Sly Cooper Collection for PS3. Playable in HD and in 3D.
check youtube, but collecting bottles for sly 2 isnt necessary and honestly, almost not worth the hassle.
1. Youtube was the first place I looked. Again the problem is most of the videos are walktrhoughs showing how to beat the entire world and get bottles in the process. This means they take WAY too long to just find bottle locations.

2. The bottles are necessary if you are going for the Platinum trophy, which I am.

Edit - Hmmmmm NM on point two, I guess I was wrong on that. Collecting all the bottles is not one of the requirements for a plat trophy. I guess I will only bother with bottles that give good rewards.

collecting bottles is only needed for the plat on sly 1 (i have all 3 plats). which is why i said collecting them in 2 isnt worth the hassle. all the good abilities are on thiefnet.

Still a lot of fun though.

For those looking for a suggestion for finding bottles in Sly 2: try turning the music volume all the way down and listening for the clink clank of the bottles.

So I don't need to get all the bottles in Sly 2 and 3 to get 100%?

Good to know. Do I just need to buy all abilities or whatever?

glad i picked this up when amazon had it for $30. cant believe i missed these games on the PS2.

To get 100% in sly 3 do i have to do all the Master Thief missions?

Thanks 8bitartist for the tips on 2 and 3. I just finished the first one last night, love it. Some of the bottles are annoying though  But the levels are not difficult and you can rety/die over and over w/o penalties.

There's a rare glitch I like to point out though. It wasted me a good 10 minutes :whistle2:(

When you're collecting bottles in part one (required for platinum trophy), if you're close to the total number (say missing one or two), and you can't seem to find the missing bottles (even with the help of the blueprints, i.e. breakables and bottles are displayed when you use the binacu-com), just redo the level...

You want to know why? Because some bottles are contained in the little safe box thingy. You have to smash it to reveal the bottles inside... However, sometimes you hit the safe to many times or there's an enemy near by, the bottles might falloff the edge/cliff, hence they will be in the water/pit

How do I came to that conclusion? Well, I used the binacu-com to locate the missing bottle and the damn thing kept on telling me that the bottle is in the water  I finally gave up and restarted the mission... Only to realize that the missing bottle was from a safe!

Also, the final vault can't be opened until you beat the game (watching the credits twice is a pain). Most of the bottles are in plain sight, only a few is semi-well hidden. If you have problems with the bottles, just try to unlock the blueprint of the area which allows you to hunt the bottles using your binacu-com.

Oh, for those of you with 3D TVs... I think there are few 3D moments in the game, like the rotating fans in the first area and ghosts in the Voodoo area. I also noticed shifting/ghosting images (not in 3D mode) when I played the game. They don't bother you much, but if you pay attention to the background (like the big screw thing on pipes etc.) you can see there are two layers in that image as Sly moves to next frame or something like that.

Taking a short break before 2 and 3...

Ok so Sly 3 is def not an easy plat as many people thought, nor do you get it just by playing through story mode. To get the Plat for Sly 3 you must complete 100% of the game which means defeating all the bonus challanges after the game ends. These are mostly missions from the main game, but now you must complete them with special stipulations like you only have half life or there is a time limit. They are not like super difficult or anything, most I have beat on a single play through....but a few like defeat General Tsao with only half your life can take a several tries to beat and even if they did not it still adds a lot of time on to the game.

O I dont think its like Super Hard or anything, hell since I posted that tan hour or two ago I am most of the way done. I have been working backwards starting at the last level and moving towards the first level and I am already most of the way through Holland and that is with stopping to make several posts on the net/respond to PMs. I just wanted to warn people that when the game is over they still have an hour and a half to three hours(depending on skill)of challenges ahead of them. I think General Tsai and the stupid RC car one are the only two so far that took me more then 3 or 4 tries and most can be beat in 1 try.

This.
Just beat the storyline for Sly3, didn't realize all the challenges you have to go through.. Very annoying, since as you said most are rehashes of parts of the main game. :(
Though I really like the treasure hunts on the other worlds, though.

I swear these damn challenges are pissing me off on Sly 3.. How the hell do you get past the Cave Mayhem challenge? That's the one where you have to escape from the cave before time limit and w/o dying and kill 12 kangaroos or dingos.. either I die or I try to rush to the end and time limit expires...

Hrmmmm do not know what to say, it only took me two tries to beat that one and I finished it with tons of extra health and time. Are you knocking them off of ledges? It is much less time consuming to knock the enemies off of ledges then to take time whittling their health down.

Yeah I usually knock them off the ledges as I race to the end, only stopping if I get knocked down. I always run out of time right around when riding the 3 sets of hooks on the conveyor belt. Maybe I'll look on utube for video help lol.

Well what I did was when I hit the first big group of enemies I stopped and knocked a bunch of them off the ledge getting most of the way to my goal. From there I raced towards the end knocking enemies off of ledges where I could. Hope that helps.

Are there any ledge shortcuts you took to help cut down on time?

OMG I'm so pissed I was doing the whole challenge wrong... I just watched a youtube vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgbI9CRjNSQ
and apparently I was going left where in the video at 1:01 instead of going straight to the exit..
I thought I was supposed to go left because of the silver stars which meant I could spire jump/slide on it.. so I was always running out of time on the damn hooks on the conveyor belt.. They really needed to add a way point deal on this level lol

LOFL! I was wondering how the fuck you were struggling with that level so badly...I was sitting and thinking man how did he even beat the game in the first place if he can not beat such a simple challenge ;)

Yeah I probably should have done the challenges after ever chapter instead of waiting to the end of the game, so I remember how to to them lol.
I'm on Challenge #15 Pressure Brawl now.. damn keep running out of time on that one when fighting as The Murray.

I started this game and stopped to play through AC:B. Just finished the first game (for the first time), it was a lot of fun.

I'm sure it's because I'm fresh off AC:B, but I couldn't help but think how awesome it would be if there was a Sly Cooper / Assassin's Creed crossover where sly would get in the Animus and play through each world as one of his ancestors, fighting a boss and some form of clockwerk throughout the ages.

nobody in particular. Just thought the game's stories shared a lot of parallels some sense. Ancestors that have the same skill sets / goals, and an enemy that kind of transcends all of them.

They could do a leave where you play as Tennessee Cooper as a western- then when you are done, sly has learned the technique, he could carry that technique on with him through the other levels..

So I'm playing through Sly 2 right now and it's taking FOREVER. There's so much to do - almost too much. Each new area is beautifully constructed, but it seems like I'm doing the same thing over and over again.

I just beat
the Contessa
, am I near the end at all?

I'm still tempted to pick this up if/when it hits $20. I played Sly and Sly 2 though so 3 would be the only "new" game for me... I did like the first two but I thought #2 was a little too long and I was having trouble staying interested - it is the main reason why I skipped 3 altogether.
