I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

Thus endeth my wall of rant text.
I mean, let's be honest, the main concern here is really only a concern for us hoarders. We want our 1000s of games in our library to be there forever so we can stare at them every day and maybe 10 years from now play one of them when we decide to actually play something. It's a very unique concern that I don't think is shared by 99% of the consumer population.

Most people buy something, play it, and are done with it. EGS is set up fine for that and for the consumer it appeals to. If a kid buys a game on EGS today, plays it, finishes, or moves on to something else (in cases of MP games). They won't be complaining about it 5 years from now if the EGS store shuts down completely. They would have moved on by then.

Monster Train may be the next best thing after Slay the Spire but Slay the Spire is several tiers above it. At least in my opinion.
Yeah that's my concern. StS was/is amazing for me. My favorite indie game ever. The only thing rouge-ish I've really enjoyed. The only card game I keep coming back to. Also paid $3 for it.

Just worried about buying in at $20 and everything feeling inferior to StS. And then I'll end up.. playing StS.

The way this is going, might not be hard to worry about getting old games to work or finding them.

Every game will get re-released digitally (probably on GOG); a newer HD Remastered Version (on Steam, EGS, etc); A Definitive Edition; and/or a full-blown Modern-Remake like RE2 and FF7.

Anyone have any recommendations for stuff to snag with the $10 off $15 on the epic games store. Was looking at grabbing Divinity 2 or Disco Elysium but both aren't on there so I'm open to suggestions.

Finally played a round of Monster Train today. Its good. Damn good. Almost as good as StS.

On the Epic sale, for city builder's there is Surviving the Aftermath. I picked up the card game Griftlands too but haven't tried it yet.

PoopySoft games like AssCreed or FarCry for $5-ish dollar after coupon sound good to me.

I would have recommended Witcher 3 GOTY, But the sneaky Poles/Sweeney reduced the $15 price tag by a few coppers so you can no longer apply the coupon for that. Been playing it on Xboner Game Ass for a bit now. First Witcher game I could actually get into that wasn't janky.

Fanatical's Bundle Fest starts tomorrow.

Free pizza with a PH promo that will likely expire soon

And by free pizza I don't mean necessarily good pizza.
The Pizza Hut near me permanently closed a few months ago.

The Steam workshop is loaded with mods so it is much better to have it on there than any other platform.

Guys I just started playing Slay the Spire over the weekend and I keep getting to level 50 and then dying so now I feel like a fragile millennial, please help!

Hello all.  I don't know if you all remember me but I came to this thread a few years back when I switched from Xbox to PC.  I wasn't really into building a PC yet so I came for some advice on a good pre-built system in which some of you suggested the DELL XPS with a GTX 1080 and an I7-8700 which was on sale at the time.  The machine served me well.  On it, I've played The Witcher 2 and 3, Doom (2016), and some of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.  I also subscribed to Humble Bundle, used isthereanydeal.com and took advantaged of all the dirt cheap prices for PC games on a number of different on-line stores.

Last year I decided to take the dive and build my own PC which I'm really proud of.  I still game on my PS4 from time to time but most of my gaming is on PC and I'm close to completing my previous collection of Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One Games to PC.  I still miss a play through of Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Red Dead Redemption but I may pick up an Xbox One when the price inevitably goes down after Series X arrives.

Anyways, since this whole COVID-19 era is here, I've had time to organize damn near 2 years of games from Humble Bundle that I did not redeem.  Out of them all, here's a list I wanted to share to this thread as a way to give back to the forum that helped me get into PC gaming:

The first few times I reached the 3rd boss, I always got the Awakened One (bird) and was consequently destroyed. Turns out, the 3rd boss is random. You can tell which it is by the artwork at the top of the map once you reach the 3rd area, so you do have some time to prepare. Each one serves as a hard counter to a certain kind of build and playstyle. For me Deca & Donu is by far the easiest.

There’s currently a summer sale going on at gog.com. Been looking to replay MDK and MDK2 and almost bought them for $10 each last week. Glad I waited, they are under $4 each in the sale. Didn’t really look at much else to see what standouts there are though

Samurai Shodown collection to be free on EGS from June 11th to 18th

[snip]
Samurai Showdown II and some other Neo-Geo games are currently available free on a certain other platform that probably everyone on this board already pays for, yet never talks about, despite having easily the best monthly game offerings of any platform.

The Samurai Showdown games are free on your mom?

This post makes me twitch

Had been playing Stardew Valley the past few weeks, just stopped last night and am playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Anyway, Stardew Valley is pretty decent, you just maintain a farm obviously, but there are a ton of different goals and incentives to keep you playing. There are different areas of the map that open up only after you accomplish certain things, and your character becomes more proficient in different skills the more you use them. The longer you play you get access to better equipment and can upgrade your farm, and there are multiple mines you can enter and...mine...and fight enemies to get new materials and gems and such.

Anyway it's a decent game, kinda strange in a sense where it feels like you're doing the same thing each day but it feels fresh anyway, not necessarily my preferred genre of game, and something i don't necessarily is there's no real endpoint. After like 70 hours i had gotten through the first 2.5 years and said enough's enough because given some of the tasks at hand i easily could've probably poured another 30-40 hours in. But I think i give it like an 8/10, worth playing for sure imo

Haven't played TGC 2 and won't bother after reading the reviews, but I did spend a good chunk of May playing TGC 2019 and that game is legitimately fun. It's become my go-to relaxation game even if putting still absolutely stresses me out after all these hours. It was in that 2K Bundle last month so it's worth picking up if you can find it for a few bucks.

That SamSho announcement is pretty cool. They're old games, but there's a brand new release of 5 included; it's actually going to be free on epic before it's available anywhere else.

Twitch prime used to give out some pretty high quality stuff, but Epic and Game Pass blow them away now IMO.

Anyone having trouble getting their payment to go through? Wondering if I can buy the Civ 6 expansions and use the $10 off coupon but nothing is going through.
