This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

Be aware, as most of you know already, some games have been already increased their MSRP, just a couple of days before the summer sale starts.

It's not very accurated, but you can see for example the increase on War Thunder DLCs. It is expected also an increase  on the price of Dayz before or just when sale starts.

Gamersgate annoys everyone.  Damn revoking glitch keys bastards.

Raptr just sent me an email saying that Clicker Heroes was the most popular game among my friends.  It then suggested that I make new friends.

You won't get past level 140 so don't even try (unless it's rewards a hero soul, in which case go for it by using ALL your cooldowns).

Spend your gold levelling your heroes as high as possible, as every 2000 hero levels gives you an extra hero soul when you ascend. You should be looking at +8-10 hero souls when you first ascend.

For now, just kill shit and level up. Don't worry too much about individual DPS, it's largely irrelevant at this stage.

Could be. I had a friend who was all jazzed up about it way back in the day. Didn't they give out free games or something? Except then they'd have like 25 copies of some game with 15,000 people flooding them for it. Anyway, I haven't touched the client or site in ages but they still send me the weekly report.

Gamersgate lately hasn't even had a glitch that they'd just revoke a few days later anyway that's been worth reporting. I got nothin. Their sales are sad. They're not Steam. They're not GOG. They're not Desura, which in that case is a good thing.

I'm not really sure what they're trying to be or who their clientele is. They claim the US is their biggest market but who the hell is buying from them?

 
I burned some old BC's buying the FC3 deluxe upgrade a week or two ago.  That probably put me on their sales map.

I suppose they meet the needs of people wanting low-rent simulation games?

I've wondered the same thing about GetGamesGo.  Their sales all suck and they don't seem to have any unique niche... how do they stay in business?  Is there someone out there who has GGG bookmarked but not Steam or GMG?

While everyone is waiting for the upcoming Steam sale, may I suggest we KEEP bumping the G2A thread to suck the remaining life out of Cheapy? For Science. I'm curious the see someone "literally" become a shell of himself. (or at least hear it in the next cheapy podcast)

The only game I'm hoping for this sale is Lego Worlds.  I normally wouldn't expect a discount so soon but it is on the franchise page, so it gives me some hope.  If I'm gonna fakeybro that then at least throw me a bone for 10% off.  Everything else is gonna be icing on the backlog.

 
Still bugs mes that Lego Jurassic Park isn't on Steam's page... it's causing a neurosis in my head because it's making me second guess if it's coming to PC even though it's been advertised.  I blame Steam and the review embargo.\

Metacritic doesn't show it as PC coming soon.

You'll see a decent deal on it, of that we can be certain. Just be warned that, as Motoki says, it's inundated with DLC. If you're just curious about it, it could be better value to wait for a "complete" pack (or whatever GOTY/Gold/Universe/Pineapple moniker they give the Tropico series).
 
Prediction:  Steam Time Machine Sale!  Sale prices like back in the day - you know, when the sales used to be good.  Mystery cards each represent a specific prior Steam sale and can be redeemed for better sale prices.

Are you really putting Bundlestars in the same group as G2A? BS is an authorized partner of WB, and frequently gets the best deals on their games. If you're really unfamiliar with the site, ask any of the regulars about it or just look in Neuro's Bundle Stars thread.

As for when we'll see Lego Jurassic World on Steam's front page, I imagine it will be a daily deal either today or tomorrow to coincide with the launch of the film. It will unlock for everybody on Friday at 10AM Pacific time.

I envy those people who are about to experience their first Steam sale.  You can't reclaim that initial excitement that comes from not knowing what's coming next. (as with almost any new experience in life)

I'm actually a bit depressed about this sale.  So many of the games I'm really interested in have MSRP of 39.99 to 59.99.  (GTA 5, DBZ Xenoverse, Watch Dogs, etc)   So, even 75 percent off of them would still be 10 to 15 bucks.  :(  I expect to fill up on older, cheaper,  and/or smaller indie game deals this year.

I'm hoping to get some +50% off visual novels for the most part. I hope we get new AAA sales even if it's 33%+ off. I just hope there is new blood in the sales. I'm getting sick of seeing the same 80%+ off games like Just Cause 2.

Just Cause 2 and GTA IV always drive me nuts. They somehow always manage to be a daily despite being so old. Of course now that GTA V is out that will be featured for the next five or six years or whatever in every sale until GTA VI.

I will personally hold out for the deals at 75%+ off AFTER the next iteration is announced just to be sure the complete/goty/gold etc. version is really complete. Or heck, just hold out for it to be bundled.

Just too many damn DLC-spam-gorging now - you know you will feel like shit when they take away/nerf a game feature and resell it back in a DLC (i.e. EU4 or The Sims!)

After all, it's not like there aren't hundreds of other games to go thru. Your backlog is your friend! :whistle2:
