Because it's physical copy :p
Ah okay didn't realize besides I think Walmart has had it under 5$ as well if I remember

Only the campaign is locked... Not sure why anyone would pay anything for it.
As for the game I have no interest in it heard it's not worth your time let alone a +1 figured for those who actually want to upgrade they could save them self's some cash

Yeah, I picked up some Ms. Marvel trades the other day and God Loves, Human Kills and the Death of Ms. Marvel. I was going to buy even more, but Marvel just added some stuff to Comixology Unlimited and I figure binge reading for 1 month of Marvel Unlimited will be cheaper than buying a ton of trades.
Yeah, I picked up about $50 worth of stuff, but mostly stuff that I had been trade waiting on anyways, and around $6-7 for the collections of various series was too good to pass on. I had considered other stuff, but by that point it just seemed like it'd be cheaper to grab a few months of Comixology Unlimited or Marvel Unlimited.

This is a strange decision.  They should have opened everything up.  Battleborn is a very different game from other MP shooters but a lot of the enjoyment IS from the campaign.  In fact since there is a tiny playerbase of people that have never stopped playing and they just obliterate anybody in PVP, I think this will make people lose interest almost immediately.  I would love to go back and do the campaign stuff but frak the PVP at this point.

Also of note, for anyone who actually plans to buy something during the sale

I JUST GOT +25 fo FREE...Y I BAI NAO???????

I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my graphics card.  EVGA has a few different 980 Ti models on sale for around $200.

The site is locked up now...maybe there's a run on them.  I got my order in, though.  Pretty happy!!

Edit:  Their Twitter says they're sold out.

Just came by to say "RIP Spoder". Humble Bundle biweekly killed him.

El Espoder died in act of service. You will be remembered.

Ok, I'm in the market for a new wireless keyboard and mouse (or at least a keyboard). What do you all suggest? Not looking for anything fancy at all, just needs an ok range with the ability to deal with some interference as it will have to transmit through my tv to the couch which my current one is having issues with. I tried the top rated Logitech on Amazon but the keyboard can't transmit through the tv well enough, keeps ghosting on me. I think it was $20 - $25 or so.
Have you tried using a USB extension cable to place the receiver above your TV?

I used to have a TK820, and it worked fine when the received was plugged into one of the front ports. It broke after a few too many drops, so I replaced it with a K830. Since they used the same receiver, I left the new one in the box. However, I started having a lot of issues with missing keystrokes and lagging. I noticed that pointing the keyboard directly at the receiver fixed the problem, but it wasn't a great way to type. Picked up an extension cable and I taped it to the wall behind the TV so that the received was just above the TV's bezel. Didn't have any problems after that, until I moved to a new place and I was too lazy to tape it up again.

Melee mostly.. it felt like "I hit, then monster hit, then I hit, then monster hit" So mind-numbing that I just quit (the lore and the world were fantastic though)
Yeah, melee just isn't all that exciting. Even after playing an actual ARPG MMO like Tera for awhile, melee starts feeling very stale.

That said, I take it you didn't play that far? As you get further into the game, the difficulty ramps up pretty quickly. You're pretty much screwed if you don't train two weapons and use both in concert (so there are really only some cases where you'd want two different melee weapons). The game also gets pretty frantic and pushes you pretty hard (unless they nerfed the difficulty, which I feel like I read something about), so the frantic combat is pretty action packed for an MMO.

Patience got the better of me. Went ahead and ordered a 1080 locally as I got a decent deal on one from a smaller shop. Due to arrive Friday so it looks like I'll be back for BF1 this week.

I'm still going to be RMAing my 970 once the move is completed and once I get it back I'll look to put it up for sale, if anyone may be interested in that I'll consider CAGs first before going to Ebay or Reddit.

How much did you drop on the 1080?

$400, Newegg price on the model Im getting is $520. Dude owed me a favor as I've brought lots of business to him over the last few years doing audio and video editing workstation builds and I went to him seeing if he had anything laying around that I could buy on the cheap just to hold me over til I get the RMA done, but he didnt have anything and offered to get me one for wholesale and a pizza (yay NYC where you can buy shit with pizza).

Congrats on getting in on that killer deal.
What card are you upgrading from?
I'm coming from a 4GB 670 so it will be quite the upgrade for me. I was locked on just waiting for a 1080 when they eventually hit about $350 (probably B-stock on one of EVGA's Wednesday sales) but this price made me jump.

My system will definitely bottleneck it (i5-2500K) but I can only go one component at a time so I'll upgrade the rest when I can.

I'm pumped though. I just got to the end of Arkham Origins and that last prison area is getting crazy choppy for me so I'm hoping I can finish up the game smoothly. And then next up is Witcher 3.

You can OC that CPU without fear as long as your mobo is halfway decent and you have an aftermarket cooler, but a 980ti's bottleneck with that CPU will not be very significant except with the newest most advanced games and those tend to be better optimized anyway.

