nah, oculus essentially won, or at least cleared of what would have been a much much larger fine, there is no real guilty/not guilty in a civil trial. They were found not to be using any zenimax material (misappropriating trade secrets) but were still fined 500mil for carmack and luckey's indiscretions of violating nda's. Thats a drop in the bucket to facebook, plus it will be appealed anyway

That ign article is horrible, only quoting a zenimax statement, you never just use statements from one side in a legal case to write an article, its always going to be biased. Ars may quote a bit of oculus' statement but at least they actually analyze the verdict
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/02/oculus-execs-liable-for-500-million-in-zenimax-vr-trial/
You can't deny the quotes are funny. Seriously, a well know developer doesn't know how to erase a hard drive, or especially realize his parent company can monitor his activity. Middle School kids know that.

It's like listening to politicians try to figure out what "deleted emails" means, and then write laws on tech they don't understand.

Let's play some of those super shitty free MMOs I got booster packs for via that terrible Yogscast bundle. That way, we'll be playing a horrible game but at least I'll start with a free +1 sombrero and 3,000 shitbucks to spend.

Did Steam already have your ID-info (Social Security # or Tax ID) or whatever they wanted for listing more than 100+ items on the marketplace?

That was the limiting factor for me selling all of my 0.05 and less cards. Didn't want Steam to have my Social just for a couple of Steam cents.
Well, yes and no. I gave them a number. But fat finger typer that I am, I might have accidentally hit an incorrect digit or two.

But as long as I stay below $20,000 in listings a year (which it's safe to assume I will) it'll never become an issue.

The bros played The Secret World last night. I had a lot of fun and reminded me of why I like the game so much to begin with. Might restart with a new char since I'm not that deep into the game as is so I can get the story fresh again.
I meant to join you all for this, but I forgot to install the game. >.>

Not exactly a milestone worth celebrating:

But it does make browsing sales and picking IG scraps from Tremor a bit easier.

I've got 425 on my wish list, and I thought I was a freak.

Well, I guess I probably am a freak. It's just that you're an even bigger freak. Though I agree with it making sales easier. That's probably the biggest upside.

I had well over 1000, but I used it as a "take a look at this later sometime" list rather than a wishlist. I eventually got tired of trying to go through it and wiped it clean.

Do VR games go on sale very often? Wanting to get Audiosurf but if it goes on sale regularly I don't mind to wait.
yea every few months theres usually a vr focused sale, i.e. last time audioshield (i assume you meant audioshield since audiosurf isnt vr) was on sale it was 15$ during the winter sale, but before that in both the thanksgiving and then vr focused sales in july and june.

Yea, it's much easier during sales to load my wishlist and sort the discounted items by highest % off. This combined with activity feeds and discussions on here, r/gamedeals, and SteamGifts works well. I just take a few minutes to exhaust my discovery queue each day.

I'd estimate 80-85% of the games on my wishlist are there to help with navigating bundles. I do find many of these games interesting to try but I generally wouldn't buy them outside of IG/Tremor pricing. The other 15-20% are games I'm more interested to play and would buy in a Humble Bundle or with a decent store discount.

I don't know how sustainable this is, though - I might have to clean the list up eventually. It keeps growing, and my only major incentive for acquiring many of these wishlisted games is the hope of at least breaking even w/ cards.

This thread must have a virus since many of you are also tired of the vicious cycle of +1, idle, sell, repeat. It's nice for awhile to fill your library with games you think you might play in the future. However, it eventually seems a better use of one's time to spend money more wisely on games you definitely will play and ignore the rest of the noise.

Maybe I'm just bitter I missed that Shadow Warrior 2 glitch...

Bros played Nation Red tonight.  A few people mentioned not having it -- it was never bundled (that I know of) but was once $10 and went on some 90% off sale where I think most of us got it.  It's now a mere $1.99 base price so it's not much of an investment either way.

Anyway, between people not having it and nu-Bros missing for whatever reason we just had four of us.  But then the game is up to four players (we would have split up otherwise) so it all worked out.  Wave 27 seemed to be our wall after three or four games.  Weiler hoarded grenades and never used them, Fox was always injured, both Fox & Weiler used Power-Up Hooks because they're jerks and Bah kept yelling keyboard commands at me while I was using a controller.  My thing was to press too hard on my right stick so my dude would randomly yell out "Need medic!" "Health here!" or "Help me!" regardless of the circumstances.  Lots and lots and lots of zombies died.

Tomorrow is Payday 2 which I guess is a 90-bajillion gigabyte download so start using up your monthly data caps now.

Yeah I meant Audioshield, my bad.

Well which would you recommend, Audioshield, Vanishing Realms, or H3VR?

