About to pull the trigger on some weeaboo shit. Maybe Evil Within. I think I actually prefer knowing this is as good as it will get and not having to sweat whether something will pop up in some 4 hour special while I'm at work.

I got a shit ton more Disney games than I had before, them things never go 75% off until now, so I'm happy.
I'm interested in a couple of those Disney published games and the price is not bad, but they have SecuRom. I don't want to sound like MysterD, but SecuRom???? I'll have to crack it to get it to run in Windows 10.

Is fallout 1 or 2 better?
I've beaten FO1, but only played the intro to 2, but people generally say 2 is the better game I think. They're pretty much the same as far as gameplay goes though. If you like turn based games and crpgs I'd just go ahead and buy them both. 2.50 for each is a fair price...although I got FO1/2/tactics for 3 bucks in a glitch, so let that sink in

Well, at least GTA V is actually legit on sale this time, instead of that garbage they pulled last time with the bundle. (even though it is a crappy 40 percent)
I was hoping it'd go to (under) $29.99 but I'm tempted to buy now; does anyone see this going cheaper in the Winter sale??

In other news, fuck Gamestop.

Remember how they messed up an order of mine a while back and they sent me a bunch of damaged PC games, including one that was disc only, and they gave me a $10 voucher for the online store?  They said it wouldn't work on digital games... but I figured, eff it, and I tried it and it worked.

And then they blocked my payment methods because one of the games was by Deep Silver and they probably IP locked the payment method, similarly to Nuuvem.

So I figured it wouldn't help hurt to ask a buddy who lives in Seattle for help, and he used my coupon and got me the games: Saints Row IV Game of the Century and Hell Yeah Wrath of the Rabbit Complete for like a buck... and he covered the buck since I've helped him a lot over the years.

In conclusion, I'm glad I don't have to deal with Gamestop anymore.

So if I have a key for a DLC-included or deluxe (or whatever) version of a game that I already own vanilla in my library, I'm assuming activating that key on Steam will just override the version of the game I already have (unless for some reason they're considered separate entities in the Steam database, in which case I'll get both), right?

In most cases, yes, it'll let you activate and give you the extra DLC

If I ever get it, it will probably be for PS3, it's already $20 for PS3 at Gamestop.

So the real story here is you still don't have a headset?

if you're not being sarcastic please buy it and post a review on cag for my amusement
I might have to. It's a fairly unimpressive sale and looks like I was wrong about Fallout 4 getting a Black Friday discount. Still debating Dead Rising 3 for $15, though. If it wasn't such a shit port I'd have probably gotten it already.

Also Blizzard has reduced the base price of D3 expansion to $20 on their website so maybe it and vanilla both get 50% discounts for $20 total.

Wolfenstein: TNO and Evil Within at 85% off is a sure sign that the Bethesda Humble is not far away.

This steam sale is great.  It's making me look seriously at the BundleStars Mad Max sale.  Although it'll just sit in my backlog, so I'll probably wait.

But I may well dive into Ark.

Edit: Sorry, forgot the yellow font...

It's the holidays and I'm in a giving mood. Who wants a copy of Half-Life 2, HL EP 1, or Portal 2?
If so add me on steam, my name is the same as it is on here. First come first serve.

And no, you can't request all three. So pick one when you message me.

EDIT: HL2 is taken. The others are still available as of 10:35 CST.

EDIT 2: All is gone but feel free to add me anyways if you'd like. :)

Damn, not seeing anything that I want that isn't in the "already in library" category.  Do we have any consensus on the highlights?  I don't need Disney Princess games.. ;)

Alright. Was pretty sure I'd heard that before, just wanted to double check before I did anything potentially stupid.

In the immediate sense, I mean. I have no illusions about my future stupidities.

Going through the store and noticing a lot of stuff isn't on sale.  Batman Arkham Knight (lolz) or any of the other Batman games it seems, the Two Worlds stuff, Zombi (75% off or bust), etc.

Fake real-time edit:  Tons of stuff around the $20 and $10 price point that normally get discounts without any.  Either Valve does a horrible job of communicating or the developer/publishers decided to skip the Fall sale.

Decent deals I found:

Grimrock 2 is $4.79 (making that Humble monthly deal even worse)

Defense Grid 2 is $3.74

Arx Fatalis $1.24

There have been a lot of posts from Steam devs not receiving email reminders about upcoming sales. That probably contributed a lot.

In for Transformers Devastation, the first Transformers shootan game, Endless Legend, and Endless Dungeon. Both the latter classify as hell why not buys.

Refunded and rebought Strania at the cheaper price.

Time for a dumbass newbie question....

I don't remember an Autumn sale last year but maybe CAGs that have been Steam members for awhile can help... Is there still going to be a Winter Sale? I figure that anything that has seen a discount so far will be matched at the winter sale and that I should hold out.

Yes, although from the leaked info the Winter Sale is going to be the same as the Autumn Sale.  There has been some form of Autumn sale for at least four or five years now.  Some games that have pretty tepid 50% discounts might see bigger reductions then but the way Steam has been going the last few years I wouldn't hold my breath.

Since I'm thinking the Autumn sale doesn't replace the "big" winter sale I'm perfectly happy waiting to see if most of the games I want will at least match the same discount I'm seeing.... and it might be better to wait to pull the trigger on some of these games.

I paid $10 Putin for it at launch.  If you really liked Dead Island you'll like Dying Light -- it's Dead Island with parkour.  I got bored around half way through but still managed to finish.  The 'boss encounters' are pretty terrible and the zombies cease being any real threat once you level up a bit.

Yeah it seems like Valve just posts to the developer group and then doesn't bother with follow-up e-mails.
In this case, they actually did attempt to send emails. But something went wrong with their email system since there were at least 30 or so devs in a single thread mentioning not seeing the Autumn/Holiday sale email.

Valve Employee- ConnorM: The emails should have only gone to accounts that have the "Manage Pricing/Discounts" permission. Looks like some of you may have multiple accounts, but others should have still gotten the email. Did any of you receive the Halloween Sale email?

I'm considering either a Creative Draco HS880 ($49.97), a Creative Labs Tactic3D Fury ($39.49) or the Fatal1ty Gaming Headset ($21.99). The other options I saw were USB-only.
So it sounds like you need one with audio jacks and not a USB connection? I would look into the Sennheiser headsets too, from my experience they make quality products. Also look into plantronics. Mine allow me to connect either USB or with audio jack.

will my weapons break in 2 hits like stupid dead island?

Weapon durability is low at the start but there are talents you can take to improve it. It's not something I noticed in a detrimental sense. If anything I found the weapons lacking compared to Dead Island. I almost want to say Dead Island is the better game...

There are things in Dying Light that would have been great if they were fleshed out like supply drops/scarcity, etc. But after the first couple of times you'll end up ignoring them.

ya'll know moober is serious when he actually quotes what he's responding to.

Dying Light is great fun. It's a less clunky (but still clunky) Dead Island with an immensely entertaining verticality to the entire experience that keeps everything amusing for far longer than its predecessor did.

Is it worth it for $20? I feel like I should jump in on this game at this price but I probably won't play it for a few months regardless.

You guys made me buy Disney Mega Pack 1/2, Cyan Complete Pack, and the Lucasarts Adventure Bundle. And I broke 3500 games. Hope you're happy.
