You most likely have to get the e-mail, but I expect most people on live to get it.

Cool, But do you get it by using a 12 month card or by using a credit card? Oh and April first. Hmmmmmmmm.... (Just kidding)

Mar 31 is the end of the fiscal quarter (maybe year for them too) so the more renewals they can push before then the better.

Would this count to re-up using a card?

I have my account set until 2010 so would it count if I used another card to get he points?

Thats what I am wondering. I snagged two Gold Vision Kits at Toys R Us for $39.98 a piece and haven't yet entered the codes.

I just used a 12 month card on my account...

Haven't gotten that email, is there a direct link to the registration?

I woluld gues you have to be a couple months from your subscription ending to gget the points. Unfortunately, I just added two cards this winter. So I'm good until 2010.

I'm good till october/november, but still got the e-mail.
After clicking through it said only valid for the named recipient of the email and good for new subs from 3/13 - 4/1.
Thats lame. I renewed on the 4th.

I got tis email abou 2 hours ago (4:30pm Eastern Time) for my little brother's account. I'm going to renew his and see if he gets any points. If he does then I'll do the same for mine.

I got the free joust and robotron promo codes through a similar form, even though I did not meet all of the conditions. I would encourage everyone to fill out the form just in case.

Quoted from the Registration TOS

You must sign up for a 12 months Xbox LIVE Gold subscription during the promotion period (03/13/08-04/1/08), then register on the promotion Web site at www.xbox.com/renew400 on or before April 1 2008, with a valid email address, to qualify for your gift.
I didn't get the email, just used the link provided in this thread by Rolento. It said everything was fine and my registration is pending. I renewed like 3 weeks ago for a year, but with that quoted part in the TOS, I'm not sure if it will work. I'll post back when I get some sort of response from them.

Quoted from the Registration TOS

The Microsoft Points expire on June 30 2008.

Just read that now. Not that it will be too much of a problem with Commando 3 coming out.
They charge $50 for 12 months right?
Yeah, but you can usually find them for at least $40-45. So this would make it maybe $35 or $40 unless you're lucky and find it cheaper.

It's not really worth it if you weren't planning to renew anyway. My sub doesn't run out until nov 2009 I think. If I get the email and find a really good price for the sub I might do it, but otherwise it's not really worth it.
Yeah, but you can usually find them for at least $40-45.
Yeah, I was just checking if the 400 points is worth it and turns out I can find it cheaper elsewhere so I'll just buy a card.

Even though I no longer have an xbox, I signed up using that link since my subscription is good til jan 09, maybe I'll get something but I'm not too worried about it. Tis a shame they don't refund unused months. :bomb:

I was a sucker and renewed last July(?) when they offered 100 measly points. I got an email from xbox live today, but no mention of any free points. :whistle2:(

They changed it to April 2nd so people wouldnt get suspicious, thats my thought. ANyways why dont they give anything to us. Am I supposed to get nothing cause I renewed mine back in September until October while they get stuff for just not paying?
Thats lame. I renewed on the 4th.
Ack! Yeah, lame as hell. I renewed on the 1st. Curse you Microsoft! I put up with your shit and you still seem content on kicking me in the nads.
i renewed mine last night with a card. and i got the email, but the part with the offer didn't show up in my email.
I got the email too but where the offer should be it just says instead 'grab friends, snacks, and 360; enjoy xbox live'. lame

Anyone else get the email about a free copy of Halo 3 for being a valued customer? It says it will take 4 - 6 weeks to arrive.

It looked just like Rolento's email except it said for being a valued customer you get a free copy of Halo 3 and i had to follow all the same links.

Yeah, I got that email. I was wondering if that was legit or if it was some phishing scheme with a spoofed address. Guess i'll wait and see who else gets it and if it works.

I would assume that if the email to you came with your gamertag on it, then it wouldn't be a phishing scam since it's personalized.

That's what I was thinking. Just sounded to sweet of a deal, so my skepticism was getting the better of me. lol

I never get any emails from Microsoft even though I have that box checked on xbox.com. The only time I get anything from MS is when i put cards in, otherwise they don't send me jack.

I got this one as well and it was personalized to my Gamertag so I don't think it's a scam.

I wonder if we got this one because we never played the game? - I got hooked on COD4 so never bothered with Halo 3.

Has anyone else who got this version of the email played Halo 3 already or not?

Seems like a pretty short time to be offering those M$ points..

not worth it, i found last year i only played about 4 out of the 12 months and nothing more than logging into to marketplace. I decided to just use monthly cards now.

I doubt few CAGs are paying full price for a year of Live. ;)

Def. the best way to go for me too. I played Halo when it came out, Burnout Revenge for a short while, but other than that, a Gold sub just isn't worth it as I don't have time. May pick up a 3-month over summer though.

Also got the same email, but never played Halo 3. I already have a sealed legendary edition from wally world but haven't gotten around to opening it. Too bad I already renewed till 2010 :(

I've got a nearly-free card coming from Trainn that I'll use with this. Most all the points-based stuff is shit and/or overpriced though. I can never find anything I'd actually want.
