Oh, I'd love to see Gears of War 1 brought to Steam.

And the rest of series ported over to Steam, since Gears 2 and newer ain't hit the PC.

EDIT:

Gears 1 PC was awesome, other than the performance issues (i.e. the game would stutter for a moment here and there) and texture-pops it was known for, back in the day.

I'm sure these days and age w/ better hardware - I'd hope that wouldn't be the case, anymore.
IMO, each successive iteration of the franchise was worse than it's predecessor. GoW2 was good, but after that, I couldn't even get myself to finish the games.

Skyrimz is vast but shallow. Not a bad action RPG but nowhere near the OMGHOLYPOOPDISGAMEGUIZITGAVEMEORGASM people make it out to be. Mods help a lot the wonky stuff but it still doesn't really do much for the content. I never finished the main questline because it was pretty boring.
The Skyrim base-game main quest is certainly NOT the best storyline in Skyrim.

Personally, I prefer the main quests of both Dragonborn + especially Dawnguard.

As for Skyrim's base-game - I loved the side-quest stuff from the Dark Brotherhood + Thieves' Guild.

Also, the side quest-line w/ The Companions was great stuff, as well.

So if I'm not big on loot games (even if I seem to own a lot of them) nor shooters (of the first and third person varieties, anyway), and if FPP gives me motion sickness, is there any reason I should still want Borderlands 2 beyond +1?

The humor is pretty good, but other than that... no. It's pretty much a shooty-looter in a neat fantasy environment (fun in co-op if you can tolerate the gameplay though).

If this turns out to be true, you may be able to play a bunch of xbox games.
That's interesting, though.

Don't really like the idea of the game stuck in the Cloud.

If the Cloud is an extra option - well, that's cool then, in case the game ain't installed and I got some kind of Net-connection (i.e. if I'm not at home, but maybe at someone else's house). :D

I would prefer for PC gaming it went like this - say I buy an original XBox, XB360, or XB1 game - that the game could be ran directly off the disc; or I could buy a digital-version from Microsoft so I could download the game-files from Microsoft's website + install the game files to my HDD (hard disc drive) so it just runs completely off my PC.

What happened for it to do this to you?

Was it too much of the same for you?

Did the series evolve?

Or what?

Has GameFly been hanging-out w/ Amazon DVG lately?

Why so many Rockstar deals of late from many services?

My internet has gone out once in the past few years...for like an hour. If the internet siezes to exist and I can no longer download my games and play them, shame on me for buying more than I'll ever play.

Gears of War series started off as a over the shoulder shooter with Resident Evil vibe. I think the first one creep me out a bit.. the 2nd one was when it got emotional --> I consider it the highlight of the plot. One of the main characters went after the monsters to look for his missing wife (pretty epic moment) and the 3rd one was the great conclusion of the series. Multiplayer-wise, it was the SHIT! I played Horde Mode alot since GOW3 evolve the series by leap & bound. It hits co-op right on top of the head and the chainsaw/brutality/gunplay was quite satisfying. The monsters were interesting too.

Can't say much about the off shoot GOW Judgement (story about the side character and it was NOT made by Epic). The quality drop a bit. Great series otherwise and I usually HATE shooters. I think Halo & GOW are the only two shooters that I played.

I also got a PS3 back then but none of the PS3 shooters got it good like Xbox

Pretty much. Three and Judgment just didn't keep me interested enough to finish. They weren't bad per se, but just didn't hold my attention.

If you haven't played the Killzone or Resistance franchises, your missing out.

People Can Fly made GoW:J, IIRC.

I really liked Painkiller: Black Edition + Bulletstorm.

can some borderland 2 die hard comment on this? Is this really the "complete" edition?

i did.. i was about to mention those but my memory can't seem to remember the correct names (some shooters start with Kill..something and another shooter with RE...).. aw... thank you, for reminding me. Killzone was Sony's attempt to capture the shooter world. It was good but not THAT good. Resistance series is a bit bland. Surely they are both better than most shooters out there but for a First Party game, i expect better. Not as good as the Gears and Halo series, story and gameplay wise.

Personal preference I guess. I had a PS3 before I got a 360 and love both Killzone and Resistance. I bought my 360 mainly for Gears and Halo and while both are good, I was let down by all the hype, that for me, they did not live up to.

outside of the skin packs, yeah

if you've somehow avoided getting and bl2 stuff that pack is more than worth it. the season pass (which included just the 4 story campaigns and the initial level upgrade) was 30 bucks on its own at release. to get all this for 15 is a crazy good deal, not to mention a ton of value play time wise

Sort of unrelated: I was banned from 99Gamers after selling about 200 Steam keys.

