Does anyone know the legality of doing so with a key someone else has on Steam, I imagine it's illegal as sin.
 
I have received a Sanctum: Slums key I don't plan to use, anyone interested in trading for it? As freebies, I have an AirMech beta invite and Beat Hazard iTunes add-on to add :)

I'm pretty sure you have to install the game first, then Origin autodetects it and adds it to your account/

You can manually enter keys into Origin. I've done it with games from Steam and Direct2Drive, games Origin doesn't recognize as being installed.

You can also just install Alice: Madness Returns on Steam, right click on the game listing, and select View CD Key. Copy that key to your clipboard, go into Origin, and paste it into Redeem Code. Done!

Wait, does the UK version play well with US Steam client? As in the US version will accept the UK key?

If so I would want a hook up as well, have PayPal.

Then would it be possible for Origin to auto authenticate your Steam copy for 1 Origin account, and then enter the cd-key into a different Origin account?

OK now I'm confused, I can log into the UK version of Steam at this address:

and the prices show in pounds, so can't I just pay with Paypal (it should automatically convert from US dollars). why wouldn't that work?

Absolutely not. That's just cosmetic, e.g. you changing a variable of the frontend, but the actual checkout script automatically selects the currency based on your local IP.

Origin uses the CD key to authenticate the game to your account, so no double dipping. Nice try, though.
