This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

I feel like I said this....hmmm

But yea, idk which one to buy.
admittedly I didn't look through the thread, but I noticed it wasn't in the OP even though re;birth 1 was, so I thought I'd mention it

Hopefully the keyboard/mouse controls for re;birth 2 are better than 1

Idk why steam does that crap...like they should list Rebirth 2...not even 1 as the daily deal since it's "newer"

And this gave me a techrection...

hololens still looks interesting, but until they show how it works with something besides minecraft Im not sold yet. Show me taking video windows from a networked pc and blowing them up to 100+in screens in my FOV, playing some other games, etc. Tons of possibilities but Im worried its going to end up a locked down pos that only runs 'holo' apps on its internal processor

Edited for clarity...

Savage Lands is tempting me but I'm not sure how much of that is just bad sale fatigue.

If a couple regs wanted to 4-pack it ($7.50 each), I'd be in.
I'd almost be tempted to host one of these just to convert some of the Steam wallet I just bought back to useful money. That's how lackluster the sale has been for me.

But a big part of me is getting a bit worn out on these survival, no point type games. They tend to fall into two categories:

1. Crappy, unfinished basic messes that might be good for one night of co-op play just for the hell of it.

2. Really well done and deep games that require a lot of time sink to master/enjoy (sort of like MMOs).

The problem with #2 is that sometimes you just get tired of the pointlessness of it all and wonder why you just spent hours of your life trying to build a house and running scared of every bump in the night.

Reign of Kings sounds somewhat promising until I saw it was made by the Starforge devs (never again) and it has a griefing problem.

Savage Lands does look cool and at least is a bit different.

From today's games, Project Zomboid gets a big recommend from me. I bought it on Desura before Greenlight was even a thing and I played it back then when they were still working on it. Plenty of bumps along the road, but the version out today is 1000s of times better than what they used to have and the devs are really dedicated to finishing the game and doing it write.

I've played very little of Long Dark since I fakey russian broed it for the same price it is now. It was fun. It was cold. I slept in an abandoned camp over night to shield me from the cold, looted, and then headed out in the morning to be murdered by a wolf not 2 feet from the camp, so yes, your usual survival stuff.

My suggestion? Find 1 survival game that has really good reviews/really appeals to you and dedicate yourself to it. Whether it be zombies, dinos, the cold, aliens, etc.

I don't take my own suggestions though. Deathtrap looks great, but can't help but remember it was close to the current price before after coupons and stuff.

For those of you talking about Wildstar, the bonuses you were linking to were just the special subscriber stuff.  You still get bonuses for having a code (digital or box copy) that was purchased before the game goes free to play in fall.  You get 12 character slots, free players will only have 2.  5 Bank tabs vs 2 for the new free players.  6 costume slots vs 4 for free players and you can put 2000 decor items in your house while free players will be limited to 1000.

So you don't have to keep an active subscription until the game goes F2P? You can register a key and that'll be enough?

Dead Rising 3 not cheap enough.  Savage Lands has only about two hours of content in it so far per reading the forums.  It'll be discounted multiple times and probably hit $5 or less before it's anywhere near completion.

i am excited for Star Wars The Old Republic Knights Of The Fallen Empire. hope it is as good as star wars force unleashed, nvm, it is for that crap mmo for star wars

Also what's up with these feature deals not being feature deals at all?  A few of them simply have the same price they had all sale.  Shadowrun games, Long Dark, and Project Zomboid discounts are the same they've been since the start.  This really is the worst Steam sale ever.

More disappointing so far: E3 or Summer Sale?

At first I thought it was just a glitch and the prices didn't rollover or whatever but someone on the Shadowrun forums said they contacted the developer and, indeed, there isn't meant to be a further discount.  How is that a daily deal?!?!

Valve has taught them well. Also dissapointing that there is no further discount on Dead Rising 2 and OTR. They used to regularly go on sale at 75 percent off before, when Capcom wasn't allergic to discounts.

So I -have- to get an account today to get grandfathered in.
I think that still only applies to the subscriber items you get for being subscribed up until F2P launch, the cosmetic stuff. I think you just need to use the code before it actually goes free to play, at least that is how a few posts to the official forums were worded. That being said, they also initially stated that this code will give current subscribers 30 days of game time and then after the bundle had been up for hours they said that was a mistake and it was literally the standard edition they sell for 20 bucks on their website and is only for new players. So the right hand does not seem to know what the left hand is doing at Carbine. The codes expire December 31, 2015 so it might even be that you could get the bonuses up to that date.

Looking at my Activity feed on Steam I thought I'd missed some kinda glitch on Hyperdimension WhatsitsNamia.

Then I realised ...

Maybe you're the idiot? Because in 5 years someone is going to ask "Is Hypermentuintdiemnsbntuioutui DLC worth it at 50% off?" and then everyone is going to say "YOU IDIOT YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT WHEN IT WAS 71% OFF BACK IN SUMMER SALE 2015 WHERE WERE YOU WHY YOU NOT BUY IT fuckING IDIOT!" and then MysterD will say "I WISH AMAZON HAD IT FOR 71% OFF BECAUSE I HAVE BINGBUX AND BECAUSE I WILL NEVER PAY MORE THAN THE LOWEST GLITCH PRICE FOR AN ITEM."

Where was the glitch on a time machine?
