The QUBE dev is now offering free Steam keys for the Director's Cut for anyone that owns the original game.

Hi everyone,

We’ve read through all your comments and honestly didn’t realise the decision to make the game paid for existing customers (albeit the 50% discount) would cause so much negativity within our fanbase. We’ve spent around a year adding the new content to the game, recording voice actors, hiring a writer and getting an entirely new soundtrack produced to fit with the new narrative. Originally we said the update would be free but we ended up spending a lot longer and a lot more money on the revised version of the game and felt it justified a price tag. You guys are the reason we’re able to make games for a living so the last thing we want to do is upset people. In this case we’d like to sincerely apologise to those who feel cheated by this and are happy to offer you a free steam key for the game if you own the original. Send an email to [email protected] with your Steam username requesting a key.

I'm still struggling about buying space hulk. A lot of people said it's fully patched, But I've never played the board game. I love tactical games and the Warhammer 40k universe, but I will play it mostly single player. Any thoughts? I don't think the devs are done launching DLCs, so it won't have a "complete" version yet.

I picked it up and have messed around with it some... I think the board game roots are noticeable (like you never played it) but its been pretty solid so far. (I have come across some "I know what I'm suppose to do but I'm not sure how I'm suppose to do that" issues with the controls but I think that was most me not paying attention.)

I have an i3 + 2gb 6870 + 4gb ram.
16gb of ram or bust! I don't care if I'll ever use it, I NEED it! Of course I bought mine when it was at rock bottom prices, unlike the insane prices today.

Edit: I paid $66 for 16gb in Dec 2012. That same ram now costs $165.

Was about to email the dev, then I realized I don't own even the regular Q.U.B.E. How is that possible? Hasn't it been in like 783,234,978,182 bundles?
IATD says it's been in only 3, Groupees Holiday one last year, Bandits Steam Bundle 1 (which no one besides me got), and IR Mixer 4.

I think it was also on IndieGameStand.

My (now defunct) laptop was an i7 with 16gb ram, because I worked with it.

Now I have a company desktop at work, so I built a desktop at home mainly for gaming and media sharing (plex). I'll buy more ram eventually, maybe another 4gb stick, but I'm not in a hurry xD

I'm thinking of building a new one by year's end, leaving the actual to the kids

Hmm...tempting. That's a lot of potential PF rewards.

Problem is a lot of those have been bundled recently elsewhere/put on Spotlight/IndieGameStand. Some have been repeated a bunch (Memories of a Vagabond, Don't Move, Sick Brick, Data Hacker: Corruption, Power-Up). GEARCRACK Arena was also free through WGN.

But for $2.49, I guess I can look past the repeats to the 6 games I don't have. There's always the mystery game too? :p

hgahha i already have it all needs 80% off 75% off is so 20years ago heh
heh. I looked at Tropico 4 DLC prices and said fuck it and bought Tropico 5 directly. :D

Seems like they added 5.5 GBP worth of rewards. So accounting for that it's going to be pretty good purchase.

Anyone want Tropico 4 (gift) for 1 TF2-key?

GetGames is having a sale on several Lego titles this weekend, for 75% off.

Games include:

(Note: Amazon also has Lego titles on sale for Meh-hem at $5.00 each, so check there if you have Amazon gift cards to use.)

Also, an Alan Wake sale, for 75% off.

All activate on Steam.

I noticed this too, either they're gonna add the full game at 10AM PST or it's just the Kalypso launcher.
It's redistributable files (DirectX)

Gift copies only, others have access.

They forgot to give access to games files for gift copies.

- State : Active( flags 0 )
- Apps : 245620, 284442, (2 in total)
- Depots : (0 in total)

Edit: Using appid trick or sam cards can be idled before they lose all value.

Darn. I could have gone for a LEGO Loaded.Still waiting for them to be lower than $5 or to show up on GMG again for $5.

Considering how they couldn't handle pre-order bonuses correctly either, Kalypso really dun goofed on this one.

Bleh. Another crappy repeat Daily Deal.

They recently had a 85% off Tropico sale on Steam. I'd imagine it'll hit that point again during the Summer sale. Pass.

This isn't mentioned but Tropico Reloaded's also on sale for $1.74.

Oh goodness, why am I tempted to buy Collapse?

Euro Truck Sim 2 is 19.95 now.

Gala price is 15.95

Looks like it was a glitch.

Hi all.  I'm getting ready for the 3-Day Weekend (Memorial Day - thanks for all you do and have done, veterans).

I'm looking for game suggestions, as the Steam "Recommendations" choices are...something of a mixed bag.

Any recommendations for a RPG similar to Bioware (narrative & choice driven) or Bethesda games (open-world)?

Narrative & Choice Driven:

* Knights of the Old Republic

* Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords (obsidian)

* Jade Empire

* Mass Effect

* Dragon Age

* Witcher: Extended Edition Director's Cut (CD Projekt RED)

* Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Extended Edition (CD Projekt RED)

* Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut (Eidos Montreal)

Open World:

* Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

* Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivian

* Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

* Fallout 3

* Fallout: New Vegas (obsidian)

Thanks!

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines is on sale for $5 on Amazon. Also get the original Deus Ex there for like $3.

They aren't anywhere near as polished as Bioware's games, but Spider's stuff is definitely very similar gameplay wise. Of Orcs and Men and Mars: War Logs are pretty much their take on a fantasy/sci-fi choice based RPG, so you might enjoy them if you can get past their extremely b-game nature.

You might also enjoy Alpha Protocol which has a similar narrative choice system with more extreme consequences than you'll probably see from most of Bioware's stuff (though other areas of the game are not as polished).

Shadowrun Returns is also heavily narrative and player choice based, though the gameplay isn't anything like the games you mentioned.

I'm not sure about a Bethesda open world RPG, those are sort of in a class of their own. You could try one of the many Skyrim knockoffs, like Ravensword, or dip into some of the older Elder Scrolls/Fallouts, that's probably as close as you will get (unless you feel like dipping your feet into an MMO, but that's probably not what you're looking for).

I think you meant to say Spiders. Spiderweb are the people who made Avernum and Avadon.
