Reddit seems to think it's because of some CS:Go gun that might get delisted. Might. Me? I think it's a coincidence and a lot of people are gonna lose money over this.

Wo0t @ that NewEgg $15 XB controller deal.

D was all over that one.
I wish I was around when that deal went live.

... and that I had money for it, too.

Edit: The store is back, tried the code again, and it worked. Yippee.

The cosmetic market for some of these in-game items is beyond madness. StatTrak™ M4A4 | Griffin (Factory New) for CS:GO are being listed at ~$218. Sixteen sold just recently for $112 a piece. Seriously, that really is insane and it's not just my inner CAG thinking here. I'm even thinking with my occasional snakeybroing-tendencies on this and it's still asinine.

Sixteen people spent 112,000 Metro Last Lights just for one! Gadzooks!

It's all but impossible to pass up a 360 PC controller for $15. I'm buying one just as a backup.
I complain about not having money and what happens? One of my eBay listings finally sells.

*buys one*

When I add the 360 controller to cart, Newegg just deletes it instantly.  I guess it's dead then?  Maybe I'll try another browser.

EDIT: Now it shows sold out on the item page.  Guess I'll just keep using this Logitech fake PS2 from 2005 then.

I got really excited about that controller until I remembered I already have one, plus the Xbone controller works great when plugged in via micro USB.

Those StatTrak guns always seem to be high priced, though never came across one as insane as that. Most, when I was flipping items on Steam, were 1-10 dollars which already seemed pretty out there.

I did this one for the 100% not long ago before the update and it was bad. The update made it significantly better but that wasn't much of a hurdle. I still can't recommend it. It's also about 800 MB in an age where I'm routinely surprised by how small some of the indies we see are.

If you think a few hundred for a gun is bad, check out some of the knife skins. There are plenty of knives that sell for 600-1500 on a regular basis. It's insane.
Links plz. I need some validation to make myself feel less awful.

So I pre-ordered Lara Crotch and the Temple of Osteoporosis when Ubisoft was running the B1G1F.

Installed it.  Tried to start it.  Little box comes up telling me I need an operating system of Vista or newer to run the game.

Which is funny considering I have Windows 8 and can run games like Shadow of Mordor at better than average settings with no problems.

A great reminder about why I NEVER pre-order games.

Maybe they consider Windows 8 a downgrade

But not .1?

There's your problem. it needs that little extra. Vidja games are highly sophisticated electronic products with many ones, zeros and graphics. Lots of graphics. So... problem solved.

Sorry. I DID upgrade to 8.1 a while back. So it isn't that.

Deadpan seriousness in the face of sarcasm. ALWAYS. :D

I am still on the prowl for a good XB1 controller deal.

What, this is insanity. People should be buying real guns instead of 'skins' for those prices. ::::facepalm:::

I'm buying you all Dragon Age Inquisition as soon as it comes on Steam.
I feel like I should have already realized that DA:I is not on Steam. BioWare/EA and all that. I was even thinking about playing it the other day after I heard a few good things. I guess I'll get around to playing it when EA gives it away for free or their store glitches out. Or maybe not even then as I've only played one of the 25+ games I have on Origin.

I don't dislike Origin. It's just a forgettable platform for me. I've skipped pretty much all of the "big" exclusives they've had on it, and it's a shame Valve and EA can't get together and figure out how to give the consumer a choice. :whistle2:?

Yeah, I know, but that's not really what I meant. I don't like the idea of games being held hostage to a particular platform -- or should I say "from my platform of choice" -- because I know Valve games are sold elsewhere but only run through Steam.

I use Steam a lot and I always have it open because of the social features and the convenience, I'd just to see publishers allow me to buy their games on that platform if I so choose. I get that they're all trying to get in on the action, but the games they are playing against each other affects me, the consumer. Is that really a win for them?

Anyhow... too much about a tired old subject. I'm simply trying to say that Dragon Age: Inquisition would definitely be a game I'd play, but I tend to forget that Origin is there and, consequently, my games on that platform mostly get ignored. It's a failing on my part, but I'm sure I'm not alone.

I've also done a little bit of CS:GO item flipping but like you it was with items in the $1-$5 range. It's maddening what some people will invest a large amount of money into. *looks at Steam library* Hmm. :whistle2:k

I actually forgot about those knife skins. I guess it's just the rarity but it's still crazy insane. To top it off Steam\Valve takes 5% off the top of those transactions and CS:GO takes 10%. What a market.

Console gamer who want to play exclusive on different platform

Cost: at least $300 to switch console on current gen

PC gamer who want to play exclusive on different platform

Cost: nothing.. just 1 simple switching of client.. Still the cost of entry for some of the master race members is too damn high for some... :wall: Come on, you only hurt yourself when you skip a game based on the client. What happen to the olden days when we skip game based on quality and not on client, cards or achievement? The younger generation of gamers ..

I agree it's a bit silly to skip a game based on client, but to each their own. I would much, much rather have a game on Steam than Origin (part of the reason I bought Dragon Age on steam this past sale despite it being given away for free by Origin), but I won't skip a game entirely because of it.

That said, I would be interested in some type of study or something regarding the difference in income achieved by having the game on Steam vs not having the pay the Valve fee for having the game sold through their client. People obviously prefer Steam over Origin and Uplay, and I know some people HATE them, like, refuse to buy games that are hosted through them. When it looked like Ubisoft wasn't going to sell their new games on Steam I saw comments in different sites from a lot of people who said they wouldn't buy the games because of that.

I think I may not have been clear: I don't think I'll skip Dragon Age: Inquisition because I refuse to use a different client. I think I'll likely skip it because it's out of sight, out of mind. I pay almost zero attention to Origin (mostly sales aren't impressive), I rarely start the client and it doesn't remind me that it's there (Steam pop-ups), and when I'm looking for a game to play I'm always always browsing through my Steam client Library.

I have games on Origin that I actually do intend to play but I always forget about them. I suppose I could add them as links to my Steam library (which I may just do), but then you get into the aggravation of Origin patching and BioWare weirdness with DLC. Just sayin'... it could be a whole lot easier for me and I'd be much more likely to play (buy?) it if it were on a client I use regularly.
