Today I knew that I was going to go buy BB today so I decided to print out the coupons from this thread http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=126307 and stop in and see if they had anything left. With the help of these coupons I was able to get this for a total of $7 + change. PSP Virtua Tennis and GC Chicken Little were essentially free after the coupons. With a few people in this thread asking about Chicken Little I decided to pick it up for my nephews.

Also I tried to get Jak 2 for the PS2 but the register didn;t take the coupon saying that Jak 2 was on "clearance". I told her they were all on clearance but she was not able to help. I was just happy to make out with what I had so I told her to forget it.

My kitten couldn't help but get in on this thread too! :)

Yeah, you can still find a game or 2 if you look hard enough. I went to 4 or 5 stores yesterday (one of which I had hit the day of the sale) and still managed to find 4 new games, 6 copies of Harvest Moon DS, and 2 copies of Harvest Moon MM.

On topic: I went back to the first Best Buy I hit up during this sale and to my surprise it looked as if every clearance game had been restocked. I was able to grab Quake 4 360, Tonk Hawk 360, Full Auto 360, Beatmania bundle, and the princess gba game for my girlfriends little sister.

And I know these have to be restocks because I havev't seent a beatmania bundle at that store in a very long time.

Anyways...I went down the morning the sale started, and two stores already wiped out...although I suspect they were cleaned out before the sale got rolling because there were not a lot of those bin tags for the games either. At the second store an employee was actually pulling the remaining games, mentioning he had to send them back to the manufacturer...so my guess is these will show up at various stores in two-fer packs some day.

And I don't think it is because I am in a high CAG area...a few years back when the CC sale was going on, I was able to clean up, even well after the sale started.

If I wasn't waiting for the damn satellite guy would sneak off to BB and check for restocks.....
 
Just went back this morning to the same Best Buy that I went to Monday and only found one copy of Micro Machines (which I bought) for PS2 and Madden 2005 for GC (which I didn't buy). It looks like my Best Buy didn't restock anything. Anyone checked out the one in Warwick, RI.

Ok I read somewhere that Powerstone was being manually rang up at $10 but I was wondering if it is ringing up at $10 at every Best Buy, because I would love a copy for that cheap since there are a couple copies left at my Best Buy.
 
I have a question that may have already been answered, but I don't feel like searching through 90+ pages to find out if that's the case (and I don't know how to refine a search like that, if it's possible, so sorry) - Is Oblivion CE still not ringing up as $9.99 for most people, or who has it rung up $9.99 for? Just wondering because I'd still like to get one, and when I tried, it wasn't happening. Thanks. Also, same for GTA: San Andreas (GH) (ringing up $19.99 instead of $1.99).

Read below for the explanation from another post. In other words, Oblivion CE has two versions. The older version will ring up $9.99 while the new version will ring up as $59.99.

Interesting. So, I guess I'm probably not going to be able to convince the BB employees that it's really supposed to be ringing up at $9.99 on clearance. Still several HArvest Moon for GC at $9.99 at Cherry Hill, NJ.

Found Power Rangers SPD for GBA at $2.

Still some $5 games left in the xbox section... and lots of the over-stickered and boxed clearance games.

Lots of DS lites, also. PInk and Black, and at least one wiimote.
 
Best Buy Westwood, CA restocked again... I picked up Narnia DS, Urbz DS (watch out, they have the normal and restickered copies-- I got a normal copy with original UPC and it rang up at $1.99 as expected-- it's over by the registers, NOT with the games), Incredible Hulk (Xbox) and Castlevania (Xbox). They had more Urbz and Incredible Hulks, don't think they had any more of Narnia or Castlevania, though.

They got more Final Fantasy XI (360-- a guy was in the process of buying 1 copy but I think they had more), some PS2 games (blanking on them, sorry), NBA 2K6 for the Xbox...

Strangely, more people were browsing when I was there than were even there Monday. I did notice a few guys who just knew there was a "sale" and proceeded to grab every Gamecube player's choice game and annoy the hell out of the poor clerk by asking him to scan every single game (and of course none of the ones they had were on sale).
 
Sorry if this has been asked, but I haven't been keeping up with this thread because I thought I had no shot at finding anything. But lo and behold today I found Death Jr. (PSP) at BestBuy. Unfortunately, it rang up for $9.99 instead of $1.99... so what's up with that? Is this deal YMMV?

It's OK, Nemo, I'll handle it ;).

