Simpsons DVD

Define "the simpsons collection". I have some of the DVD seasons, if that's what you're refering to.

Also, wrong forum.

Anybody think that they'll release some gigantenormous series collection once all the DVDs have officially been released? That's the only reason why I haven't already picked up Seasons 1-7 yet, and yes, I do plan on marathoning the entire thing.

GOOD GOD..... Lets see its known there will be 400+ episodes so we will say an average of 22min thats 8800 min or 147ish hours 6.12 days thats a damn Marathon. To be honest I think they will release that but it going to cost, FOX has it signed until 2008 (season 19) and I have no doubt it will go to the 20th season and I think then it will end. If I where you I would just start buying when you see good deals and not wate until the $450 box set....

lol simpsons will end when homer's voice actor dies

They wont end it when the VA dies. Plenty of people who sound just like them, or they could just recycle old audio tracks.

But yea, a 19 season box set would be pretty damn big.

it's going to take 10 more years at this rate for them to release each season, at that point if they keep going with the series they will be in their 30th season so it will take 20 years for every season to come out, HD-dvd will be obsolete at that point nevermind dvd. But yeah keep holding out for that $400- box set.
They'll stop it when the show becomes unprofitable remember?

Yep, I have all the seasons. It was a kick ass show before it jumped the shark.

And when was this? I still think it's the best show on TV (dethroned by Futurama for 5 years though).

I have all of them but Season 3, and got all of them for under $20 each. I used to have 3, but someone offered me $25 and I haven't seen it for under $20 since.

Not that fox is the same thing as wb, but when the 10th season of friends came out, there was also a really nice looking set that had all 10 seasons. But thankfully, in the the 10th season set there was a mail in coupon where if you paid for the shipping you would get the box free(which is a really nice wood box witha glass door).

Considering that fox did the whole, if you dont like the homer head packaging, then you mail in for a box replacement, I wouldnt be surprised if they do something similar to what WB did with friends.

Part of the reason why it takes so long is that they record commentary on every episode. Still, they need to bust their seasons out at a faster rate than 2 season per year. Plus, they're making a movie I hear (seriously).

I have all of the released sets except for 7 (that's the last one that's come out, right?). I was getting them right when they released, but then 6 months or so later someone would run a huge sale on them so I've decided to just wait. Most of the TV sets I watch now I stay a season behind whatever's been released & just wait on the price drops.

I have all the sets so far and plan on waiting for better deals on the upcoming seasons......

The prices on the sets drop so much in just a year and ill wait til then to grab me the season 8. I remeber getting 2 of the sets for under $20...

I'm holding out for a box set for two very important reasons:

As someone pointed out, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray could possibly make the DVD sets somewhat obsolete. It remains to be seen whether or not FOX will reissue the seasons on the new formats, continue to make them on DVD, or simply use the new formats from season 9 and down.

Secondly, I would also like to see a limited edition box set that would possibly include some extras such as cartoon cells, autographs, and maybe a Krusty brand "Pregnancy Tester".

Well FOX has said they have NO plans to cancel the show. And Matt G and the producers have said they plan on going on for a long time... so we're looking at atleast 25 seasons. Yey! :)

Oh and I have seasons 1-4 on DVD ... needa get 5-7 ... any place where I can get those cheap?

Sorry, I didn't mean to use obsolete in that sense. What I meant to say is that they might no longer use the DVD format for season 9 and down. Think about it, using Blu-Ray discs you could possibly fit an entire season onto one disc. I just wonder if they'll reissue the first eight seasons on a new format.

I bought 3 seasons at Best Buy last week for $19.99 each. They had seasons 1-6 for that price. Now I am only mssing season 7. Also Futurama seasons 1-4 are 19.99 each at Best Buy this week. I will try to pick up all 4.

I have Seasons 1-7 and am getting 8 in a couple weeks when it comes out. I can't wait to get them all either.

For a box set, I could see a set for maybe Seasons 1-10 after 10 have come out, but not something like 20 seasons.
Don't foget that Sam's Club also has

Simpsons 1-7
Futurama 1-4
Family Guy 1-3
American Dad 1

All for $17.76 each.
WTF? Really? Is that still going on? I think I know someone with a Sam's Club membership.

In 2000 it became a pretty crappy show. The classic episodes before that are great, but the new ones have awful jokes and deal with boring subjects. Every once in awhile a decent one airs though, but none compare to its glory days.... and I think Futurama is pretty boring.
