Im balls deep in Destiny and its so good.
I think you mis-read the insert disc prompt.

That second article has no sources. Just a Youtube video.

That first one feels really iffy. Just... iffy. I'm not saying it's all made up, but I don't believe this is 100% true either. Something's damn weird here.
It's on the internet, it must be true.

New Releases

The Guild Gold Edition- $7.99
Well now I don't have to wonder if I made a mistake by not buying this on GOG before it was de-listed. Cool.

Yeah, it's all weird. I think this is more of the Zoe Quinn crap just snowballing. I wish she was never born.

That first article is a mess. Loose Change was more convincing (and less desperate) than some of this anti-games-press stuff.

Phil Fish is a dude.
He means it's an attempt to legitimize the shit people starting slinging around "Quinngate" or "GamerGate" or whatever they're calling it now by insinuating criminal investigations/charges that may or may not be real.

I hear that slut's pretty good at snowballing.
I cannot in good conscience "like" that comment, but I want you to know that I thought the wordplay was clever.

Better late than never. As long as it hits the PC - that's all that matters to me.

And there's plenty of fantastic games that are old as heck - i.e. go see Planescape: Torment, BG1+2, Deus Ex 1, and the freakin' list goes on and on and on.

How did you feel waiting for Diablo III to get RoS on the consoles (with the D3: UEE)? That's right - you console-gamers wait on some games to hit your platform; and we wait PC gamers wait on some games to come here. Big flippin' deal. It's nothing new, in this industry.

Who knows - we could get a PC Edition of Destiny w/ more DLC straight out the gate (like Ryse PC + Dead Rising 3 PC are doing) - and you console-gamers will still be having to buy each DLC piece-by-piece or buy a Season Pass.

Of course, this is Activision - and they could just give us a damn base-game; and make us buy the rest, just like y'all console gamers.

This is Activision. The game will always have a base $60 price and never get discounted more than ten bucks.

If Destiny PC ever hits $10, I'm in.

It's too high-profile to ignore, if it ever costed a Hamilton.

EDIT:

Destiny = mmo equivalent of Borderlands? Pass.
At least Borderlands 1 + 2 can be played either online or offline.

Up to the gamer.

Put down Skyrim (haha, yeah right) and do it meow!
i have been meaning to play a silent hill game...eventually. ive been thinking of getting the hd ps3 collection but i heard it's crap. not sure how true that is

I hadn't seen any mention of this recently, although perhaps I've just overlooked it:

Blink has a "something for everyone bundle" going on right now.

$5 for

Riptide G2

Continue?9876543210

Aces Wild! Manic Brawling Action

WazHack

The Maker's Eden

Vector

Real World Racing

Vitrum

+ mystery game (all Steam)
there is nothing in there for me. false advertising

because if the religious adherence to these internet dependent boards is any indication im sure the ability to play offline is of the utmost importance to most CAG regs

On 360 it's broken crap. On PS3 it started broken and has since been patched ending up as merely an underwhelming refresh for those familiar with the original titles. As someone who hasn't experienced the original releases, the HD collection is a good place to start.

It's my opinion.

You and the other 9,000 people in this thread don't gotta agree w/ me on this.

The thing is - I can still play offline portions to games like Vampire: Bloodlines, Diablo 2, Deus Ex 1, Sacred 2: Gold, Baldur's Gate 1 + 2, etc etc.

Where will Destiny be in 20-30 years, if they never eventually pull its always-online requirement when most players have dropped-off to go play something else?

Oh, that's right - your game-files and/or game-disc could be a coaster, sitting there right next to the likes of my retail copy of Tabula Rasa.

Unlike Borderlands, I doubt Destiny makes a single reference to midgets. Unless there's free midget dlc, I will NEVER buy Destiny
Do not worry about the afterlife, Hyperion customer! Hell is reserved exclusively for pedophiles, and people who fakecag Activision software products!

This.

Why would I want to have to tolerate all the bad aspects of "modern" MMOs (dumbed-down, grindy, always-online, pay2win, having random douches ruin your game experience etc.) just to play the same game when I can just play BL2 with friends?

From what I've heard, it's still broken on PS3.. just less broken than it was originally was. I think you'd get the best experience with the PC versions.

Well, I played it at release and had zero problems (PS3). The PC ports aren't exactly stellar nor would I consider them better than the console releases straight out of the box. Though if you opt for the PC ports, GAF (edit: Bruticis'd) is a good place to start to look for fixes.

Based on preliminary research the major barrier i see toward playing it on pc is the huge price tag. Yes Im aware i could greenmangame playfire it but i'd rather not

They might require some tweaking, but the PC versions of SH2 and 3 are as good as it gets. If you search on any Silent Hill forum, most people will tell you that there are still many issues with the HD collection even after the patch that don't exist on the PC versions. I think the only downside is that used copies of the PC versions aren't exactly cheap.

I hate to suggest this, but I think p_r_t_n_ the games for PC is a better option than buying the HD collection if you're too cheap.

Oh, I don't disagree that the end result will be better on PC, but for someone who has never tried the franchise out before, finding the PC versions on the cheap can be tough. I wouldn't have bought 4 for PC had it not been for the fact that it was still nib. The HD collection can be had for around $25, finding just 2 or 3 individually for that price may not be easy. At least from the prices I've seen recently.

Nobody is buying Destiny to play in 20-30 years. They are buying it to play for a month or two until their mom buys them the new Call of Duty.

Not to mention it's an MMO. 90% of the point of an MMO is online interaction, which makes the whole "i cant play this offline" thing a little stupid

And I keep telling her I could really use a good chef's knife.

Moms are so out of touch.

Is anyone else having issues with the game forums? Everything looks out of place, as if the CSS was loaded incorrectly. This is in both the client and a web browser.

I'm willing to bet that in a full play through, Destiny wouldn't make me LOL 1 time.. where Borderlands just keeps on giving.