Finally got all my F'ing cards listed on the market. According to the tally given to me on my steam market page (courtesy of steam inventory helper), the value of the cards that I have listed (plus those I've sold since I started listing) is about $250. Which works out to about 5.5 cents per card. I can clearly remember a time when I complained in one of the old steam threads that cards were hardly worth the effort because we could only recoup 25 cents per card. Now I'm selling cards for an average of 5 cents a piece. Oy vey.

For some strange reason, the cards that I have listed at 3 cents seem to be selling quicker than the ones listed at 15-20 cents. Go figure.

Interestingly, I have 17 cards left in my inventory which I can't list on the market. Apparently they can no longer be bought or sold because Valve has severed their business relationship with the devs. Their only value (besides as simple curiosities) is crafting them into Gems. Which I'll probably do sooner or later.
"Not Marketable (750") :(

Those can still be traded tho.

Yes. Not horribly limiting, to be sure, but a bit.

Yeah, it was mostly a convenience thing like only having two hotkey bars, not being able to sprint/get a mount until much later, and very few character slots. Story wise, it's one of the best mmos out there.

About MMO's has anyone suggested Wildstar, or Guild wars?
Guild Wars 2 is fun and you can get the base game cheap (I got it for $10 a couple years ago) plus no sub fee if you don't want to. There is a ton to do in that game though I didn't play it terribly long as I only played with a group friends, very little solo.

I see G2A is on the frontpage of reddit this morning. Looks like some shenanigans happened during an AMA. I have no idea why G2a thought it was a good idea to do an AMA lol

Hilarious that people continue to defend this place. I don't give a shit if people buy from them on any moral basis but people who just continue to believe that they're not shady-ass thieves are just naive beyond belief.

I sell stolen/fake keys on G2A all the time.  Love it...made so much money fucking people over it's hilarious.

ycs

Just a fair warning to the bros, tonight you will likely spend 99% of your time reviving me. It's sort of my thing in Payday.

I buy and sell shit on kinguin which is basically the same thing. I bought a torment tides of numenera key from them, it worked for a month and then the key was revoked. I didn't pay for the "protection" they offer, all I had to do was send a few screen shots and I had a refund. Obviously some keys are stolen, like mine apparently was but I got my money back with pretty easily.

Sucks for devs, good for consumers.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 beta keys are going out. It runs from the 3rd to 5th, but for us Yanks it launches at 5pm EST tonight. It's single player only and is two missions, so its basically a glorified demo.

Looks very much like I'll be playing betas this weekend between this and Wildlands, but if both are shit then I won't.

cant really comment, Ive only played audioshield. Its ok, usual rhythm game fare but I found its generation of levels based on my tracks to be way off. Even on house tracks where the musical elements are spelled out for you it didnt really come up with the levels you would think it would, so so far Ive been unimpressed, not sure where all the hype came from for it

I played one mission, it's it's quite average.

There's heavy frame drops, not FoV slider, I don't think mouse sensitivity slider even works, even max is way too insensitive. Making aiming impossible.

Opening/closing map takes like 10 seconds.

Around 70 fps maxed with GTX 970.

Just impulse bought a 1070 off ebay for $300

giphy.gif
I actually did the same on Newegg around Black Friday, but I ended up cancelling the order. I have a 970 and while I'm going to upgrade it when I do my new build over the next 6-12 months, I'm going to wait til next Black Friday before taking the plunge. The 970 is still serving me well.

I have a 480 I bought from newegg for $200 a few weeks ago I'm going to try and return it so technically this will only cost me $100.

Want a Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Beta Key?

Solve this jigsaw puzzle: https://www.jigidi.com/solve.php?id=AH6CXM0L

If you win it, please say so, so others don't waste their time. When you finish there will be a pop up msg.

I have a few others, so if we're friends on Steam and you're a regular bro and will actually try the thing (it runs from tonight through Sunday), msg me on there if you want one. If the others aren't claimed, I'll drop them or do something like this to get.

Thankyou! I did puzzle for rewards.

Free weekend in Rainbow Six Siege but it comes with a lame sale (50% off).  I know I bought the base game + Year One pass for a bit less than they're selling Base+Y2 pass now.  And none of the DLC is on sale.

They don't seem to be trying very hard.

Remember that one time...

When I bought the Base game for $25. Then I bought the Y2 Pass for $25. Then I bought the Y1 Operators for $20.

Best money I've spent on a game in years.

WORTH IT

What's wrong w/ the 480?

Do you have issues w/ it?

Not getting great performance? What's the story?

How many GB did you get on it, BTW?

4GB or 8GB?

no problem.

Did anyone else's refund from GamePump take for-ev-er to make it back to their balance? This shit has been pending for a calendar week.

They take that money right away, but getting it back is slower than that $5 Lil Cuz borrowed for 8th grade lunch. If you see him, tell that mothafukker he still owes me.
