A shame Gamefly doesn't let you buy gift codes. Have a couple friends who I'd like to get Torchlight 2 for so we can play it together.

Whenever Portal or Portal 2 goes on sale it just feels like Valve didn't have anything better to run or someone cancelled at the last minute and they just phoned a deal in.

Ah, okay interesting. I briefly noticed it on the new release list but my eyes saw "free to play" and I immediately moved on without investigating. :p
There should be a better way to distinguish between "free" and "free-to-play," since one of them is designed to try to get you to pay them and one is designed to get you to play them, and they are backwards. Maybe we should start calling all free-to play games demos or DLC Collecting Simulators.

Well honestly the P2W tag should be used more liberally... to separate the stuff that is totally free, e.g. Source mods, The Path, Path of Exile (cosmetic only purchases).

Borderlands 1 going Steamworks according to Eurogamer.

Maybe they merge Civ3 & Civ4 PC&MAC and expansions to single entry! (Game collectors gonna rage, but I'd like it)

2K will be migrating the PC versions of Borderlands, Civilization 3 and Civilization 4 - along with their expansions - to Steamworks following GameSpy's multiplayer server shutdown.

There are certainly F2P games that do it right. I've been playing a ton of Heartstone lately without having paid a cent, and feel no obligation to unless I wind up getting impatient and just want to toss a few bucks Blizzard's way (because I'm sure they need it). TF2 also does a good job of not requiring you to pay to enjoy it, as does Path of Exile (or so my sources tell me).

I'd love to see the tagging system be used to better distinguish between F2P and P2W games, although that's probably hopeless with how it's currently abused. I know a lot of people have a distaste for F2P games, but I think that's all on the developers/publishers for only realizing how to properly DO F2P <5% of the time, not the idea itself being some backhanded way to squeeze more money out of players than a traditional upfront price.

Yep. I'm pretty loath to try anything F2P... I'd rather have a fixed upfront cost and play without making financial decisions.

Here's hoping we get RE 4 HD in some sort of Steam sale possibly this summer so Amazon will match it and sell it dirt cheap.

Also kinda hope Skullgirls gets bundled, it is like three years old, right?

Thanks for this Motoki, I was puzzled how The Milk of Hot Trash made it on to steam (completely shattering any hope for greenlight).

Wait, this is what it took to shatter your faith in Greenlight?! Not the Snotman game or the myriad pixel-art roguelike clones, inexplicable Japanese things and items that don't even really qualify as games by most meaningful standards?

what's wrong with snotman?

On a side note, after playing games nearly non-stop from November through last week, I've finally started doing something productive I had since put off.

Idling for cards.  Seventy-some down, four hundred thirty three to go.

It does suck, however, because my next game up is Bioshock Infinite.  Maybe next weekend I'll start it.

Good time to get Portal 2 with the $4.80ish of rewards available from Playfire.

I've got a $5 Xbox Gift Card for anyone who wants to gift me a copy. :whistle2:

Haven't paid single cent to Steam since cards were added.

Hoping Playfire Rewards do same to GMG.

Waiting for:

Yeah, thank baby Jesus I'm not one of those dumbasses that crafts badges.