If it has a sticker over the UPC code (a new UPC code, basically) then it is not part of the original stock and will ring up either $9.99 or $14.99. This was special stock that was purchased by Best Buy for their pre-Christmas displays and is usually placed at the front near the registers (where it was originally - at one of my stores most of it has been moved back to the regular game racks though). If you can find a copy of Death Jr with the original UPC then it will be $1.99. Same goes for Nanobreaker, Urbz DS, Sega Classics, Duel Masters, and a few others.

Let's face it, you only found that clearance game because no one else was able to buy it for $1.99 - I'm sure 20 other people brought it up and then refused to buy it when it came up $10 ;). There was a stack of such games up by the register at a Best Buy I went to last Monday.

However, with the GamePro coupon, it will only be $5, and, c'mon, we're all cheapasses but if you want the game, paying $5 instead of $2 is not so bad, is it?

I picked up Final Fantasy XII Art guides x 3 for a penny each, which made me remember that no one in my area ever seems to be up on deals. So I printed the 11 page list to take to the store... and didn't find much else.

I found Siren (PS2) with a $1.99 backer-card price, but it had a hand-made sticker inserted in the security box that said "Now $28" or something. I took it anyway, and it was $1.99 when it rang up. Hoping to go back this week when I've got more than 10 minutes to skim the titles, but I doubt I'll see much.

Also, I think it would be very cool if what we know about this sale was condensed to the first post - this page alone explained the Oblivion 2-UPC deal and how some games with sticker UPC's are not the sale price, two things I would never know without reading 100 pages and wouldn;t have any idea how to search out. I think it would be very helpful - heck, maybe a whole new thread dedicated to 'just the facts' - in fact, this thread is so long, a NEW thread might be in order anyway. Just some thoughts.

Hey, I found one of those last Monday when I was hunting for the clearance games. It was just stuck in with the FF XII's I think. I was surprised as hell to see it, and only because of CAG did I have any idea what it was or that it might ring up a penny (which it did).

As for the rest, I don't think a new thread is needed. However, I agree that the OP should be updated with those two bits of info (I didn't know about the Oblivion CE different versions - not that it mattered as no Best Buy I went to had any of them). Since the actual OP seems to have run off, maybe a mod can add those things in.

When I went to my BB on Monday I asked about the clearance. The guy looked at me and chuckled saying yeah that the clearance was fake. I told him I heard of alot of people getting games at the clearance price at other BB. He told me well we did have some of the games but they sold out early. I looked at him and thought to my self well if you had some and they sold out it means it was true you just sold out. So i searched the store hoping to find something but couldnt find anything so I just went home. =0(
 
I don't know if this is TOO EVIL but i've been going to the big deal forums like Fatwallet and Slickdeals and posting that they are restocking these titles from their backroom inventory just for shits and giggles and plus i'm still a little sore that the info was leaked to just about every deal site in the world. Well, i guess alls i can say is, my bad :)

The only way for it not to be leaked was for it to have never been posted at all. is just to diffiuclt to keep things confined to one site with people wandering around and wanting "rep" points by posting a good deal. I wouldn't have posted it to any other site if I had the chance, i'd rather try to get the goods myself without inviting ebayers into the mix. Kudos to the original op of this deal whoever they were for wanting to share; i'd have hit the clearance myself first then posted it that day for everyone else.

It was $20 at the one Best Buy I found that had it - and that's with a price check and the original UPC. However (and I did post this before) I swear it was marked $10 the first day of the sale (last Monday). But since I was out of GamePro PSP coupons I held off. When I went back it was $19.99. Wierd...
 
Went to the BB in Westland, MI last night... The only thing I found was the Bible Game for Xbox for 4.99... It is still sitting there if anyone wants to rush out and buy it.

Went to Best Buy yesterday, and found nothing but junk. No $1.99 games at all, but lots of junk $9-$15 games. Didn't even see any of the latest price drops.

There is one more Best Buy to check... but I'm too lazy at the moment.

I tried to remove the sticker but it was a pain in the ass. I remember FF for cube was one of the $2 games from last year so thats why I wanted to rip it off, but it just tore part of it and it still covered the original.
 
I hate those stickers, and my BB won't price check them under the title to see that they're really 1.99. Even if it is when they pull it up they say they can't price adjust because it's a diff sku due to the sticker. Sucks
 
Don't know if this is a YMMV situation, but our Best Buy has a storewide clearance on random items (mostly monitors, printers, etc), but they did have a rack of random games that were 50% off. Not much of note, though there were about 5 copies of NBA Live '06 (360) and 10 copies of Table Tennis (360) marked down to $9.98 from $19.99. The rest was full of Backyard Wrestling 2 (XB), Arena Football (XB), and Gangs Of London (PSP).