Brandon, the owner, is a pretty big douche; I offered him another idea for running the website, which he dismissed rudely, then I pointed out that there are ways to circumvent the current "rules" that are already in place and he immediately banned my account. I told him he was being a dick. He replied with "we as a community feel it best if you didn't use this site anymore" and cited the reason being that I was "disrespectful to staff."

Never really heard of a website where the customer service says "we don't want you here." What a shitty excuse for an administrator. That asshole kid needs a good punch in the face for being a condescending prick.

should have just print screen his response and use it for your signature, and let the internet know what a douchebag he is

I've been leery of the site since it first appeared... it feels like Goozex Redux to me.

In other news, if you own PayDay 2 or Hotline Miami, you'll get a coupon for 50% off the other game. If you own both, you get both.

Step 1 to not getting banned from a trading site:

Don't call the owner a dick

i actually booted that up right before i decided to go with skyrim, played for about 15 minutes, and just wasnt feeling it at the time....still not really in the mood for it
Neither was I, but MNS had some good words for it, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Then I felt bad about leaving my Monk at level 69, so I figured I'd just quickly bump her up a level. Then I figured I'd just test drive the Demon Hunter class. Then I figured I'd just test drive the Wizard class. Then I figured I'd just test drive the Witch Doctor class. Then I figured I'd just test drive the Crusader class. Then I figured I'd just stop figuring and actually play D3.

Their message system is really shitty. It's positioned so you can only see one paragraph and there's no way to see the full conversation. I think he just removed my account after I told him I wouldn't use the site anymore based on principle.

Yeah, they usually don't care. I think I was ratted out for listing some Steam games as Physical instead of Digital to increase my exposure. I told Brandon that it's irrelevant because there's a subjective inflation value added to all listings because the Coins the site uses as currency have an arbitrary worth depending on how people rate the condition of their games, how much personal attachment they have to the games, and what method they use to ship the games. There's a listing for Superman 64 at 100 Coins, for example. People also regularly list games for HIGH (3-5x Amazon prices) prices and say "I'm not sure I want to sell this game...but if the price is right I will." I suggested that he make the buying limit universal--there's a "buying limit" of 1 sell to 4 buys for each Digital and Physical cumulatively over your lifetime on the site, and a "reselling limit" of 5 sells to 15 buys per 30 days. I told him I could just write the codes down and send them as letters in the mail if it was that much of a problem, and he deactivated my account within a few minutes.

There's a cutthroat reseller on there named Melissa E. from Canada (same city and province as Brandon) who I'm sure did it, since she's an uptight basement-dweller who writes ambiguously apprehensive comments in her listings and has sold about 900 Steam keys. Looking at the feedback she's left for others is like watching an obsessive-compulsive examine a Chuck E. Cheese: "The item was listed in very good condition, but there are a few hairline scratches on the PS3 disc and the manual has a small crease on its 13th page. 1 STAR"

Instead of attempting to resolve these issues, Brandon went all Bill Lumbergh on me and now I can't use the rest of my coins. Like I said, I won't use the website based on principle now. You have to be relatable and sincere in customer service, not a douchebag who drives people away. I had 18 sales already this month.

So, apparently Steam changed the color of you/friends online from a subtle cornflower blue to an eye catching blue-green.

I'm skeptical of change.

Oh man, I've been whining for that table for years. I used to play that every weekend at a biker bar some buddies and I hung out at in college. It's a classic.

I'm not a fan of their prices, but I do understand the licensing issues with this one and I consider $7 to be a bargain to have complete access to it (though I'm kinda grumbling that it's $15 for the pro table).

I loved Goozex while the fees were reasonable, and before almost everything PC started showing up on Steam. There were some cool people there too for game nights. I even used VGFive for Steam keys before those assholes who vultured Goozex had them shut down. Dealing with a place that has ego cases like that seems more trouble than it's worth.

Screenshot? They changed the status borders a few days ago (smaller, seems to be a slightly different colour), but I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about since I wouldn't say that blue is any more eye-catching than the previous one.

Jshackles just gifted me Hatoful Boyfriend to play during Extra Life. Can't wait to try to sex up some pigeons while I'm struggling to remain conscious.
Hope you enjoy! I'll also be playing that during Extra Life so I'm not sure what I'm getting into exactly.

And not to one-up you or anything, but this year for my Extra Life marathon I'm giving away over $1,000 worth of prizes donated by IsThereAnyDeal.com to people who donate. You can read up on it here.
