This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

Most of the regulars have premium, if someone shows up that doesn't we don't play the DLC map rotations. Its worth getting if its in your price range. There's still a bunch more to come for it too.

 
Rock on with buying BF1 but all y'all bitches don't need to drop three Hamiltons to play with us, ya know.  You can also drop a dollar on a Humble Bundle or or some IG bundle and play with us.  Plus, after a night or two of hearing Bah rage, you might decide that he's a first class dong-wrestler and want to avoid him  :whistle2:

Bah definitely is a first class dong wrestler, but he learned that from his mom so I don't hold it against him.

Also, Gamestop has the Blue Yeti Blackout bundle with Watch Dongs 2 on sale for $89.99 again, just in case Keeper is still looking for a mic.

This. Soo much this. I could go on and on about all the horror stories that the old Marvel Heroes client had before they went to Steam (and also upgraded to a better client).

Anyhow considering at one time there was a rumor than Activision was thinking of trying to push their own digital client I think this is a win. I know thats kind of what's going on here but we all know Blizzard isn't going to be all hot to trot to turn the new battle.net into a free for all platform, or even a platform for all of Activision's products.

 
So with Origin Access 10% off, BF1 Premium comes out to like... $58.50. Tempting, but ugh. Didn't someone mention there's a way to get a free trial of Origin Access? I guess even buying a month of it would still knock $1.50 off of the total price, but yeah.

 
If you haven't previously used the trial or had Access, it should offer you a one week trial.

It looks as though they might be limiting the trials now to select time periods?  That's dumb.  Or maybe they always have but I never noticed, which is still dumb.  What I'm saying it not letting people have their trial is dumb.

Yeah, I've never done a trial or used it and nothing comes up. Lame.

 
New egg has mortal kombat xl for 9.95  

PCDD    I would double check because there were a lot of issues with the pc version.   So much so I bought the xb1 xl version. 

 
They lowered the price on Origin access to 30$ Not too long ago. I think it was 60$ previously which I though was dumb because EA access on Xbox one was always $30.

Yes, i'm a Access subscriber. Actually switched up to the yearly plan since i'm regularly buying Sims 4 crap.

BF1 Ultimate is $62.51 after taxes for me, and that's not counting any paypal fees. Still, if anyone is interested, send me a message.

If you're worried about multiplayer, avoid the PC port. As with every NetherRealm port to date, the MP is broken. If not, $10 is a great buy for a great fighting game.

 
At a minimum get the standard BF1.  We had like 8-9 bros last friday.  Much to Spoder's chagrin we have been playing on fridays for a few months.  We play again tonight

We get 2 full squads BAH might actually stay and play more than 90 minutes.  Im beginning to think he turns back into a pumpkin at midnight.

Does the Premium Pass go on sale by itself? It doesn't look like the Deluxe Edition shit has much of a point, and buying the Ultimate Edition basically is like I'm paying more for the Deluxe stuff, so I guess it's basically like paying $35 for the Premium Pass, which is only like 30% off. Not all that tempting.

It hasn't gotten an official sale yet or if it has (I dont think so but not 100% sure) it was not anything special in terms of discount. A lot of us picked it up when it was accidentally marked 50% down back in November on Amazon when only the base was supposed to be discounted, but not all who have it did get it that way (me and Syntax got it outside of that). You can also try third party via a trader or something. Going by the BF4 sales schedule, its due for a markdown sometime next month near when the next map pack is due to launch. It may not though, we can only guess.

Its not really a need just yet. The base maps are plentiful and we regularly play just those if anyone doesn't have them that joins us i.e. we regularly play 2-3 hour sessions and we never get through all of them in one night. On top of that, occasionally they do "Premium Friends" events, which allows friends of premium members to play the DLC maps as long as you're in a group with one of em.

I'd suggest deluxe if you can do it, but base alone is not a hindrance and I would say really won't be until after the 2nd and 3rd (I think Sept-Oct for the 3rd) map pack. More are playing the base maps than the DLC maps still.

I assume you mean "Premium" and not "Deluxe". I only mention it because there is a "Deluxe" and it's not worth buying (you just get some extra skins and a couple mainly worthless guns*; no maps or premium DLC content).

*I only ever see one Deluxe edition gun used, the Lawrence of Arabia SMLE, and that's still uncommon

The premium pass probably wont get a sale until near the last DLC pack. Thats how they did it with BF4 as well, the usual screw the customers with dlc policy unless they bought an ultimate edition that they are willing to put on sale. Only real hope is for a third party site or a glitch somewhere for premium by itself. Thats why Id suggest just buying ultimate since your getting a good discount on both the base and premium pass at the same time, and a discount thats hard to get otherwise

Yeah, I almost backed it but I haven't been doing that anymore as its almost always cheaper in some other manner...

BF1 sale or Origin. They have that deluxe bundle with TitanFall 2 for $59.99... Which just seems like a deal and a half expect no season pass on sale.

From what Ive read on various sites its super duper meh. The narco road expansion missions take place on a completely separate map with separate weapons and a completely different character. Not sure if thats also true for the latest, or upcoming I cant keep track, expansion, but it was for narco. Also the reviews on narco are mostly negative, its a vehicle focused DLC for a game with utterly horrible vehicle controls. Its also not really ghost recon at all, its basically shoving gta/saints row into what is supposed to be a stealth game

I would say it's more a case of todays games being generic than Phantom Dust being weird, but it's weird in a good way if you wanna call it that. PD is one of a kind even when compared to anything released up until now. Really good game with great atmosphere and soundtrack, and does the post-apocalyptic theme right. The amazing thing about it is it released at $20 MSRP lol

I went ahead and got a month of origin access and then BF1 ultimate edition which saved me a few dollars. Plus I'll finally be able to play mirrors edge catalyst. I won't be on tonight for BF1 but I'll be on during the week and hopefully next Friday night.

I think the average Joe will tire of the gameplay loop well before getting through the main game. I have about 30ish hours playing coop with a friend and we've cleared about half the areas.

Would be an insane deal if WD2 + Yeti-mic was say $50. ;)

Anyways, does anyone here have one of those Yeti Blackout condenser mics? Are they any good?

Not in the new MK XL version, for Single Player offline play. After the fiasco, High Voltage was thrown off the game (thanks for another horrible WB port, out-the-gate!) + it was handed over to QLOC to fix it up - and boy, did they ever!

One of the few games I can run at 50-60FPS at 4K here on PC, in single-player mode on my rig, since it ain't got much really happening on-screen + in the background.

My PC = i7 950; 16 GB RAM; W7 64-bit; 3.5 GB 970.

Can't speak on MP, though.

Not to derail this engaging dialog, but what's the hotness in HDDs now. The last drive I bought was a WD Black 3 TB over 2 years ago. It's full of games now, so I needs mo. Needs it.
