The old Sears clearance thread was almost a year old, so I've taken the liberty of creating this one. I went back and wrote down the drops and lowest reported prices so far for all of 2007. The games may ring up more or less for you as prices are YMMV (your mileage may vary). The games should ring up at some sort of clearance price at every Sears store that carries games. They may not be tagged on clearance at your store, so you should have them scanned to find out what they ring up as. My local Sears rarely tags the clearance games, so I have to refer to this list. Games drop out of the system about a month after they hit $0.97.

Some clearance games at Sears were restocked over the holidays with new UPC stickers over the original UPC. These are ringing up $9.99-$19.99 as marked for now.

These prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand stores.

Lowest reported prices (games may ring up less or more at your store):

If you have a new game or lower price to list, post it here and I'll update the OP periodically. Even if a game is only a few dollars off, please report it here. The price WILL drop on a regular basis. When reporting a price, please give us the game title AND system.

Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103736

In my experience, the list of clearance games at Sears isn't YMMV, but the specific clearance prices are (prices drop at different speeds at different stores. Also, people keep complaining that the clearance games are ringing up $15-20 at their stores. If they would actually read this post, they'd know that's because those are restocked holiday games with new UPC tags. The old stock of those games should still ring up on clearance if you can find them.

And because people can't read, I'll say it again:

PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!

Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence range up full price for me at 2 different Sears stores. Can anyone Confirm the $6.97 price????

These are all tags from FEBRUARY

Odama - 44.97
Madden 06 GCN - $26.97
Yu-GI-Oh Double Pack GBA - $16.97
Baten Kaitos - -$2.97
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - $2.97
King Kong DS - $16.97 (right in the middle of the value bin ones tagged at 14.99)

I had a list written down, need to locate it

Dave

Since I just saw the thread I'm going to go out and search tomorrow. Hopefully I find something. Thanks OP for mentioning how it's YMMV. That's quite helpful indeed. I'll report back sometime tomorrow with my findings.

You might want to put the PRICES ARE ALL YMMV at the top of the OP as well as the bottom. Some people don't scroll all the way down and they start to feel all :bouncy: then YMMV syndrome sets in.
Do most Sears carry VGs? Also, would it be hard to find Goldeneye: rouge agent, LOZ:four swords adventures, and Geist? All for the GC

I'm glad that you specified that you were looking for the GC version of these games. The PS2 versions are all easy to find for 2.99 used at Gamestop/EB.
Does anyone know if these prices are good at Sears Grand Stores?
yes!!!

Maybe we can update the OP to include the following:

Prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand Stores.

LoL Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!

scored Star Ocean non-GH (wth was this still doing there?) for 7.97. outer cardboard is a little worn but I can't complain for the price. thanks Rictor.

Was just at my sears in West Palm Beach, Fla they had Warioware Twisted GBA for $1.97 & F-zero Gp Legend GBA For $4.97 & The Con PSP $3.97.
They also had Metal Gears Ac!d 2 rang up at $14.99

two of the rachet games were clearanced out at the sears i went to tonight. both GH versions, i don't remember which ones exactly, but i believe it was up your arsenal and going commando. one was 10.97 and the other was 17.97.

f-zero gp legend was also 4.97.

Ratchet and Clank with the red background, I think it was the third one, was clearance at my store for 15 dollars.

Metroid Pinball was 3, Trace Memory was 6, and Poker Tournament (or something) DS was 2.

I've yet to check out what Sears has in store but I'm hearing F Zero's are in good amount =]

Also, are all of these "first come, first serve" based deals?
are all of these "first come, first serve" based deals?
Edit: That was mean. Sorry.

Anyway, yes these deals are "first come, first serve". At some stores these titles haven't been in stock for months/years. For example, I have NEVER found a :gba: Final Fantasy Tactics in a 3 state area.

If you find a game you are interested at a price you like, pick it up. You could wait for another drop or two, but there's always the risk that what's too expensive for you is acceptable to somebody else.

I've missed out on quite a few games at Sears' clearance games(like :gba: Mario Advance 4 and Kirby Amazing Mirror and :xbox: DOA Ultimate) due to my not picking them up right away, or waiting for another price drop.

One more piece of advice: Sears has gotten much better about having the correct clearance prices on the games. This is especially true at those Sears' that have games in racks. The stores with games in glass cases are a bit more lax in updating prices IMO.

Good luck in your searches..

I freaking missed Mario Tennis GC a couple years ago for $25! :bomb: Of course, it was snatched up and when I wanted it I couldn't even find it at normal price at any of the stores I looked at.

Edit - I'd also like to add that F-Zero GP Legend for GBA is the worst game I've ever played. I can't even get past the first level!

I think they just did some more drops. I got Worms for 13.97 yesterday, but it was 16.97 on the tag and rang up that way just last week. Don't know about any other games, that was the only one I was interested in.

Oh and the Halo 2 Collector's edition is 18.97, but good luck finding it.

Trade-in values are minus 20% for cash and checked as of March 17th, 2007.

I stole this from a GameStop employee in Florida
I'll scan in the rest later
Edit: I have no idea how accurate it is, Im just posting for people who might be interested

So basically buy HL2 and you get 200% profit on trade ins and anything else isn't worth trading in?

I did a similar approach last year and bought up a ton of clearance games at Sears for fun (GC games) and for profit then used the proceeds of selling them on Ebay to fund my Wii purchase.
I had a similar margin approach where I had only a few that I could flip for >$5 profit. It was the best way to be a CAG and get a Wii for
whoa...thats pretty major dongs, but when does it take effect?
What? Its just a list of the Sears clearanced games and their trade in values at GS

Nice job with the list OP!

