitar. Now another $20 for 2 more games? Nice.
 
Picked up sealed copies of GH 2 & 3 for $20 total, will go nicely with Aerosmith + the free guitar I picked up the other day. Three GH games and a free guitar for $30 = great deal.