Bah speaks the truth. I've got an ancient i5 750 paired with a 970 and I've only run into serious issues with one game (Hitman 2016 and its super dense crowds are a huge CPU hog). Everything else has run flawlessly. Hell, I hear even Witcher 3 is quite light in its CPU usage, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Oh, man - that 6GB 980 Ti would've been a nice upgrade for you.

GTX 770 vs. modern day cards:

My GTX 780 Ti in my desktop is still going strong. I have a gtx 1070 in my laptop and don't notice much of a performance difference.

Agree with both these guys.

My i5-2500K was still going strong with a GTX 1060 till about a week ago, I only upgraded because my mobo developed a boot loop issue.

A 1080 hardly bottlenecks a 2500k...my 2500k OC's to 5.0Ghz on liquid (4.8 on air), but I still upgraded cause I was antsy.

Fox and me played Unloved tonight since I decided to schedule a bronight game that no one owned. I would say it compares closest to Left 4 Dead. There are different levels that the players must clear, and the game allows for certain challenges to be added to the levels such as shotguns only or only clown monsters. The game's atmosphere was pretty dark, which I thought was part of the challenge until an hour and a half later when I figured out I had turned off my flashlight for some reason. The variety of monsters/zombies is decent along with the perks/weapons and the game turned out to be a decent gem. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoyed Left 4 Dead, as it is likely to hit 50% off again for the summer sale.

it should be that close, a 780ti is fairly close in performance to a 970. The 1070 in your laptop is a mobile variant, and only a bit better than a 970. So it all makes sense :). They are all within 10-25% performance of each other

If I am not mistake the 10 series laptop variants are no different, cooling is the only factor that diminishes on average 10-25% slower vs desktop 10 series. But I don't have the sources so I may be wrong.

spoderman is a menace to society. He keeps adding these stupid Crowns when I trade with him, and removes them before we confirm... but thanks to some glitch I still end up with them!

plz fix volvo

why just not play vermintide that 90% of the bros already own?

Is there anything worth buying on GOG? Does anyone keep a running list of games on GOG not on Steam?
Kind of a late response, but a suggestion just occurred to me. First of all, if you haven't already done so, check the list that BellardB posted.

From that list, I would suggest The Sabotuer. It's not on Steam, and likely never will be. Although it is on Origin, and it's been cheep there in the past. So you might already own it there. If not, give that some thought. You could certainly do worse. It's only $3.99 in the US store, or $1.22 if you're cool with using a VPN to buy from the Russian store.

Can't wait, there's been a startling lack of disappointment in my life recently
I envy you.

Got a +17 from connect. Apparently I own too many games on GOG (9 of the ones on offer), so this is a lesson to quit buying stuff there.

Well, following the same reasoning from above, while The Saboteur is a great game, it's also a prime candidate for an On-The-House title, so . . . .

In Reds' defense, I asked him to schedule it because we bought it a few weeks ago and he'd been wanting to play it and this week was empty so I figure why not.

To expound on Reds' post, I'd say L4D isn't the best comparison. It's hard to explain. I think they have like a random level mode, but even the prebuilt levels are random. You choose a map size (small, medium, or large). We played medium. That consists of 10 rooms. You spawn in the first and are able to open wooden doors, but other doors are locked by color coded crests that you need to find. There's a bloodcrest (red), mooncrest (blue), and suncrest (yellow). So you have to find the first crest, that unlocks those rooms, then you find the next crest, and finally you find the last crest which lets you get to the final room where you have to fill up 7 blood machines with your own blood (each fill takes 7 HP from you). Once you do that you can get back to the elevator and escape. There are guns to pick up, health, armor, weapon mods, and collectibles. During all this you get waves of different enemies each with their own behavior.

It was pretty fun and I was happy with the purchase. First level took forever because I was spending most of my time backtracking to revive Reds, tracking down health, armor, guns, etc. for him. Turns out he had turned off his flashlight so he was playing the game in pitch black, which partially explained his poor play. He figured it out midway through the second round. We played on easy and for me that was a pretty good difficulty. I didn't die at all, but there were times I was close and desperately hunting for health and armor.

Thanks for the rec. Pretty sure I have that on Origin from a Tony sale, but I will double check. Thanks to BellardB for the list too. Looked it over and I already have most of what I would need.

Finally got GoG Connect to sync my games. If anyone is still having trouble just fill out the contact form and include a screenshot of your gog connect page and a link to your public steam profile (steamcommunity .com/id/whatever). They got back to me overnight but it was ready to go once they did.

+18 for me.

AMD Vega GPUs will be released at the end of July.  Not sure what the pricing, performance or availability will be.  Seems the Ryzen 1600X is the go to CPU for a gaming rig (Price/Performance) right now and the 470 and 480 the go to GPUs.  Curious to see where the Vegas will fall and, more importantly for a cheapass like me, where they might be price-wise in two years.

For those FFXIV mmo fans, Stormblood is launching for early access next for both PC and PS4