Also, Ridge Racer for PSP was $2.97 (rather than $9.97) when I picked it up last Fall.
And has anyone even seen a Donkey Konga with bongs in any story this year?
I picked one up a couple days ago. Lucky for me, it was in a glass case and had a $25 tag on it. It actually rang up for $9.60. More than I expected, but still a deal.

dongs - WOW, that is amazing! Can you get any other lists from this GS employee? I don't think it is so useful for the Sears clearance games, but we have a trade-in price wiki here on CAG and it is always helpful to everyone to have the latest values in there. When I get some time later Sunday I will add all those xbox game prices into the wiki. Very nice set of data there - usually our data points are the occasional sets of trades people post in misc. threads or update in the wiki themselves. I just added some Gamecrazy trades I did today, for example.

One question - is the disclaimer at the bottom saying that these are the cash prices (thus already minus 20%)? Or are they saying take another 20% off for cash trades? Because of course we're only interested in the store credit values here. Trading stuff for cash at EB/GS is pretty useless (given how little they give you not to mention most CAG's flip games to get other games so credit is fine). I'm guessing that these are -20% because many of them are 80 cents, and $1 is a typical trade-in price for cheap games. (Actually, of course, the trade-in should be +10% because of Edge/More card.)

Yeah they are the cash prices

I guess the GameStop employee had other plans in mind, like ripping his place of employ off. I personally wouldnt update the wiki with those values since I wouldnt consider them a reputable source, but I guess that is up to you

dang. I was planning to pick up a new Fire emblem POR today all 3 were gone. PM me if you guys have an extra for trade.

I've checked like 5 local Sears, and none of them have any deals on games. They HAVE the games, but they are all $14.99-19.99. I don't know where the hell you people find games for 97 cents...

I know what you mean. I've been to a few Sears in the past months and never saw any game under $5 (except some Jampacks).

So, I managed to locate a bunch of Taiko Drum Masters, and they scanned at....get this....79 fucking 99

Same location had a 12 month crimson skies XBL kit, but it didn't scan and the employee was clueless.

Sears here in Brevard (FL) had
 • NBA Street V3 (PS2) for $1.97
 • Pikmin 2 (GCN) for $1.97
 • Karaoke Revolution Volume 2 (PS2) for $4.97
And if you are curious, the trade-in values (credit) to GS:
 • NBA Street V3 (PS2) is $4.00
 • Pikmin 2 (GCN) is $7.00
 • Karaoke Revolution Volume 2 (PS2) is $11.00
Has anyone checked the Gamecube system bundles lately? Specifically the Mario Kart and Metroid bundles.
I asked a Sears employee about the Gamecubes today. He said they were clearanced for about $26.00 and that someone came in to the store a few days ago and bought 7 or 8 of them.

There were none there today. This is at the Toledo, OH store near the Westgate shopping center. I might check out another store tomorrow.

He also said that the Xbox systems have been clearanced to a cheap price.

If someone gets an extra cheap Gamecube or Xbox from Sears and wants to help me out, please send me a PM.

I am willing to check my local sears tomorrow. They had some last monday when I was in, but I don't know about the price(since many of the games have been YMMV)

I stopped at my local sears today and picked up GC Paper Mario for $14.97. It was cheaper than the list qouted, so I was happy.

I scored

Metal Gear Acid $3.97 price marked correctly on the front cover it was inside the locked case behind two other PSP games with the back cover facing forward I almost missed it. My lucky day. :)

GH Hot Shots Golf 3 price marked $4.97 rang up $1.97 this one was outside the locked case :)

PH Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets xbox price marked $19.99 rang up $2.97

I asked the employee to scan a big stack of games for me but my memory is not very good I cannot remember most of the prices next time I will bring a pen and paper. R Racing Evolution, Spy Hunter and another game 2 in 1 cart for gba, Gauntlet and another game 2 in 1 cart for gba, Ratchet Deadlocked, a GH LOTR PS2 game, Taito Legends, Atari Anthology, gh Hot Shots Golf Fore, Outrun 2 xbox are some of the games that were outside that I had price checked Outrun 2 xbox is still $9.99

Checked the Sears near me, and the Metroid Bundle still comes in at $99.99. But they have a ton(like 10+), so hopefully a clearance will kick in soon.

If anyone finds a $26 Gamecube bundle I would be down for a trade or payback + shipping if you would be willing to send me one.

I checked another Sears today for Gamecube systems. They had two non bundle systems in stock but both rang up $99.

I went to a different Sears yesterday and the worker there said the Gamecubes have been clearanced for about $26 but they had sold them all. I think the Gamecubes clearanced may have been the Metroid or Mario Kart bundles.
Are you in Canton? Cause when i was there a few weeks ago I noticed the abnormal amount of Metroid bundles

Dave
If you were asking me, I am in the Nati. So maybe it is an Ohio thing.

I am beginning to hate this YMMV thing. I mean, for pete's sake, you're a NATIONAL chain. Make your prices national, not hit or miss everywhere you go.

I will have to try another sears on friday to see if they have the cheap gamecubes.

edit cause my grammar sucks

I got Star Ocean til the end of time for 4.99 in evansville, in. It wasn't marked and in the 14.99-19.99 bin. I went up and asked for a price thinkin it might be 14.99 yhrn I'd get it but it ended up being 4.99.
