Nuuvem's got a Konami Weekend Deal thing going on.

http://www.nuuvem.com.br/promo/fds-konami

Ending Monday:

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - 5.57

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 - 13.37

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 - Revelations - 3.56

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 costume / relic DLCs - $0.44 each

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate HD - 4.45

Ending next Friday:

Battle: Los Angeles - 3.78

Puzzle Chronicles - 3.78

Rocket Knight - 3.78

SAW - 7.80

Silent Hill Homecoming - 7.80

I believe that this is the lowest Rocket Knight has been in... forever. All are Steam keys, prices are in USD converted from Real, add a few cents for Paypal's currency exchange.

I loved the original Rocket Knight on Genesis. Crazy that the remake never goes on sale, but that's Konami for you. I haven't heard great things about it, but maybe I'll get it anyway just for the novelty factor.

Good price for Lords of Shadow, too.

good candidate for Humble Konami bundle, tier 1

Am I crazy or has Nuuvem had a Castlevania sale for a straight month?

Omg! Less than 12 hours until a big Binding of Isaac Rebirth announcement! I'm guessing it will be the release date, but what if they launch it tomorrow? How am I going to be able to sleep tonight?

Guilty Gear X2 #Reload has a store page now, game will go live in 11 hours.

It's published by KISS so.. can't wait till it's bundled. I'm glad I ended up not buying it on GOG.

Another lazy, unoptimized port.

"shouldn't expect to get a full, steady 60fps unless you're running at medium settings - even my Core i5-4670K and GeForce GTX 780 weren't capable of sustaining it with maxed-out settings when in the midst of a horde."

Knowing Kiss, it'll just be the GOG port... so it'll be glitchy and without netplay. :\

Maybe talking about Dead Ring 3?

So, in backlog news I took a break yesterday from my month-long re-obsession with FTL in order check out a few previously bundled games:

Typing of the Dead: Overkill

Typing phrases to kill zombies is as much fun as it ever was.  But the camera gave me a headache, and I had to quit before the end of the first level, which I felt was a bit too long anyway.  Also, the writing is embarrassingly bad.  Some people say it's supposed to be B-movie bad, but I thought it was more like "written and acted by a video game nerd with no writing credentials and who doesn't speak English natively failing to parody a B-movie" bad.  Recommended for 12-year-olds, maybe.

Frederic: Resurrection of Music

I liked the art style, and the new arrangements of Chopin were quite clever.  The story is kind of bizarre - maybe they could have sold it with better voice-acting.  It's too bad, because without a solid story it's just a port of a mobile rhythm game with not very good controls.  I don't see myself going back to it.

Ultionus: A Tale of Petty Revenge

Predictably, this game is too hardcore for me.  I liked it enough to keep trying while dying an excessive number of times, but after two days failing to beat the first boss I think I'd have to dial it back to easy mode to continue, and since that's too much of an ego blow I'll probably just move on to my next backlogged title.  Good old school game design and great music, though.

The reason I've been reinvesting so much time into FTL is because with the advanced edition content it no longer feels like there are only two ways to beat the game.  You can choose from a number of different viable strategies now - and so can the enemies, adding a lot more diversity to the gameplay.  I love it.  I never felt much of a compulsion to unlock all the ships before since I'd end up using the same strategies anyway, but now some of their differences can have a real impact on the way you play.  The only problem is that a complete runthrough guarantees at least a two hour stretch of my day lost to the vacuum of space; once you get into it, it's very hard to stop until you beat that final boss.

I'd love for it to be released today, I'd buy that instantly as long as there's a loyalty discount for owning the original. Otherwise, I might wait an hour. That'll show 'em.

Hm. I thought it was definitely intended to be a B-movie videogame and thought it worked quite well as one. If you didn't like Machete or Grindhouse, you probably wouldn't like this either. Oh well.

Well, maybe I didn't see enough, considering I couldn't even finish the first level without feeling sick. Initial impressions, take em for whatever they're worth.

Yeah, that's too bad. The nature of these on-rails shooters is that you're definitely "along for the ride" as far as the camera goes, so that's a minus if you're prone to motion sickness.

Yeah, I normally struggle with FPSs, but I wasn't expecting it with this one.  Don't remember having this problem when I played the first Typing of the Dead on Dreamcast eons ago.  Getting old...

Well, I was certainly hoping they could at least make it before Halloween. Weird that they wouldn't push for that instead since they came up with 11/4 (if this is correct).
It's seems they were going for a biblical alegory with the release date. You know, like the originals release.

I grew up watching the kind of movies this game is based on. It gets the atmosphere damn right, bad acting and all.

Oh, the developers of the original game - and the team that created the Typing version - are both British. There's a bit of influence from the country's Video Nasties in the game, too.

So Aksys is putting games on greenlight now? Da fuq? They're a well known publisher so I don't see the need.

Anyway, hopefully they put the Zero Escape series on Steam, I'd rebuy them and possibly gift them to some CAGs if they did.
Maybe it's because they haven't released anything on Steam yet? I know Ghostlight had to do the same for Agarest: Generations of War (I don't think they had to use Greenlight for Agarest Zero though). I still voted for it though.

Speaking of Ghostlight they announced that a PC port of Way of the Samurai 4 is coming to Steam later in the year.

2 month wait for Binding of Isaac :(

Oh well, at least we're getting it this year, although it's odd they want to release right in the middle of the biggest gaming releases of the year.

It's already the number 2 seller on Steam.

Eh, I thought the discount would be greater for it, maybe I didn't really keep up cause dev made it sound like it'll be at least 50% off or more, though from people response, this game deserve a remake. I can always wait it out.

To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time that the Guild Wars games have ever been on sale on steam. Or at the very least, it hasn't happened in all the time it's been on my wishlist (added to wishlist on Jul 02, 2011).

Makes me wonder why all of a sudden they've decided to discount the games.

Free-to-Play game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms is having another free DLC weekend, with one piece given away each day. Friday's DLC is Looks and Power (Assault).
I've never played it, but I did pick up the free DLC the last time they handed it out. I found that I couldn't add this DLC until I went back and hit PLAY GAME from the store page (and then cancelled, of course). After that it registered the new one to my account.

Considering most people got it in a Humble Bundle for $1 or less I'm not sure why anyone would expect a really huge loyalty discount.
