Ad is a bit odd in that they only list sku's for the game bundle and standalone guitar (#2633103, 2633149, 2273055), so they may be doing in-store bundling. Plus they list the game + guitar bundle as a 10 savings over buying everything separate

Yup, Epi Les Paul Jr's were the pack-in guitar. But it was the sunburst models and they never came with the amp.

This might be from some other bundle (non-Rocksmith, I mean).  Looks like someone already swapped out the pup.  Maybe they upgraded pots??? Worth taking a look

And the quirks I was thinking about were the G-force tuners (robo tuners), Zero-fret nut and the Wider neck/fingerboard... something to keep in mind.

On the plus side, you're getting a hardshell Gibson case with purchase. And if you really hate the tuners, you could easily swap them out (I think you could do the same with the nut, but don't quote me ) and sell'em off.

The black&white part near the bottom of the strings is a humbucker pickup. My bad, on the lingo.

BTW, might want to switch out the strings for a fresh set (or at least have a spare set ready to go for the eventual replacement). Who knows how long those have been on there.

Ernie Ball, D-Addario and GHS are solid string choices. String size on there now are probably 10's, maybe 9's

NOTE: hmm, so how do I explain this... Third time's the charm.  Les Paul Standards... in da House!

My SA rep called to give me the inside track on another Gibson Blowout, lol. 

-They're getting another 700 units, mostly 2015 models but there are 2014 SGM's and a 2016 Standard T (in Fireball finish).

-prices range from $400 (Les Paul CM) to $1700(Les Paul Standard), with a whole mess in between

-11 12 different models to choose from. Still no Classics in Seafoam Green

To me, it's a more basic Les Paul jr., with a Maple top and neck.  Takes fugly to 100 . And it's the least "2015" of the 2015 models.

The "T" models reverted back to more traditional build specs.  If you hated what they did with the 2015's, then this is the one you want.

You know I'm not a huge Gibson/LP guy, but I am totally jealous of that gold LP. If I were to ever own a Gibby LP, it would be a goldtop.

That CM is the biggest steal IMHO. I like the swampy look and the slim neck. No holos etc either. Too bad its got a gig bag. Those cases are worth over 100$- really quality.

That's actually not a bad deal on the Flying V. I'm still kicking myself for not jumping on a new for $800 a few years ago. I forget who it was through, music123 maybe. Now I have a hard time justifying anything above that price for one. I am a little tempted though

Got the CM today. Aside from a lighter spot on the wood pattern I'm super pleased. It feels solid, quite heavy and plays fast. Definitely an easy substitute for anyone looking for a junior.

Does it happen when using your new guitar?

Might need to re-do the sound calibration step in Rocksmith, for it to properly recognize your guitar.  Also remember to turn volume and tone all the way up.

Thanks so much for this. I was already tempted at $995 but this really sweetened the deal. I bit on the alpine white Flying V this morning for $845 after coupon. I just sold my Gibson Thunderhorse Explorer on eBay last week. I was so sad to see it go, but I made almost $1k profit on it after fees. So I'm looking at this Flying V as a "free" guitar. It was listed as "mint" in the description. Will report back after it comes in

If the one you ordered had "floor model" listed after the guitar model, then it should be mint.  That's been my experience and what so many others having been getting.

And as I mentioned before, the in-store reps have been cool and explain what you're getting so if any doubts, call.  At a minimum they open it up and put a CME care package inside (pick, cloth, stickers etc.).  At worst, they removed the plastic from the pickguard and/or the fretboard covering.  My goldtop was missing the fretboard cover, but had the pickguard plastic.

They take about 4-5 business days.

It's something like one day to process & package for shipping.  If it's done by that day's cutoff, it goes out.  Otherwise it goes out the next day.

I had put an order in on a Friday and ended up receiving it by the following Thursday.

Did the same Free shipping (UPS ground), and it went from Illinois to California.

So I'm probably on the high end of shipping time

That's pretty darn good for free shipping. I sent the Explorer out ups ground from Arizona to South Carolina on a Friday and it got to them on that Thursday. But it cost $87 (77 after eBay discount) to do it.

I guess it depends mostly on whether you really want the matching Peavey unit. Keep searching Guitar Center's used section, Reverb, Sam Ash and MusicGoRound.

Yeah, shipping 200 guitars is nothing like shipping 200 games, as the guitars are going to be packaged properly in most cases, due to overall value. So if a place has more orders than normal, a delay is to be expected, but as stated, no harm in asking about it.

Called CME and they said my order was picked yesterday but hasn't shipped. The guy is supposed to be checking on the current status of it for me now and is supposed to call me back to let me know. He apologized a lot and explained that they've been busier than "seven consecutive Black Fridays". Apparently they've sold over 500 guitars now and the orders keep rolling in

I've been real happy with CME's customer service.

While Sweetwater still seems to have the best c/s out there, it's a bit sterile.

These guys are more like average joe's and want to provide you with a great experience.

And 500 guitars... day-uuuuuum.   Guess the secret is out :lol: .

The splash ad is advertising they are "Flush with Gear" (floor models). But check it out... it's almost all sold out.

Honestly, Gibson's predicament has the potential to make this the best year to find bargains on new/NOS.

Now I'm hearing that some GuitarCenter's are holding silent sales on Gibson guitars; knocking 30% off the current in-store price.

If this keeps up, there won't be anything left for Black Friday.
