Requiem for a Dream (R and NC-17)

I'm just wondering if anyone knows what was edited for the R version of Requiem for a Dream.

And which version did I see?

The ass to ass scene is a little bit longer. The other most obvious thing in the NC-17 version has Jennifer looking at herself naked in the mirror and you see some bush there.

You mean the scene where she breaths in and in a "T" pose?

I think I also saw some bush on Tyrone's girlfriend.


If they edited out the scene with Connely half-naked, then I did see the NC-17 version.

I'm just wondering if it would be worth renting the R rated version to show my parents, who I'm pretty sure would have a hard time with the NC-17 version.

Is there a list of what they edited out, or can someone tell me all the stuff they can remember?

Yes, I was talking about the T-Scene. The R rated version still has all kids of nudity and shit in it.

the main difference between the two versions is that the outcomes for everyone are more graphic in the nc-17 version, in particular for marion. it's an excellent film, but i wouldn't rush to see it just to see some connelly bush (you'd probably save yourself time by doing a google image search). it's a tough film to watch and i always feel creeped out at the end, definitely not a feel good flick. it's still one of my favorites and i also highly recommend pi if you have not seen it.

yeah, that was a fairly disturbing section.

:lol: i forget what the guys were yelling in that scene. anyway, the scariest part was definitely the mom. i was afraid that she was going to jump out of a closet at me or something for the rest of the night after I saw it. :lol:

i don't remember the point of that movie...all i remember is a whole lot of unpleasantness Pi was much better...

That's interesting to know, I rented the R rated version from Netfilx and I recently bought the Director's Cut unrated version I didn't realize there was a difference.

Ugghhh...thanks for reminding me about it, but still the movie was excellent. One of the best ever. The sex scene did make me throw up as much as Ellen Burnstyn through out the movie and Harry's drug/amputation. I feel like throwing up now actually.
 
Requiem for a dream is def. one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen. It is one instance where Jennifer Connelly does sex stuff and I still wasn't turned on.
