Serious Sam for XBLA!

Damn making my original XBox versions worthless lol.

Looks good but even as a remake not sure I can drop $15 on it, hope it has a ton of new content.

Side note that if this sells well maybe we'll get a Serious Sam 2 remake cuz I never bought SS2.
Whatever happened to SS3?
This I'm guessing.

I just can't wait to find all the secrets again and use the cannonball gun.

And I probably got the SS Gold edition with both games for this much or less but I don't mind the small premium for having XBL friends play with me in HD.
Overpriced for sure, but I'll probably cave anyway. The first is backwards compatible though for those that care.
Shit, forgot about that. Time to go dig it out!

Well, I'll definitely be picking this up. I played the second Serious Sam, but never managed to get the first. I look forward to this.

How is this overpriced at $15?

This was one that actually sold to and complete for under $5. Some people won't care if It's a remake if it offers little in terms of new content. So it can be over priced for them, just saying.

For $15 combined with the insane deals you can find on eBay and such for points ($35 for $50 worth of points... do the math) this is easily worth $15 for me which turns into $10, and perhaps even lower with members like akino selling game codes on fleabay.

I'll probably be donating my original copy to good will soon.

Let's not forget Duke Nukem 3D is 800 points and has no graphical improvements or Co-op. A great game, but Serious Sam offers a lot more content.

Ehhh. Making it not look shitty on an HD screen is an improvement to me. And it does have co-op and I think for up to four on any and all levels. Not to mention REWINDING to any part during your play through on a level is a big improvement for any game. So. Yah.
So wait, is this going to include 1 and 2?
No. Wasn't obvious from the title of the game? Haha.

If this does well I'm sure we'll see 2nd Encounter.

So let's say a developer makes a new retail game exclusive to XBL. What do you all suppose you should pay? (I can't wait to see the answers)
No. Wasn't obvious from the title of the game? Haha.

...no? If it's called Serious Sam Forever, I wouldn't automatically think that means just the first game. I saw the copywrights on the bottom of the trailer page talking about both Serious Sam 1 and 2, but I guess I put too much thought into it.

Still going to buy it regardless

Whoops, I forgot about Duke Nukem's co-op. Rewinding a level playthrough isn't that much different from being able to save and load from anywhere, but still a good idea.

But Furry, I wasn't aware of any graphical improvements to Duke other than the widescreen borders. Duke is just the original game running at a higher resolution - just like Doom and Wolfenstein 3D - and it'd look the same if you ran the PC version at the same resolution.

Yeah nm on the graphic upgrades in Duke. I'm pretty sure I read that this is just the First Encounter tho guys. If it's both encounters anyone still saying it's overpriced is just too cheap.

Couple of reasons. First the original is backwards compatible(live compatible MP) and can be found in bargain bins. Second, the game was a bargain bin title on the day of it's release 10 years ago. So with marginal improvements, a 10 year old FPS is still worth roughly 50% of it's initial price? You get bigger drops than that inside of a couple months these days.

I'm probably still buying, but $15 just sounds high for a game this old.

I don't think the original has Live multiplayer. It does have split-screen and system link though.

Also I find Serious Sam to be more fun than many modern shooters. It's an all-time favorite.

Duke Nukem was great with the rewind and co-op, otherwise the multiplayer was pretty "meh" and I just trudged through it for achievements.

Serious Sam is great for co-op and system link brawling, but I am waiting on if both episodes/content are in this remake before I donate my original copy to good will just yet.

It's overpriced because one random copy sold for $3? This logic applies to no other area ever.

You don't know how addicted I was to this game. This game got me into FPS. Played the 2nd encounter like crazy on PC, even was a part of a few clans and a forum dedicated to SS

800 points would be better actually if it's just the first encounter. Hype got the best of me.

I just can't wait to do it all over again but with friends.

Most copies aren't selling for much more. The average price shipped is under $5.

By that logic they should sell the XBLA game for $5. But considering how they're putting some effort into adding Xbox Live play and redoing the graphics, they certainly wouldn't make any money selling it for the bare minimum price.

Whatever peoples stance on the price is, I have a gut feeling this is merely Croteam testing the waters to see if there is a market for Serious Sam 3 these days.
