I went to the Santana Row best buy in sj, ca and they had some of the games on the list. They weren't the same prices but they were buy one get one free.
 
Does anybody know if the Karaoke Revolution games will be the mic bundles or just the game?

I'm a little worried, went to two Best Buys and was able to nab a few of these easily (couldn't find FFXI though >_
 
nothing at 3 BB Stores in NW H-town. Only Midnight Club 3 DUB, Mega Man Anniv. Collection, and Narc for XBox. Also, i saw nhl 2k6 and college hoops 2k6
 
Between the fact that the Best Buys in the Metro Detroit area haven't had much in terms of older games for some time and the fact that the roads are absolute SHIT right now (my driveway and the entire surface of the court I live in were literally one giant sheet of lice), I'm thinking I'm not going to bother for this one.

I have never had a problem asking if I could return and rebuy an item at BB because of a price adjustment or saying I had a GC or Reward Zone certificate I forgot to use. The girls at the customer service desk have always been cool about it. Worst case scenario is you have to return the games and get a full refund.
 
Made it to 3 Best Buy stores in DSM / Ames IA

Found more than I thought I would....passed up on several.....Trapt (PS2), Megaman Maverick Hunter (PSP), Gradius Collection (PSP), Wild Arms 4 (PS2), Godfather CE (XBOX) and a few more since I had them already.

Hmmm.. I wonder if somebody at corporate actually made a good command decision to pull these games via an email to managers as the list was released (to prevent price adjustment insanity). C'mon, every retailer is familiar with deal sites on the interwebs (just look at how hard the BFads site gets slammed every year).

For anybody thinking it's a hoax, keeping older games on the shelf is kind of a cost to the store by not allowing more space for newer and higher priced inventory that's higher in demand. Faster moving product should take the place of obsolete product, and selling the obsolete product cheaply now is cheaper to the store in real terms by not taking up valuable shelf space. If it is a hoax though.. holy shit it would have been PERFECT for April 1st.

By the way, I called my Best Buy to check for deals to. Unfortunately, I was shot down.. they do not sell porn, and no midgets hookers are on call at the local Geek Squad. Bummer.. I'm sure my reward zone certs would've been good for a handie at least.
 
Quick heads up to my fellow Dirty Jerz CAGers the Union, NJ BB has a TON of Oblivion CEs. Didn't see any other games from the list (at least not the ones I was looking for), I would pick up more for people here but I won't be around until at least Wednesday.

I've been saying that same thing all along. It's going to be YMMV on getting the games price adjusted. Some stores have nicer, more competent folks that would be more willing to assist you. Others not so much. Worst case if the games are unopened, you have your receipt, and they won't adjust them JUST fuckING RETURN THEM!!!! Why is this so difficult for people to understand.

Is it possible that there are other games dropping tomorrow which haven't been seen on the list?

The reason for my asking is this. After a few local BBs today, I drove out to Alabama and at on of them there was a cart towards the front with games. All of them (blah titles for the most part) had a green dot sticker on them, and on the cart was a green hand-made sign saying 25% off. Clearly managament was trying to move the games out ahead of time an not take a huge hiton the major drops tomorrow. Anyway, on this cart with the other games was Yakuza, which I don't recall seeing on the list.


Edit: In reading these posts from last night, some of you are expecting VP lenneth and a few other titles to be 1.99. Many will be 1.99. Some titles such as VP will be 9.99.
 
you know what really sucks about this? The fact that anybody who happens to have some of these games already on their tradelist will have people asking them to sell it dirt cheap since Best Buy had it for $1.99.

now on to the flood of wantlists for $1.99 games even though we dont know yet how many of these games will actually be found yet

I believe green dots are local store clearances that are at the discretion of the store manager.

i agree with guin, i saw some games today that had red dots on them and was silently freaking out inside but it could just be something else.........
does anyone know what red dot stickers mean?

These sales are appear at random BB's around the country. One of them in Austin is doing it.

The cashiers never know anything about it. I had to tell the lady today that it was one of the games, and she didn't even check if I was telling the truth :roll:
 
Well I guess in a few hours we'll all find out if this list is true or not. If it is I plan on picking up extra games just for gifts for people thru out the year.
 
Wow my BB is already cleared out. Does anyone know if the PS2 American Idol game with microphone is the one on clearance?

But the reason I ask about Yakuza possibly being on the drop list s because that specific BB had about 38 copies of Loco Roco at full price. There were only a handful of Yakuza. *shrugs*

That's awesome no price match for clearance. I hope they tell these people they can't do a price adjustment. You can either keep them at full price or return them. We will put them out later so you can't buy them. lol
 
Wow, awesome deals, but dammit..thx to CAG I literally own all those games on sale..damn..didn't think my gaming collection was that huge now, and to think I started it 3 year's ago for all of the last gen consoles. Hope you guys get it, but seeing as IGN, Gamespot, NeoGAF, FW, SD have this linked on there title threads..it'll be "Survival of the Fittest" tomorrow and see how many people can you plough through to get the games you want.

Checking my local BB's (San Jose, Sunnyvale, Moutainview) they did not have any of the popular games beyond the two (and only) games I picked up Harvest Moon DS and Valkyrie Profile Lennith PSP.

They did have lots of Sims:URBS DS and Nanobreaker PS2, however they all have a bar-code sticker covering the box BC, that probably means they will always ring up at the $9.99 price tag...?

I think that means that there's no price match for OTHER STORES' clearance.
 
I just checked 4 BB and found almost nothing on that list....

And I DON'T think it's cause the games were pulled. Most of those games have been gone from BB for AGES now... Did you guys even check the GC section??? It's a joke.... An entire page of price drops dedicated to the GC, and the only games at the physical stores still is crap like Ant Bully and that Penguin game...

This has been a colossal waste of time for me...:cry:

I just don't see any of these games actually being in the stores, unless you live in the middle of nowhere and some dumb manager ordered too many copies of all those games.
 
anyone know if some of these games are Greatest Hits et al or original only? I don't know if the UPC changes, or just box art. I picked up a couple GTA SA for friends (and for trade here if they end up not wanting them) but they are GH. I guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow.

if anyone is in FL the FT lauderdale store has uhm like a zillion of the regular xbox games and they will be in a bin, or table or sep. area.

Let's analyze this together shall we? The first paragraph indicates that you cannot price match/adjust (you idiots arguing over the difference, shoot yourselves now) everything. HOWEVER, two sentences later it says that the policy may vary between stores. Gee, if that's not the definition of YMMV, I don't know what is.

This means Best Buy's corporate policy is to NOT price match/adjust on ANY item that has been put on clearance, regardless of its origin.

This does not mean it will be impossible to get a price match/adjustment. As demonstrated in this very thread, morons run rampant in our society, and some of them even work at Best Buy. You may find someone who hates their job/wants things to be easy, and they'll let you get away with whatever you want. Yes, realistically, if they don't price match/adjust for you, you can just return the games, and buy them later, but keep in mind, Best Buy completely and rightfully has it in their power to not allow you to do it at that same instant. They could just as easily throw the games in a "returns" bin, to be put back on the floor at a later time. Man, would that piss you off? It's all going to depend on if you get someone who realizes you're trying to pull a fast one on the system, and whether or not they care to make it difficult for you. I know what I'd do..haha. PSP Madden 07 is a typo. It actually should be PS2 Madden 07 Collector's Edition I believe. I could not find on the jpg that was posted the PSP Madden 07. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
 
does anyone know know how this is going to work? are teh games going to be in bins for sale or we won't see them again...since i went to a BB in NYC and i can't find any of the items on the list...
