the last guardian was hyped for the ps3. Got cancelled on that generation. I still remember an Asian girl working at Gamestop hyping that game to get me to purchase the PS3.

That and Final Fantasy Versus
Also, not exactly a cancellation, but I wonder how many people bought a PS3 thinking Kingdom Hearts 3 would have to come out at some point on it, not realizing the main trilogy would straight up skip an entire console generation.

I mean, I guess there's no guarantee it won't wind up skipping this one as well.

I'll go looking for a Switch when Nintendo announces Metroid Prime 4 (or whatever, just another good Metroid game) which makes me think I won't have one anytime soon. There ARE games that I would buy for it if I had one, Zelda, Splatoon, etc.  But nothing so far that makes me want to go out and grab one because I just HAVE to play that game.

I actually have reserved excitement for some stuff.  A few games I'd be very excited about if I had the free time that I once did.   Shadow of War and Beyond Good and Evil 2 are the highlights so far but the Dragon Ball Fighter Z game is an Arc System Works game so I am actually pretty excited for that one too.

Forza looked great but new Forza games always do so no surprise there.  I appreciate Crackdown and Forza being on Windows 10 because that means I still have zero reason to even think about buying an Xbone which makes me happy.

The pirate game looked pretty good and Wolfenstein looks very entertaining, the new Bioware game looks like a Destiny clone and at this point I just do not care but I might change my mind when they show us more later.  The Spiderman game looked fun, more interesting combat that they have traditionally had so that is a plus. The Shadow of the Colossus remake looked lovely.

I'll buy The Crew 2 because I'll buy anything that lets me drive cars and isn't awful.  I'll buy Battlefront 2 because even if it fails to live up to the hype, I get my moneys worth out of any Star Wars game that isn't complete trash because I enjoy the setting so much.

Honestly nothing was a real surprise except Beyond Good and Evil.  Nintendo still has a shot, but... I mean it is Nintendo.

I was pretty hyped until i saw that it was windows store only.
Hm. I know that the Windows Store represents a big part of MS's push with Xbone-PC connectivity, but it's hard for me to get behind store exclusives. As a guy who grew up with PCs, I'm probably never really going to get away from a PC being my main gaming platform, and it feels weird to have to pick between having a UWP game or no game at all.

Honestly, outside of having to record my desktop instead of just using Shadow play I really don't notice a difference after the mouse cursor disappears.

That said if I wasn't such a Forza fan, and having to have it no matter what, I can see your concerns... Also It's not like MS should be fully trusted anyhow with their checked past.

If you on Windows 10... boot up the store and give Forza Apex a try. It's F2P but still a AAA game.

Note: Capturing video is something I very, very, rarely do.

I don't really mind either but as you said MS has shown what they will do when given the option and it is not pretty. Just look at the prices of the old games and how they are never(seemingly) on sale, I would end up getting games at launch to justify the high price(which admittedly doesn't make sense but whatever lol) or not get them at all.

Upcoming G2A bundle is garbage:

Tropico 4
Dungeons 2
CASE: Animatronics
12 is better than 6
Car Mechanic Simulator 2015
12 is Better than 6 is one of the worst games I've ever tried to play.

Which is amazing considering how good it looks... I really should have returned it since I got it from steam during a steam sale but I really don't like returning games just because they don't agree with me. (Plus I'm always hopefully for better controller support being built into it.)

I can relate, and I could probably relate even more if I owned an Xbox, but what worries me is how few features from Steam MS or any of these other folks have bothered putting into their own clients and how restrictive UWP titles can be in terms of customization (at least that's what I read in some articles a few months ago--maybe it's changed?). GOG is the only store that seems to be trying to slowly add in the kinds of features that people like in Steam into its client, and Ubi, EA, and MS don't really seem to give a damn one way or another. I don't know why MS can't port more stuff to Steam, like it did with Quantum Break. At the end of the day, I'd just rather buy stuff on Steam.

EDIT: I do have Win 10, so I'll have to check out that Forza title at some point. Not much time for gaming this week so far, though.

Now that Fallout and Skyrim are coming to VR do you think Bethesda will give them Ultrawide support? That would be nice. I knew I shouldn't have listened to fox and switched to an ultrawide. What a mistake! I got my ultrawide about a month ago and within a week or so I decided to return it. Best decision I ever made. I took the money and some credit I've been saving and instead I got...

...an even bigger Ultrawide!

Yeah, without a doubt MS "client" is the weakest client... Mostly cause it doesn't even have a client. It has that xbox app, you update via the store, which you also buy from... but none of its linked and even small things can be a pain too do. (ignoring an open mic in FH3 MP is the pits.)

Can anyone come up w/ a different combat style system for this type of game (open-world super-hero game)?
Well, I'm sure someone somewhere might stumble across something better but when you're talking enhanced or peak human engaging multiple bad guys with guns from multiple angless no game pre Arkham Asylum really did it right. I still think it's the best combat system for melee based super hero games.

Simple and clean it is not. (Seriously, I don't know if they could have come up with a more convoluted way to name and order their games if they tried.)

Not sure anyone is a .Hack fan but the .Hack//GU trilogy is getting remastered for PC and PS4

I am very much looking forward to this! I have only ever played .Hack Infection on the PS2 and rememeber it being awesome back in the PS2 days.
Now that's cool. Same here, I only played Infection and it was awesome for its time. I even emulated a few years back and it held up pretty well. Never played the GU games, but I'm all over that once it comes out.

It's silly, but I guess it works. They're all just spin offs, so there's no way they could have ever rightly called any of them "3". Chain of Memories is the only other game that coincides with the main plot following Sora and Riku. As far as I know, the rest are all telling the story of different people (Birth by Sleep is in the distant past, 365/2 Days or whatever its called is Organization 13 story I believe, etc).

KH3 has basically become Square's Half-Life 3. Granted it WILL come out eventually, it's just unbelievable how long it's taking them.

Fox likes his monitors like he likes his Moms, once you go ultrawide you never go back.

Sweet mother of Mothra.  I need to mouth off about game companies more often.  Do I have magical powers?  I think I have magical powers.

Sorry if this was posted, but you can get 10% off Steam cards if you spend $100, on eBay.

Do a search for Steam $50 Gift Card and you'll find the listing.

Good timing for the Steam sale.

I thought Amazon was doing away with the Prime discount on pre-order video games but I just preordered... stuff.  And it gave it to me on all of the games.  Confused.

nah, they just did away with the discount on collector's editions.

the terms and conditions have changed a few times in the last few weeks, to exclude CEs, then that was eliminated, then it was added again. a few CEs are still ringing up with discounts, but most are not. everything is a little sketchy right now.

Keep an eye out for my UltraWide mod for only 1000 Bethesda Bucks!

It sounds like Ni No Kuni 1 is planned for PC according to Namco Bandai France.

Too bad I bought it on PS3 during an earlier sale, but at least it was only $5.
I think that Ni No Kuni was probably the best RPG on the PS3. I know a lot of people didn't care for the grinding though and quit partway through. The Ghibli inspirations and the art direction were top notch. The game was about 100 hours for full completion.

Alright! More console games being ported to the PC (Ni No Kuni 1 + Hack/GU Trilogy)!!! :)

Now, where's that Red Dead Redemption PC port + Destiny 1 PC port?
