Trying to play my Steam purchases from the winter sale to see if I refund. Decided to put my thoughts as well since some may want to play these games/DLC. I will also play the hotness that is UFO 50 and see if it's as awesome as everyone makes it out to be. Will be trying out Reign of the Renegade as well as some DLC (Dice Folk Chimera, Brotato Abyss, Vampire Survivors Castlevania, Realm of Frost and Inkwash). I'm guessing most of those will be fine and possibly the Chimera will be junky, but I haven't played Dice Folk in a bit.
Indies' Lies - Desires Flowing - This is only a DLC for those who want more of the game. It introduces a Puppetmaster class and map, in a standalone expansion thing. I'm a little disappointed these characters can't be used in the main game maps, but using minions doesn't work with a full party. This game is still fun in a 7/10 type of way offering a decent amount of builds and good challenge when you start using modifiers. Pretty much this just gives 3 acts to a new character and you can unlock stuff for them to play out this mode. Not essential at all, but the cheaper price gives more fun to this game. Always a weird game with some questionable translations and localizations, but it's just a decent enough Slay the Spire like. This was played for about 3 hours leading to a win.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate - This game isn't worth it unless you're doing co-op, and even then I don't think it's worth it. I think is one the games where the demo felt pretty fair single player, but the actual game doesn't work well single player, and it's just a Hades clone. It does exactly what I hate in games where enemies are hard and can hit like a truck, but they all have way too much HP, so the fights last forever. The unlock system is extremely grindy and doesn't feel like you're improving as much compared to Hades. I should have just bought Hades 2, but I love the Turtles and this game doesn't feel fun to play alone. Also the number of skills is super limited and you always face the same bosses and a set of mini bosses. The scaling for these challenge portals for bosses/mini bosses is a joke single player and should be avoided unless you're a master and want to waste a lot of time facing such heavy HP pool and armored enemies. The demo kind of tricked me, as I felt the game was balanced enough single player where I made it through the demo in about 2-3 hours. Nothing felt like a slog, but the true game is a slog. If you do play this remember damage is king and damage over time is the way to go with these HP sponges. A demo I liked enough to give a 7.5/10 or something and the real game is like a high 6/10. I beat the game once at least, but I'm retiring it after almost 12 hours (I really gave it a chance).
