Well in line with the recent chris benoit thread, another entertainer has been killed. Goodbye Captain America. We Will miss you! Marvel has decided to kill off out friendly all American Captain America. The good old captain of all things red white and blue has taken a sniper bullet to the head and has been killed. Marvel says no plans of a return. GOD BLESS YOU CAPTAIN AMERICA!

Isn't the Punisher taking his place in one way or another? I remember seeing some art where it looked like it..

Yeah, I've heard this before. Seems to me i also remember that he gets shot on the steps of a court or something.
Maybe that was something completely unrelated...
 
Cap got sniped going to trial for his crimes against the government concerning the Superhero Registration Act.

It happened in issue #25, back at the end of April. His comic is still going though, as it is currently on #27, as well as a "Death of Captain America" arc of 5 books, all featuring different characters dealing with Cap's death.

It's been a big damn deal in the comic world.
 
Yea this happened back in March or April IIRC. Punisher took his place.

The death issue is #25, and Punisher #7 has Punisher as Capt America.
 
maybe the capt that got sniped was a clone or an impersonator. they will find the real capt america dead on the toilet in mid dook like that guy on the sopranos.
 
Captain America killed by a sniper? lame, he didn't even die in a big epic battle against a super villain! What a way to kill off an iconic character.

The punishers new costume is an homage to Capt. A, but he is NOT the new Capt.

Yes. Yes I did. Actually it was kinda a joke. In light of being the key words. Anyways I didn't know till I read it. I don't get to read the ol comics any more. It was news to me. I saw that he " had died" and thought I would post it. Some thing different from the chris benoit thread anyways.

Yes superman has died too. And yes they have brought him back as well.

I just can't see punisher being cap americia. Ahh something is wrong with that picture. In that case why don't they just make woverine the new capt america.
