Just to add to what Neuro and Neuro and Fox said:

DSFix is the only mod I would say is necessary. If you are interested in others I would check out the Dark Souls Nexus. I used DSFix, HD Textures, Flora Overhaul, Lava Fix, SweetFX, HD player messages, and a few others.

Also, I found the Dark Souls wikidot very useful. It has area maps and tons of info on mechanics, items, NPCs, etc.

Regarding Warlock 2 price mistake.

Unfortunately, after the forced update of the web-site due to the bot attack that happened all over the web, we had a small glitch regarding the pricing for the game on our co.uk website and this game in particular was wrongly priced for 0.00. We have fixed the bug promptly and had to revoke the keys due to the obvious wrong pricing on it. Unfortunately, this will result in the keys being deactivated. We apologize for the inconvenience this has brought anyone.

I'm not gonna consider that an "official" response until someone other than a moderator states it.

Original source is from here. He even says on his profile page not to take anything he says as a "GamersGate official". I don't understand why an official couldn't post the statement.

 
What exactly does deactivated mean? I got a couple extras to give away and I copy/pasted them in case something like this happened, but if the keys won't work then I won't bother giving them away anymore.

Yep, but this is if they revoke the already activated keys.

Deactivated keys means they won't be able to be activated, but they're still not clear in this "statement" whether it just means removed from your GamersGate library (as mine has been) or if they will go through the process of revoking the already activated keys.

I read on another forum that someone just activated his key on Steam fine (within minutes) so its unclear exactly what they're deactivating or if they just mean removal from one's GG acct, which has been done to many.

Do you have Windows 8? If so you need to remove GFWL & reinstall from webpage as older versions included with games just silently crash.

Works fine for me - boots up and runs w/ G4WL.

Have any other G4WL games you can download or install; and then run?

Try those.

If they don't work - you might be having G4WL issues. It's not uncommon that something goes wrong w/ G4WL - and G4WL breaks. And likely, you'll need to reinstall G4WL.

EDIT:

I should note - I have Windows 7 here.

I think it's working now. It made me install GFWL (newish PC). Seems kinda pointless now. Will probably try again tomorrow.

Dark Souls, once again, is clevererer than me.

Also removed from my GG account but still in my Steam library. If they actually do the revocation thing, then I anticipate the ensuing entitled gamerage with Xtreme indifference. Also, something about feminists ruining vidya games.

I was forced to go to the store Dammit! I do contribute things here and there. I always post when new trading cards get put up and the day after Squirrels 24 hour stream I became the stand in Steam sale board holder.

I also used to post pics of floppy breasts that people enjoyed immensly before modaggeddon hit.

I really enjoyed this on the PS3.

Will probably skip it on PC, as I don't really care to play through it again, but would be very interested to see the PSP sequel get ported as well.
