Hey anybody from México that can send me a gift ?

There's only about three or four games I'm targeting for Steam sale, Watch_Dongs being one of them.  I can't see it going lower than 66% off.  Certainly not below $10.  And, yeah, I already have U-Play installed.  Free Prime shipping!

But what if it's in the next Humble U-Play Bundle?!?!

Yeah, I was looking at that one. I saw the 510 isn't made anymore. The main difference I see between the 310 and 710 is the wireless? That's not a big deal since I sit at the computer when I game.
F310 doesn't have rumble either but you probably figure that out already. I'm not a huge fan of the should buttons on these but it seems high quality and it is nice have D and X all in one.

Another nice thing, it works fine in the first top down Tomb Raider shooter. My Afterglow and Rock Candy had that down left problem.

If the EA Humbles are anything to go by it was over a year and half between 1 and 2. And if it shows up in an Ubisoft Humble 2, which probably won't be soon, it will be a Uplay key and most likely not in the cheap tier.

Either because the additional options weren't tested and could negatively affect performance or because Ubi crippled the PC version so console users wouldn't get mad. Depending on which far end of the spectrum you want to believe in.
I want to believe both that are true!

That both Ubi couldn't get PC version properly (thanks to lack of optimization on PC-side + huge open game-world); and then decided to go w/ parity w/ both PC + console versions.

BTW, when's Watch Dogs: Remastered Edition PC coming...? ;)

FTFY

I don't think you need to cross out what I said.

That train of thought about Ubi thinking piracy is a major PC issue surely also another factor to go right along w/ lack of optimization on PC side + the game having a big huge open-world.

Surely, the game's gonna run better if it was made a bit more modular (like say NWN) or brake-up into sections for more load-times (even like Dragon Age: Inquisition does, even if the maps there are still HUGE) would + should keep performance issues down a bit.

Of course, Ubi probably also probably thinks, "Just go make PC gamers go buy a nicer + newer video-card." I'm sure AMD + NVidia don't mind that kind of philosophy.

Bought Watch_Derps. I have forsaken GabeN.
It just takes too damned long for Ubi games to go cheap on Steam. They deliberately have shit sales on Steam and are painfully slow to discount there. Like AC Rogue was on sale a few days back at Steam and Amazon at the same time but Amazon had it 75% off while Steam had 35% off.

Since Tony left Amazon PCDD there's no alternate source for getting Ubi games on Steam. And meanwhile there's deals a plenty on Uplay keys between those video card pack ins and boxed retail clearance and apparently even Humble bundles now.

It's easier and cheaper to just surrender to Uplay (exclusively; you'll get stuck with it either way anyhow).

Hmmm - I wonder what kind of cut Steam takes from Ubi games - probably their standard 30%, right?

I wonder what kind of cut Ubi + Amazon get from UPLAY-only keys.

I also wonder what would happen to nice UPLAY game sales on Amazon, if say Amazon one day decided to have their own games + their own PC game-client like that of UPLAY + Steam.

Daily Deals
33% off Eastside Hockey Manager - $10.04
If it weren't close to a sale, I'd be pretty tempted. For those (I'll guess everyone) who doesn't know, it's the reboot of the old EHM series of games. Forget the years now but their was 2005 and 2007, before Sports Interactive killed it because of "piracy". It's not at the level of FM but with hockey (at least the 07 version, even compared to FM 08 (first I played)), but it was a pretty decent hockey sport sim.

The bits I've read about the EA edition, it sounds like it's pretty similar to 2007 but with a new coat of paint and some (much nedded) adjustments to the AI trade logic (which could be pretty bad in 2007). You can do some coaching in it, like with FM, though I think it's still the old 2D version, and I almost never coach in 2007 so not sure what options there are.

Anyways for 2007 that works, forgot to mention but I guess the 2007 licensing stuff got broke iirc so it doesn't really work, $10 is a pretty decent price. Haven't read up on how much they plan to change and fix and so forth, but seems people enjoying the EA version so far.

Good place to read up on EHM, if anyone is semi-curious, I still think is http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/ . Used to, and still do, go there to read up information on the old version.

Oh lastly, if you wanted to try EHM without spending $10, I think you can still find 2005 which is the freeware edition. Think 2007 changed quite a bit from 2005, but never played 2005 or looked at it much so I'm not positive on that.

That's a great price on Watch Dogs. I found it to be a dissapointing game and everything felt clunky and lacked polish, including the physics. One time, I was chasing a random criminal who was in a car while I was in my car, and stopping the guy took me from the country outskirts area right into the city, all because I couldn't shoot guns while in a vehicle. The lack of a jump button is frustrating too. All in all, it lacks the verticality of other open world series including GTA, Saints Row, and Just Cause. Not to mention the poor optimization and lack of real time reflections. It does look much better at night than during the day, however.

I'd laugh, but it looks a hell of a lot better than I could do. Granted, I can barely figure out how to turn on my computer, let alone program anything. But still...

The thing that pisses me off is that he got one of those developer badges out of that.

that is what amazon is probably going to do in the future, if their digital gaming sales is actually profitable.

depends on what the game charges, if it is less than $10. that is fine.

but if the game charges $20 +, then hell no

i wouldn't even install it , if some1 give me the game code for free.

i have played better f2p games than that.

My favorite memory of Idiot is him winning some special swag from an EA rep in appreciation of his promoting/advocating the Secret World on the Amazon thread. He then thanked the EA rep by posting a gif of the EA logo transforming into a swastika.

What a fucking idiot.

has Secret World being shut down yet?

It's still going. For now.

They sent me an email recently that was like Come Back to The Secret World and get a motorcycle and I was like Cool. And then I went to the page and found out it was $20 and was like fuck that!

So let's say I wanna play something like Final Fantasy Tactics? What would that be Steam-wise?
Agarest? It's kind of waifu grindy though.

Hmm, I don't know. There's got to be something better. Hell if we wait long enough Square will probably rehash the actual Final Fantasy Tactics for Steam.

Hmm, found an article from October last year 9 PC Games Like Final Fantasy Tactics

http://hubpages.com/hub/10-Games-Like-Final-Fantasy-Tactics-for-PC

Most of them aren't really weeaboo though. And Trails is and is quite good but I'd say calling it FF Tactics-ish is a bit of a stretch. Maybe FF Tactics lite. *shrug*

Actually Valkyria Chronicles is probably closer. Or if you want to go really retro then Shining Force I and II.
Thanks for this! Out of the list, I most liked the look of Trails in the Sky. I think I'll aim for that when I feel FFT-ish.

It's more FF and rather lite on the Tactics part but it's quite good if you're in the mood for a JRPG on Steam. It's one of the few Steam games I own that I've actually played and would recommend. :p

I'm actually about 50 hours into my copy of FFT on DS. It's just gotta really grindy, and I have to do loads of quests to grind. I also don't like some of the late classes I've opened, which makes the game less fun. I'm considering trading the game off and getting something else. I've heard FFT takes like 80 hours to beat, for sure.
