Ugh, now I wish I'd bought it when it was $10 but I kinda expected this when they announced the upgrade price. I'm sure there will be backlash but lets face it, the backlash does nothing. Anyone remember when we were mad at Capcom? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

I saw this link on another discussion. It looks like they are keeping up the original version of Horizon 1 in a Steam bundle at least for now. Probably won’t be cheap but same price as the default remastered page.

One would hope the default package for the remastered version will include both games but either way it means it probably won't be at that same price range any time soon and I definitely almost bought it at $10 and certainly would have if I had known there was going to be something in the pipeline like this. At least when Bethesda did something similar with Skyrim they had a decent sale one last time after they announced the new edition. This just comes across like a money grab and that's even before the inevitable "this upgrade wasn't worth $10" backlash that we know will happen.

I ordered it anyway for $10, but hate it when Steam games require another account.

Agreed when I buy from any digital store. I only want to tolerate that digital store's non-sense that I buy it from, nobody else's client-app crap.

If I buy from Steam, I want Steam only. If I buy from Epic, I only want Epic. If I buy from EA App - yup, only EA App crap is what I want to deal with. Buy from Rockstar Launcher - yep, only want their stuff. If I buy from GOG - yup, I maybe want to deal w/ Galaxy when need be (since games are DRM-FREE and Galaxy client-app is optional).

Sony could solve this on PC and just sell their game on their own PSN PC App - and chances are, I'd get it there later.

Yeah there's tons of stuttering on the SH2 PC version from my testing (I preordered it during the GMG price mistake). Seems like something that could be fixed by precompiling shaders on the first launch of the game.. which for some reason MANY developers forget to add as a feature to UE4/UE5 games. Visions of Mana being one of them, but thankfully they caught that when people tested the VoM demo and the final release had no stutter. Silent Hill 2 being such a big release should not have this much stutter, but I guess it was more of an afterthought compared to the PS5 version. Bloober team had to really push Konami to even have a PC version.

I really hope this gets fixed in a day 1 patch for people that don't have early access.

I hate Windows. I can’t even type the word “naïve” in Windows without googling the four letter damn code you need to memorize to get any specific diacritic on Windows, which, guess what, doesn’t even work on my keyboard. Why is such a backwards damn OS even allowed to exist?

I remember the days when not knowing alt codes meant you couldn't really do good emoticons (though back then we just called them smilies). Ô¿Ô alt-0212 alt-0191 will forever be burned into my brain. Yet another example of full sized keyboard superiority! ï ï ï But also, character map still exists.

So, how's Linux? Which flavor are you running on your rig now? :p

They just revoked the EDF6 keys from the Humble Bundle price error, guess I should have played it some when I had the chance ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I daily drive Mac, and only use Windows for games, but I’m seriously considering switching to Linux for my gaming install at some point in the future. Windows and I have never gotten along. I may actually switch to Linux for daily driving, too, if Apple keeps pissing me off. Need to do some more research.

Heads-up that if you claimed Anima Flux from IGN+, it officially released today.
They did a mass revoke of the original codes and are promising to grant ownership of the full title to previous owners but if you'd rather not wait (or understandably don't trust them to follow through), you can join their Discord (here) and DM the admin, Sneaky Rat, your old dead code to get a new one.

Red Dead Redemption 1 and the DLC are coming to PC finally right before Halloween on October 29th.

Looks like Steam-version requires Rockstar Launcher crap too, according to Steam.

Do people still buy rockstar launcher keys? I'd imagine the only reason they're still using that shit is if people are still buying them to save a couple of bucks
GTA5 has basically been a Rockstar MMO for the last decade so I'd imagine the majority of those related purchases are technically directly though their launcher. My copy of RDR2 was through the weird sale where if you owned the multiplayer version (which was super cheap) you could buy the single player for under $5 directly through the launcher. As a result it's my most played game from the Epic Store.

Rockstar launcher could shove it! I will get RDR 1 on pc someday though.

I'm a lot less annoyed by the launcher (we lost that fight long ago) than by the fact it took them so long to put RDR on PC and they'll no doubt be charging $50+ initially for a game that is almost 15 years old and isn't even a significant remaster. But at least it's finally here as it was pretty much the last multi-platform holdout from that generation that had never come to PC.

MysterD finally stopped begging for it long enough for Rockstar to forget they were playing denial games with him.

God, he must be spent.

It looks like Dell changed how AlienwareArena rewards/Dell Rewards work.

Previously you manually converted Points to "Dollar Balance" then redeemed the "Dollar Balance" when purchasing.

Now you directly redeem points in multiples of 1000 when doing a purchase. Excess points are converted to "Dollar Balance" on your Rewards page. For example, I just spent 7000 points on a $69.54 order, the $0.46 balance from the 7000 points is now on my rewards page as "Dollar Balance".

I guess they didn't like people extending their expiration date by converting Points to Dollars.

Also, consider this a reminder that points will expire in 6 days.

I would probably rather have RDR1 PC on Rockstar Launcher alone at this point.

I had so many issues w/ PoP: Forgotten Sands on Steam (req. Ubi client-app), RDR2 on Epic (req. R* Launcher), ME: Legendary on Steam (Req. EA Desktop App junk) w/ it not always booting the always-required launcher and/or just not booting the game. Such a pain the neck I'd just rather not deal with.

With the Required-App not updating properly or whatever else - might as well just use the OG Launcher only and nothing else.

Often, the trick is this if you get stuck w/ the double-client whammy: boot the always-required launcher specific to that game first, then boot the game from wherever you bought the game. That way, if you try to boot the game - well, it ain't gotta look for the required-app & boot it up, if it's already running. So, yeah - say you bought RDR2 from Steam: boot Rockstar junk (the required-always app), then Steam, and run said game from Steam.

I swear to god I looked three or four times to see if that RDR1 announcement was some kind of a cruel prank. I've never played it -- just RDR2 -- and I figured I probably never would. R*. Those guys are nuts... tight-lipped about it for a decade and announce it weeks before it drops. I'd be no more surprised if Half Life 3 were announced tomorrow.

My only fear is if it will hold up to my expectations. I know it's a generation earlier and probably many millions cheaper in production. As long as it works I think I'll be good.

I mean, is it even worth playing RDR without the realistic horse genitalia shrinkage? Honestly.

I haven’t been paying much attention for a long time, but I kinda think they may be operating in good faith. I mean, who BUYS a blatantly failed kickstarter project if they’re not planning to try to finish it to make some money on it?

I’m all but certain the thing’s never coming out despite that, but unless it’s some weird ponzi scheme or something, I feel like they’re probably at least putting a minimal amount of effort into trying to finish the thing.

It's just so weird that they spent many updates sending out these vacuous design docs, disappeared for a long time, and now are back. I recall people who bought it claiming they were dedicating their time to other low quality games instead. I hope they're sincere. It wasn't a project I expected would ever be finished at this point, but it's hard to trust them with their history. I mean if I see the name Playdek or Little Orbit on another game, I wouldn't buy it. Playdek almost made me give up on Kickstarter altogether.

I did give up on Kickstarter altogether. I backed this AND Project Phoenix.

I have 3 or 4 super late or never coming games. Some horror visual novel (was cheap at least), visual novel from a company that jetted away, and some other indie platforming game. Lot of stuff just doesn't work out sadly. I'm pretty much done with Kickstarter other than a board game or two.

I've still never backed a crowd-funded game, but my brother did once. Dropped like $100-150 for one of the Mighty No. 9 tiers. He, uh, wasn't too thrilled with the end product.
