That's a huge reason it's nice to have an Xbox 360 or One for the Forza series, which is the top of the genre in my opinion.
Having a few hundred hours in Forza 4 I can attest that as a driving simulator, it's not bad. As a tuning simulator, it's awful and no where even close to emulating the correct physics. The NASCAR games are better in this respect as they tend to allow for a more realistic reflection of adjustments made. It's too bad Eutechnyx has no idea how to program AI.

That's nothing. Even if you include the repeats between Windows and Mac versions of Civ in my library, I've only got 56 games listed in Steam. I have a few hundred Steam keys I haven't redeemed, sure, but I'm pretty sure I've got the smallest steamcount of any regular in this thread.

1.  Gran Turismo is the greatest racing sim of all time.

2.  Anyone that has raced with me knows that trying to cause a multi-car pile up at the start is something you have to plan for whenever I'm playing.

Yeah... but they're really odd... every time I manage to get to the front of the pack they do this to me.

Do not buy the NASCAR 201x stuff on steam.

RACE '07 and expansions are solid and only $3 right now.

I'm quite partial to KUNOS Simulazioni's Assetto Corsa and nK Pro. (greenlit)

Codemaster's F1 2012/2013 is quite solid as well. (Do not buy the GFWL ridden 2010/2011.)

I enjoyed Test Drive Ferrari Racing legends as well due to the classic cars/tracks (GFWL).

With all assists off Test Drive Unlimited 2 is quite enjoyable.

There's some upcoming/Early Access stuff that looks promising but I haven't tried.
I picked up NASCAR 2013 when it was $5 and thought what the hell. I want my $5 back and then some for wasting my time. I don't even know what to say to that series... it's literally like a giant experiment to see how much bad of a game they could make and see how many people buy next year's.

Has anyone tried the NASCAR 2003 season by Papyrus? I heard it still has a cult following almost a decade later but the prices seem a bit high for a game that old. I heard that the people who developed that where also the ones who developed iracing.

Use the count on your profile page :newbie:

56 Games?!? You're going on CAG Probation.

That's why I primarily do time trials with the newer NASCAR games. The racing with the AI is awful, but the simulation engine is actually pretty decent. I did 100 laps at Indy in one sitting previously, just tuning my setup.

I don't idle for cards (too lazy), so I don't see much reason to add my bundle fodder to my library if I'm not gonna be playing it any time soon (so effectively never for most of it).
So, you don't do cards. You don't +1 your Steam count. You don't play the games. You don't sell the games. And you still buy bundles.

Well, I'm confuzzled.

I'll piggyback on to this to again mention that I managed to grab an extra Collector's Edition if anyone wanted it and missed it. I'm not giving it away, but I will make it available at my cost.
If someone claims this, I will breathe a sigh of relief. But if no one wants it, let me know. I am a sucker for things I don't need (or even want!).

I could use one. Sadly, I didn't follow the TV series, but read about it and I'm really curious. I read the game is tied to it, and really want to see how they did that (I will watch the series very soon). Plus, I want something along TSW. TSW was my first MMORPG... and is still the only one :)
Sent. Buckle up.

TSW and Defiance are nothing alike. Defiance is like a third person Borderlands MMO with tons of MMOy things to do, skills to unlock, randomized loot to pick up, personal vehicles, hordes and hordes of enemies, and massive cooperative boss battles around the map that anyone can jump into and start blasting away.

It's also got a solid storyline, special missions that tie into each episode of the show as they air, and all kinds of other stuff. It's got flaws, and the bullet impact could feel heavier, but it's a really cool game and even more so if you're a fan of the show like me.
Well said. Agree with everything. Just want to add that it can be fun to always have your little dirt bike thingy and just fart around the land.

I did, old person.

You might be the #fakecag'est person I ever done did meet.

My hat's off to you; that's quite the accomplishment.

I don't blame you. This is how far I have gotten after I finally decided to start idling a few weeks ago:

I definitely wouldn't call Forza the pinnacle of hardcore racing simulators, as it's simply not realistic to that high of a degree, as the tuning shows. That said, I do stand by the claim that it is hands down the best series to marry simulation and fun together, as far as realism combined with playability and enjoyment is concerned. There is no other game that allows so much depth, player interaction through gameplay and customization, wealth of cars, upgrades, tracks, events, etc, in the same way that Forza does. I was a massive Gran Turismo aficionado all the way from GT1 to GT4 until I picked up Forza 2. I've never looked back.

I will say the FEEL of driving in Forza 5 is nothing like I've played before. I have Forza 2-5 (not the Horizon spinoff) and the leap between driving feel between 4 and 5 is quite large in my opinion. The selection of cars and tracks is sadly a lot weaker than in 4, but the quality is indisputable.

Thanks for explaining that. I think I'll love it then. Borderlands MMO and solid storyline is a big + in my book!. I'm downloading it right now and will play it tomorrow :D/

I think he has the right idea in not idling for cards. I didn't play any games for a few days because my pc was too busy downloading and then idling games. Still, getting steam credit for free is nice.

512 card drops remaining
146 games with drops remaining
88 games eligible for booster packs

Worth Approximately $75.87
However, I don't sell my normal cards for Gabenbucks. I craft badges, and only sell foils, so...

too bad its not called stomping zombies
I'm currently developing a game called stomping zombies right now with my RPG Maker. Early Early Access is only $49.99 if you two are interested, which you should be because this epic game will probably triple upon release... estimated schedule is between now and never.

Hard to recommend something without knowing what functionality you require, but I've been using the same Linksys wrt54g for a decade now, and it still works like the day I got it. I'd buy whatever the new model in that line is in a heartbeat. You can also save some money and get one that's compatible with open source firmware like dd-wrt. Gives you a nice boost in features in line with more expensive models.
The Asus N66 is a solid choice. I have an N56 and I'm very happy with it. Good wireless signals, can hang a USB drive off it as a storage server. Gigabit switch. It depends on your needs, but I'm happy with Asus since I made the switch from the WRT54G. They do have custom firmware as well if you're into that kind of thing.
The functionality I require is having my two PCs & Ooma internet phone hooked up to it via ethernet, and all my mobile devices, printer, laptop, playstations hooked up via wifi, and get a signal around my whole house. I'll compare the N66 to the N56, I don't know the difference besides one being more pricey.

What I need is more range, more reliability, I was also wondering if using wireless N will give me less interference and thus better connectivity. My current router has a weak or absent signal in some rooms and is crapping out more and more often, sometimes I have to reboot the router to get it back and often having to change wifi channels to get Netflix to work.
