Huh, I guess reporting Steam reviews does work.

When I was a kid you had to buy physical hot wheels and tracks used at garage sales and the tracks were never complete so you had to use half constructed tracks that lead to nowhere and they didn't have no fancy accelerator so you had to use your hand to push your car around the track trying to bump your brother out of the way to beat him in the race.
When I was a kid, you'd take a big cardboard box cut flat and draw a town on it with all the roads and stores and police station and stuff. and your mansion. You had to have a mansion since you obviously owned like eleventy-thirteen novelty sports cars. Once we got a new refrigerator and I snagged the box and, cut flat, it took up most of the garage floor -- room for an entire sprawling metropolis. I was a god among children.

On a completely different track, I have like a hundred hours in Stalker: SoC but never really got into Call of Pripyat. The first time I tried it, I was just burnt out on playing Stalker as I had just done a full run of SoC. The second time I wandered around blind and then got roasted by an emission and thought "nuts to this". A few other false starts between games and then a few nights ago I decided to buckle down and give it a real go. Got myself established after a few hours and feeling good about things and then read that the Complete Mod (for CoP, not SoC) now breaks the game part way through and leads to constant crashes. Supposedly related to the game patch removing GameSpy. So I had to reinstall it clean and now go find some graphics mods (not interested in Misery). I think fate just doesn't want me playing it.

I had a horrifying crisscross Hot Wheels set. You would turn it on and blades of death would spin around and you would do your best not to stick your fingers in it.

When my older one was a kid, I'd buy him the cheap toy cars from Walgreens when we'd go out because they were 50¢ each.  I think they were something like Webly?  [Edit: Welly]  Curiously enough, they were usually modeled after actual cars and the Ford Fiesta actually looked like a Ford Fiesta rather than the Hot Wheels/Matchbox offerings of "Ice Nightmares", the ice cream truck with enormous rims, a spoiler on the back and huge exhaust pipes coming out of the sides.

When we were kids, my Hot Wheels invaded my little brother's Micro Machines City and ruled as gods until one of his diminutive vehicles appealed for peaceful cohabitation.  I, I mean, they humored him by agreeing... for now.

Speaking of early access games, The Hat Man: Shadow Ward has just come out of early access just now. A Slender man rip off.

For anyone with the Defense Grid 2 beta..

They're giving away a free map DLC via the in-game store for this week only, so it might be best to install it now before the beta keys get revoked. The official release is Sept 23rd, so the keys might be revoked then.

I wonder if somehow this will glitch it to stay permanent after release. I mean how can you own DLC for a game you don't own?

It would be cool but my hopes are low. It's just an interesting thought.

The DLC will most likely stay permanent, but I doubt the game will stay in your library. I don't think it counts as "Steam" DLC anyway (doesn't show up in Steam DLC tab), since you buy it from the in-game store, so there shouldn't be any issues.

EDIT: Ok, maybe the DLC map won't be permanent, it's titled as a "beta" map. Still worth getting just in case though.

It doesn't seem to matter as it didn't work for me. I went through the process and didn't get squat.

Edit: Never mind there it is.

This must be new as I don't remember it being the case before but all Just Cause 2's DLC says "English language not supported."

What's up with that? I already own a couple and was thinking of completing the set and now I see that warning.

I bought whatever was cheaper and cooler looking.  Ratmobiles and fire cars, etc.

Also, looks like Looney Toons will be a skip for me:

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh July 21, 2014

Might be more enjoyable for young children. Only took me about 3 hours to complete the whole game and I think you can't die. No challenge. $20 for this game is too much, i would advise people to wait for it to go on sale for under $5.

Definitely geared towards young children. You can beat the game in a couple hours. I was very disappointed when I saw the credits start rolling after I had barely been playing. A lot more could of been done with this game...too bad it wasn't.

Crusader Kings II has sold over a million copies

Paradox Interactive today announced that Crusader Kings II, the grand strategy game of medieval marriage, rule and conquest from Paradox Development Studio, has now sold over one million copies worldwide.
[...]
Paradox Interactive has also shared some data about Crusader Kings II to underline the scope of the game’s success. Not only has the base game itself sold over a million copies, but the catalog of DLC and expansions for Crusader Kings II have sold a combined total of approximately 7 million units. Crusader Kings II is played by an average of 12,500 players every day, and roughly 100,000 players in a month. The average Crusader Kings II player has a playtime of just over 99 hours.
I wonder how many of those were in Amazon Paradox "Every friggin' game we own for ten bucks" packs

Lexica is in the new Humble Weekly because I bought it in last week's Steam sale with card moneys.  I've been playing it since then and it's pretty fun.  Worth the dollar tier admission price.

Oh look, another Director's Cut version of a game.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/315340/

Remember ARES Extinction Agenda? Well now we have an EX version. No clue what price it's going to be, but it's going to be 50% off for previous owners. So it'll probably be five bucks.

Edit: Do me a favor and downvote the hell outta the first review. It's by one of the devs. I tried leaving a comment but I guess the site won't let me.

Haha.

Also 2033.

Hope you added that Novel to your account. I don't think it's available in Redux :D

Weird as redux is missing Linux support for LL.

No longer on Gamersgate but still available (as the Complete Edition) via GMG and Amazon.
For now.

It looks like the games have been removed from Ubisoft's store - for me, at least, I can only see the Redux packs.

And Humble Store with discount.

+2 removed games is kinda nice tho :D
I'm more worried about my Astats points than the games being removed. :p

Bought Final Fantasy IV from a friendly Russian chap. Good times.

Also got Double Dragon Neon from Gamefly.

I beat around the bush way too much.

Yes I #FAKECAGED it a bit.

I regret nothing.

It's been in at least 3 Humbles (CK Daily, Paradox Weekly, Jumbo 2) and an Indie Gala.

What is cheap? I would love another romp through the game.
Are you asking what I paid, what I consider cheap or are you asking what the meaning of the word is?

Whichever it is I bought it from this guy.

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/user/489449-dmix90/

I paid $10.99.

It's not what I call super duper cheap but I consider it a fair market value for so early after release.

Usually what I consider cheap is the usual CAG going rate of 75% off an MSRP of $20 or less but I make special consideration for certain games/series of games.
